  1. I count 13 so far. C'mon must be more out there. At present the plan is to have at least one highly modified car on show since we can drive cars into the premises near the bar with owners(s) giving a run down on work completed. S30 DVD in and out of car car racing footage, open bar with free pizza's organised for the night! Safe parking available at the Jag Club I've been told! Sulio I'll post some maps soon for those that want clear direction for the night.
  2. If your not in a rush E-bay can be pretty good for certain seals like the front window seal kit, Rare Spares also sell quite a few bits and pieces. I was surprised to find a lot of common rubbers like good Bailey Channel for the windows to seal nicely at Clarke Rubbers of all places but not all stores have the auto rubbers, I know the one in Oakliegh does. Good Luck
  3. Hi Craig, I hope we can discuss these details in person. I'll call both you and Lurch tonight hopefully you guys are free tommorrow evening. Cheers, SUlio
  4. OK including myself and the other fellas that makes 8 so far. Keep em coming who else thinks they can make it?
  5. Oh cool. Lurch can you PM me your phone number and we can have a chat about the details over a quiet drink. Gav, Craig you guys free this Thursday 11th to hook up for a drink in the evening??? OK so who can make it on the night of the Wed 31st of Jan for this little meet? C'mon show of hands so we can get an idea of whats needed!!!!??????
  6. Azman, I've had about 5 sets of both 240 and 260 carpets made by a carpet overlocker here in Melb called Arli Carpets in Airport West on Webb St. They charged me from $50 to $90 per set, just need the originals to give them to go by. The price is always different as they just guestimate every time I go!
  7. I believe the date will be Wed 31st Jan 2007 at the Jag Club as it's come up most popular.
  8. Dave, are you a doctor now?
  9. Still have'nt decided on a date, perhaps mid to late Feb. Gotta talk to some of the guys and pick a date. Alfadog, when you in Melb?
  10. I have no idea but if I had to guess my guess would be a light sensor to brighten up or dim dash lights automatically. I would be surprised if a car of that age would have this feature or that any car would but I tink some TV's do!...then again it could be some alien civilisation monitering you! :?:
  11. I've never been there myself but it does sound well suited to our needs from all I've heard.

very nice. i've always liked them in white, sits nice too!
  13. Hi, Welcome. Both cars have been for sale for some time now. The purple one has a kit on it I've never seen before. Personally I would keep away from that sort of thing. The green car looks nice, i reckon you could negotiate hard on it if he really wants to sell, check it properly. Hard to say anything about condition as you really need to look for rust in all the usual places on these cars, mechanics are easy enough to fix but rust can be a pain. Use the search function above and search rust, you'll see there are common places to look on Z's, some areas les serious than others obviously. For 10 to 12K you should be able to find a very clean close to rust free car thats ready to drive and enjoy. Theres a huge amount of mods you can do to these cars depending on what you want to acheive but engine mods ie to later model RB Nissan motors quickly add up to 10K so if your after something like that try and buy it all done and save some mulla. good luck keep an eye out in the classifieds here as members try and post anything they find thats selling to assist others like your self to find a Z! _________________
  14. if you like the height i've got mine at you might be able to run it with really hard springs at rear and get away with only the occasional rub. I've heard that is what some of the guys in Japan do but it sounds a bit dodgy to me and besides a little lower would look even better. Having said that the height i'm at now is reaaly practical as it never scrapes underneath anywhere!
  15. so you know have the full R32 a/c installed in your 260! People would kill for that set up in their cars during summer! i installed old a/c from a donor 260 but never got it working quite right, gotta try again some time. Earger to see the dash when all neatly fitted. Sounds like you know your way around these cars both mechanically and the electronic side too, good work!
  16. have you looked into getting those round chrome blank bolts for the front bar to get rid of the holes?
  17. Yer I've always thought that Evan, but the question never gets answered. Of coarse you can go back by welding them in. If you can unstitch the whole roof and weld in a new one then welding guards back in must be easily done also, well maybe not easily but my guess is verfy doable. Thing is I can't see myself wanting to remove the flares I just like that fat look too much and lets face it, it's been around for as long as the car as other wise you would'nt have ZG model! Funny story about a member here that was so worried about his 260z 2 seater getting scratched as it was in very nice condition that he felt he had to sell the car. He did so and the car ended up being converted to a Ferrari kit car! Ha enjoy your car which ever way you like it!
  18. I am still to cut the flares. I would have done it ages ago but I've been busy renovating my home so my cars at my folks place til I build a garage. Yer, your on the money, drill holes, cut original guards, weld them up and done. I'm able to drive the car as is but it rubs over bumps at speed. I'm using what I think is Super Low King Springs. When I cut the guards I'm gonna have a good think about going lower and how to achieve that wether it be coil overs or even lower springs! I dropped in to a distributor of ROH wheels with Evan and we ordered a set like mine for his car although he asked for black centers. He's got his flares and I believe he gets his wheels late Jan or early Feb so if you want to get your arches done we are looking for a good place to do em, economy in numbers hey! Theres a good thread with photos on how to do it all here and the link below has got info on the rim/tyre config I went with. Can't remember what it was off the top of my head atm. *EDIT: Just realised your in Adelaide, Oh well try and get it done for the Nationals and come to Melb. http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=702 http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=788

    240Z

Jeez, it already sits at a nie height! Nice car, does it need alot of work?
  20. Bonnets on alot of Z's don't sit right. The latch can be adjusted at the rear to drop it there. Also I've found a good way to adjust the front is to remove the grill and when the bonnet is closed have someone help you put some pressure on the front whilst hinge bolts are loose. When it's sitting right tighten the bolts and it shouldn't go back to sitting in the higher position. I saw that car at the Nationals. Alot of time spent on it, especially the upholstery if it was the same car. A little to Mexican for me persanlly all those flames and crazy stuff. Would'nt take much to change that though!
  21. ah all it's missing is the "Hoff"! hey what about the front hood LED that "KITT" had!
  22. Good advice Gav. There are some pretty major differences between a 280ZX, 260Z 2+2, 260Z 2 seater and 240Z. If only 2 seats are a problem then you might want the 280ZX or 260 2+2 as the 240Z and 260Z 2 seater only carry 2 people as they don't have the rear seats. The 240Z will command best price with the 260 2 seater following closely behind although these days even that gap is closing. Good cars are starting to get hard to find. Do some research on each before you start making offers on any of these cars to be sure you buy the car you really want. My personal choice is for the 2 seater models however it is a personal preferance. Don't rush in and use the Classifieds section on this site as we often post cars we come across and you might find if they have enough info in the add they are often criticed by all the hawk eyed Z owners here that could help you ID duds. There is actually one member selling a car, link below; http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=967 Good Luck! Sulio
  23. Yes welcome. Fear not our members are made up of enthusiasts that range from the Z novist through to guys that can write you a 20 page essay on these cars so I reckon you'll be fine mate! Good luck with the projects, be sure top post some pics! Sulio
  24. I think the fellla wants to run ZG flares on the car so if this is the case we miss the point which is by going to coil overs with a 9 inch rim and 0 offset yes you could make it fit but it would not fill the flares and look cheesy!?
