i think nate said wat i was trying to say very well, if u got the black bonnet u'd needa get other black bits on ur car, and hence y i was saying on my car it would be easier to pull it off. when i was washing my car the other day i was actully thinking about painting the bonnet black due to all the stone chips in it...i'm gonna paint them all before i give it a wax but in the sun it just makes it reflect the holes hehe. here's a photoshop of my car with black rims and bonnet, and yeah getting the bonnet looking like its actully black paint is bad huh and that red fairlady in japan looks like its bonnet is glossy, flat is the way to go but then its even more contrast to a degree....

hehe i think its kinda cool and tacky at the same time, but if your doing it with a fluted bonnet you'd have to do the flut bits like a dark grey or something i reakon to make them still stand out a bit. i reakon on my car as its a fairly dark colour i'd be able to pull it off without it looking to obviously tacky, any ricer people will think its tacky as u havn't gone all out ricing and doing carbon. would you do it flat black or glossy? some of the 432's came with a black bonnet yeah?

yeah i'd like to do something to improve the handling but if i do an different engine then the weight distribution will change and so on so thats whey i'm only really looking into cheaper things and apperance mods so rims hopefully within a year, i'd like to get flares but its a bit pointless when i really dont need wider rims right now hehe. when i get my tax back i'd like to get some strut tower braces...

yeah i told my family my plans and they said cars to loud already when i get home at night as they can hear it from when i'm up round the corner so yeah the reason i wanted to do something so cheap is so i can keep saving as at the moment doing stuff to the l26 isn't important to me as i'd really like to do a swap eventually so saving for that, and whatever i get distracted with on the way :roll: hehe

when i was meaning cheap i was meaning less than $100 hehe, so yeah dam cheap, but now i think about it we put some shinny end on our commodores exhaust and even that was like $50 so i guess i'll just wait, i dont really want to spend that amount on something i'm hoping to change but then again $150 aint that bad so thanks for letting me know yeah my car really stinks like exhaust at the moment, as my lights aren't fixed in properally at all (still hoping to get the set off you Sulio if thats cool, but then again 240 rear lights look better everytime i look at them) and then i dont have that interior panel in either not that it would do much in my opinion but still...from everything i've read there isn't that much that can be done about it except replace all the rubber, put a downwards facing exhaust on and also the rear spoiler? -evan

I'd like to do something CHEAP to my stock exhaust system, basically i love how the car sounds when the window is down, but even that could be louder without being annoying, so was just wondering what would be a cheap decent way to make this happen, as in could the muffler just be cut off and the piping extended? would this sound kinda similar to your setup gav? (Even though i can't remember it really, just its loud ) i dont want to get some reverberant ricey exhaust coz my bro has one on his car (came with it) and it drives us both nuts, particually him on long drives i remember you saying your exhaust is around 116db gav, this would be in a particular rev range yeah? do the cops give you looks? because that would be my main concern and also i think the legal limit is loud enough hehe, but then it would probably get to expensive for something i want to change down the track when i do an engine conversion also i'd like to disconnect the engine fan and have one thats opperated by a switch, and was wondering how hard this is to do. any opinons would be appreshiated, thanks -evan

yeah i've removed the green bits from the 3 smaller gauges and its kinda orangy, i perfer it over the greeny colour and my headunits orangey so it kinda goes with it more so. the guy i bought them off said that in 76 they changed over to volts and before that in the 260's they are amps, but mine had volts in it and its an 76 january car and i was thinking it wouldn't work straight away when i plugged it in, i havn't even checked to see if they plugs are the same for it, but as you have to connect amps in series and volts in parallel i'm guessing it wont work. which would be more useful? i dont see the white faces happening for quite awhile :S but i think i'll put some white paper in one of htem so i can c what it looks like with just the globes in there...

i've pick up another set of gauges, apparently from the same year and stuff as my car but it has amps not volts so i'm not sure which one i'm going to use. i'm planning on doing my own faces for them in illustrator but i havn't even got to scanning them in yet :S and the holidays are nearly at an end so i dont see it happening anytime to soon, i've been working to much, but atleast i'll have money to do more exciting things to my car... with lighting the gauges i think i'm just going to go with one colour (either white or green) unless i use the 3 (well 2) colour leds and come up with an easy way to change it without having to run like 3 lots of wires to each gauge...as the 3 colour ones to change colours you put the current through the other way so my understanding of it so far would be that it wouldnt' b that hard to do...once i know what wires are which and i have an IC from a uni project that fades the leds properally by pulsing them on and off instead of using a resistor that eventually burns out...

well i got another set of gauges and have taken the green tinter bit out from inside each one which makes them like an orangy pinky colour....white i decide what colour i want to make them, i was wanting to make it so i could change the colour from a switch but then i'd have to run more wires and junk so i think i'll stick to one for now. anyway i was wanting to do the same thing to the heater controls but can't even find where you put the globes into it...so i thought mayb you had to remove the unit from the dash so i've undone the screws holding it onto the braket at the front so its all loose but its still being held in by something at the back, just wondering what i need to do. also is the piece of plastic around the headunit seperate from the centre consol? to me it looks like it is but it seems to b stuck onto it...just wondering what the deal is with it also before i try to take out the centre consol which i'd like to do to change the gear shift boot bit but i've heard its hardish to do because of the choke? thanks for any input -evan

interesting blue colour, how do they make the needles red? coz they are white....from memory...just paint?

hmm look interesting, there was a 280zx at the autosaloon that had like angel eyes happening...they were blue and looked a bit small due to it but i might look into them...just when would u even use the angel eyes? i guess when its foggy it'd look kinda cool but :s

hey i'm just wondering what people do/have done in terms of upgrading the headlights, do you buy whole new lenses and reflectors or what are the stock lights? h3's? i have a friend who is selling HID kits and am concidering getting one and hes happy to try to fit it before i buy it which would b interesting to see, but would like to weigh up the options, i'm getting sick of yellow lights that are dull hehe thanks -evan
