the ones with the indent, i had the same problem when i had some wheels on my old ae86, i basically went to around 2-3 wheels shops trying to find some nuts for it... and actaully got them in the end from autobahn, but the were those secure type nuts, like security nuts, i forget the name exactly, and ended up costing like $60 for all 4..... find the aus wantanabe distributer, and get them off them, and once you found that out, let me know who the distributer is.... thanks

i want non vented.... motorsport auto didnt get back to me on shipping sulio, if u gettng it from anywhere that would be cheaper to get 2, i want a non vented one... just let me know what you are doing about it, and where you are getting it from.... thanks
-
yer i was also thinking that sulio.... and most people if they don't want to take the Z out as its raining, will have a second car to drive... like myself... so if it is raining, a pub/park/ luncheon place to have a drink/some food and some Z talk would be nice, just to meet and greet everyone who has come along and possibly see some Zeds rather than driving past them today was rare, a fairlady 2000, and a 260z 2 seater in 1 day... extremly rare for me...

Hey Proposing next cruise and meetup I purpose July 23rd, its a sunday, Lunch (bbq or just a pizza restuarant) then go for nice afternoon drive maybe not sprited, then possibly few beers at a pub to finish it off before going home, or going for a sprited drive.... but just more of a meet and greet, and get to know everyone here on the site, and check out everyones cars, get some photos etc its way over a month away... but thats the date after my brother wedding and i know my Z will be up and running, and also during. holiday period... and gives everyone a chance to organise themselves...

yer mines in a shocking position, on the left tower not even straight, will be putting that in a nice spot once engine comes out and engine bay respray.... but yer, if been registerd before, its not a problem with vicroads with it being a old car etc etc....

once brasil warm up we are screwwed, which hopefullu they havn't got it together by sunday.... but i thin the odds are something like 1.28 brasil, and 6 australia, both for the win, its 51 for austrlaia to win the world cup, a nice 17 to get to the final, and 16 to get to the semi's.... i havn't misseda game yet, thats thanks to working in the bar, haha....\\\ croatia might test our defence, but we will break theres no problem i think... they arn't as strong as 98 in france, im puttin money on eiter germany or czech to win the cup, think brasil will get upset this year... but im mostly wrong

Hey decided to bite the bullet and pay for the car to get on the road, as have jack all time, and want to enjoy the car now... and right now it would be cheaper for me to pay someone to do it rather than take a day off work kinda thing, but i don't want to send the car to some idoit who will look at the car and go whoa what is it.... so anybody got any good Z car mechanics out there, who don't charge though the roof but get the job done...
-
or you can get individual k&N air fitlers from somewhere, i bought my old ones from gavin ages ago..... but best is stock box, with new air filter, no hot air getting in....
-
the throttle control, im quite sure wasn't standerd on a 73, you might be thinking more of a choke, but the 70 did have a choke and throttle levers.... 2 levers, when the 73 only has 1.... again, front bumper was put there for ADR purposes i beleive... you sure you had a 73, not a earlier 240, as the front indicators on the bumper, and the throttle lever, sounds more like a 70/71.... did the car have grills on the rear hatch, like vents
-
the fine for "not having full control of vehicle" is pretty much it... what i did is did a u-turn, and basically hanged the rear out for a few seconds... coppers said what was with the engine reving and wheels spinning, i said i sliped the clutch out to fast, and controled the car, so it wouldn't spin, they demed it not having full control.... which was a 140 or so fine, no demerit points, ive had this fine many a time, but if i actaully said, yes i meant to do that then it would be seen as reckless driving, and therefore you go to court for that one... and like 6 demerit points.... ive had that fine many times, espcially when i had a 180rwkw silvia, and a tight rear LSD.... also, not no control, but not full control... but yer im sure a police officer would just say why didn't you put tracting control on, or my best one was you have a manual, why didn't you just put the cluctch back in....
-
evan, buy some cheapo second hand tyres, that will cost $50 for both tyres.... so to save you some cash for a month or 2...... the fine, ive had that fine around 6 times, now, so don't worry, just as long as you said it wasn't intentional, they can't get you for reckless driving...... which youd go to court for, and then it be on your record..... but this fine, is it "not having full control of vehicle" then its not on ur driving record, so don't worry, just pay the fine, and get on with ur life... about the roadworthy..... well, bad timing, but your car should always be roadworthy, so either take to somewhere dodgy that will let you off a few things, rust in the doors shouldn't worry, as its not structual.... as long as you dont have a chasis rail falling off you'll be ok.... i know places on side of the city that are a little bit hassle free for these type of events

