I was hoping to get it done by tommorrow but since I've been so busy at work just has'nt been time this week, still in the bloddy office now and it's almost 8pm. 2 1/2" inch is a pretty average size for people to install on these cars. I initially installed extractors through to a 2 1/2" inch pipe followed by a straight through 3" muffler, one of those big ones a cat could crawl into. I soon realised appart from looking pretty stupid it was way to loud and I found the bottom end sub 3000rpm was terrible with no torque. The resonation on the freeway in the car at 100km/hr was also quite bad. I added one of those baffles or "hotdogs" as some call em between the muffler and extractors which helped but still very loud. I then removed the ricer fart can and got a nice flowing muffler wit about a 2 1/2" inch dump pipe to reduce fumes into the back. From memory the guy called it a "turbo flow" muffler, (not sure if that is some sort of propritry name or type of exhaust), thats still flows quite nicely but sounds tough at lower revs and great at higher revs. Odd though based on your comment on power, the most impressive part was how much more bottom end power was available after giving it a little bit of restriction with the later set up.

I have two cans of matched acrylic and seing its a flexible poly spoiler I'll stick to the acrylic! Excellent, so for the primer I really should buy a second spray gun? Can I buy a can of ready to go primer to suit acrylic paint in a pressure pack for this small job?

The fume problem is common due to the "aerodynamics" of the car. Check rear tail light gaskets but checking that rubber shift boot is a must. Also check the seal on the hatch and check to see the hatch has the two rubber gromets on the underside, (if they are missing it makes a huge difference, I know because I did'nt put them in straight after I sprayed my car and man was it bad!). Also you can go for the JDM look with the twin pipes sticking out one on top of each other in a vertical position, (that look really has grown on me over the years). Or you can install a dump pipe like I did and it helped. The aim of the latter and the potruding pipes is to get the exhaust fumes as far away from the rear of the car as possible. Any local mobile windscreen supplier can instal a 260 front screen for you at your home. From memory I think I paid about the $250 ish mark inc installation last time. If you do it and your front seal is in poor condition be sure to change that while your at it! Try Zworx for the side quarters! Sulio

I've decided to paint my front spoiler red to match the car. Seeing I have spare paint in tins in both acrylic and 2 Pak thats already colour matched I've decided to do the job my self. I'll buy a spray gun and borrow a mates compressor. Has anybody got links to some good info on the net regarding detailed instructions and tips? Cheers, Sulio

Rather than going out to dinner with a visiter from our Sydney office we thought we would try this racing simulator out. The guys from the office are pretty keen V8 Supercars fans so it was on Ford against Holden on the Bathurst track. $50.00 for four hours of racing and an extra $7 for pizza and drinks. hehe...looks odd with all those holes. The first thing I thought is whether it's worth the compromise of so little weight loss in regards to the reduced structural integrity of that section of the car. Maybe the owner found this out the hard way when they dfrilled into that rear strutt tower as they've added more weight than removed with that little brace! I've never raced cars but on a serious note, at a competative level do drivers get to a point where their own weight loss becomes an issue???

ok well if they start on the 15th of Jan I expect they will finish them 5 weeks later. There's quite a few different brands of wheels made in 3 piece custom offset sizes. I think a typical price for custom 17's in the config needed for the flares would be anywhere from $2200 to $3500 these days.
