  3. Nissan L-series engine with RB head. A few years ago folks were talking about doing this, does anyone know anyone who has actually completed it?
  4. A channel that really appeals to me is Peter Anderson's channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-FVfPqpU3jUz6PANryzwYg He did a series of clean up videos on an old 1980s Sigma. Really good stuff.
  5. Gonna be tough to find it, might want to try www.240zrubberparts.com and ask Steve if he's willing to make them?

  10. I get it, but if you watch the Hoonigan channel and Larry Chen's channel, they are simply not automotive anoraks. I just watched another episode here. It's clear from watching it, they have no idea what half of these cars are, or the engines in them. This kind of automotive content is like junk food, looks good at first. Afterwards leaves you feeling a little sick in the stomach. :).

  12. Only problem, that car looks like it's had a front-end whack before. My early 240z HS30 00051 has never had a front-end knock and would serve as a good template.
  13. Certainly a very affordable car to go racing in at the moment.
  14. Well it's no different in my mind to people who have a Skyline R33 (GTS-T) or R34 (GTT) model/variant that mock them up to look like GTRs really. Given the acceleration of values in the genuine GTRs (all GTR models seem to be getting out of reach these days, not just C10 GTRs). I guess it's more and more likely the basic models are going to be dressed up that way. I guess the Nismo Omori factory wouldn't take in a humble R33 GTS-T for service work. Since they are focused on GTRs and other Nismo specials, but it wouldn't stop kids putting Nismo stickers or Omori factory stickers all over their cars. Everyone knows the real GTRs are still the legends, but in most cases it's a case of champagne taste with beer budgets I guess.
  15. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/333231135748?ul_noapp=true This motor is likely to belong to a 73 240z. Somewhere in the range: HS30-101487 to HS30-102195
  16. I've got something better for going to the shops! And unlike the GTX is has the right GTR powerplant! :). I think the C10 itself is an automotive legend, regardless of it being 4 door, 2 door or S20 or L-series powered. I'd still love a GTX with Triples.. But I know, I know, it's not a GTR that won all the races.

  18. I have a spare roof skin, and OEM rear valance section (with some rust in the middle) that I'd love to model for reproduction purposes.
  19. Curtis car looks great. Zack I kept quiet when you first posted it, but I think the "expert" was me.. lol. Fabio called me asking an opinion on what I thought his cars were worth. He didn't mention any deal being done already. Just said a friend told him to call me for an "expert" opinion before he lets them go. If Curtis got a good deal on them, all the power to him. But usually when people ask me for price guides I try to err on the side of caution and suggest they list a little higher to begin with and drop their price to meet the market if required. My intention was not to stand on anyones toes, and I had no intention of buying them for myself for the record. As most here will know I'm bullish on 240z (S30Z) values, and in particular early HS30's I think are still cheap when compared with the North American market of late. But, that of course is just my humble opinion. Just looking over Fabio's email again. He also had 2 other cars. Burgundy colour car = HS30 00103 White car = HS30 00285 Do you know where those cars went Curtis?

  21. Door sills = OEM (if you can find them) I do see some on Yahoo! Auctions Japan from time to time. Or look at Tabco. Rear quarters - You're out of luck for full size OEM ones. I've managed to find NOS searching globally. I currently have a NOS passenger quarter stuck in the Netherlands that I'm trying to get here. @C.A.F. have discussed using my OEM panels to scan and tool up to reproduce because Nissan hasn't been forthcoming in reproducing them yet. In the interim you can get Tabco based ones that cover the wheel arch portion of the rear 1/4, but for anything larger best bet is second hand (better ones) if yours have been crumbled beyond reasonable use. I did experiment with importing from the US but a pair of quarters I imported once blasted were not in as good condition as initially thought, so I felt a bit guilty selling them. Of course I wasn't to know what was under the paint, but it put me off the idea of sourcing more. My thoughts are North American cars have received a good bogging up over the years and stripping back the paint can reveal a multitude of horrors. Internal mudguards? Do you mean the wheel house for the rears? Tabco does those, but the front splash shields that go inside the guards should be easy enough to source second hand in ok shape. Rear valance/beaver - Hmmm.. I did import 1 from Canada from ZeddFindings but I would not recommend this section, as it took a lot of work to 're-work' it. Part of the problem was the thick gauge steel used was many times thicker than OEM and to get that curvature with the dye press in the middle was very hard to work it. You can see how I'm going here. I actually managed to find a NOS rear valance section (upper and lower) but has some water damage / rust from sitting in a storage area that had water ingress over the years. I'm thinking I'll repair it since the rest of it is ok. But these are almost impossible to find (NOS), I was bidding on 1 in the UK that sold for $4,500 AUD before shipping, taxes etc.. It's not an easy section to repair/re-make however so hopefully the top half of your section is ok? In which case I'd recommend this UK seller. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/indigo123music/ Who does a much better reproduction piece (from what I understand). https://www.jdmjunkies.ch/wordpress/2019-05-09/240z-new-rear-lower-valance-arrived/ If you have a good panel beater, who can fabricate some of this stuff it may end up being cheaper than trying to work in reproduction panels. It's a difficult judgement call that gets easier with experience I'm afraid. So will depend on the extent of the rust in your car and where it is etc..

  24. Sorry, got it confused with another orange Z. I do remember seeing it at the Nissan Datsun Nationals in 2005 though! What I find scary is that it was nearly 15 years ago! Yikes..