cool, yer i do 2 subjects at school, and 2 subjects over the net, and only actauly at school for around 5-10hours a week, which is jack all... but i do shit loads of work over the net and when im at home, as i just finished a 10k assignment on my new disign for next year.... yer im taking next semister off as i got no more subjects to do till my final year next year... so thats why i taking it off, and i got a full time job, cause well it kinda just worked that way, and i want the cash....
-

Braided brake lines and their effectiveness?
Natez replied to Toecutter's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
id be looking at prices from enzed, and forget the other brand, that supports the v8 supercar team, will get back with the price.... they are in altona.... but a friend got his 180sx front end done, costed $190 with all fittings, lines etc etc, his indicated was that he can feel marginal differance with his brakes, but its more about the feel of the brakes than the effectiveness he said, but you know he drives a 180 so what does he know -
ok its 2am just got home from having a few beers with the mates, i had 5 minutes to spare today, so i just stared at the car, and was happy just looking at it for a while actaully.... but tommorrow waking up early, and doing some things, but again will be shutting shop early to go to a party, damned social commitments... but yer list to do is, restorembrakes, H4 lights and twin relay for front headlights, manual converison, clean up engine bay, install fuel pump .... and watever else RW guy says... hopefully can click a few off the list tommorrow,

nah havn't sold it yet, havn't even advertised it or taken photos of it, again no time, to get it all sorted

Hey im sooo desperate to get this 240z on the road, really doesn't need much, around 600ish parts, and a few solid hours work, but i just can't find the time to do anything on the car... im working 45-50hrs a week, in a new managers position at work, and can't get time off, + got exams coming up .... and finding time to work on the car other than on sunday for a few hours other between family/friends occasions that keep on popping up, I really just want to drive the car at the should i just send the car to a mechanic, and get the car on the road?? im more than capable, mechanically, to get it all done, but by the way it looks time wise it won't be done for another month, and it has already been 2 months, ahhhh just really fraustrated, and want to get the car on the road,....and will be over 1k to get to a mechanic im sure, the money isn't the issue, its will i know my car 100% if i give it to someone else, i got another car to drive daily, so thats not the issue either... just fraustrating, and i have to have a little rant, anyone else in my situation???
-
thats the problem i am having.... i have taken out the mechanism, and realised it is bent , and so this is making it not sit flush...
-
anybody know if you can get brand new ones of these anywhere in aus, don't feel like paying 150US for them, as i need i for a 73 my passanger one is bent, and after 5 times taking it out again, i can't get it right, and its to far gone, and its not bringing the window up level...
-
will be swapping my manual box over tomorrow, so i will tell ya about that
-
so lambs, you are saying that the oil plug is on the right for the good 260z good, or on the left, and is that looking head from front of car, or looking from rear of car...
-
looks freakin clean and awsome.... will look fantastic once its out of the shop

difference between 260z and 240z carbies
Natez replied to pauly_adams's topic in General Discussions
IMO Su's are the go for a standerd, or mildly modded L series motor, don't bother with the single 2barrel, 280zx injection is better than that.... -
anyone know how to identify, the better 260z 5spd manual box, with the porsche type syncros, and the shorter ratios.... and did all 74 260z's come with this gearbox, or till what month of 74 did they finish putting them in etc etc
