  1. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-38/ #512 is for sale in the US.
  2. I think this is the seller, but I don't see any listed at the moment. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/indigo123music/
  3. I might buy this 1 anyway and repair the original section. I will re-do the upper half areas where my welding was less than ideal and see if I can make it into a good panel again. The only way to get better is practice, practice, practice.
  4. This would have made life easier.. https://www.jdmjunkies.ch/wordpress/2019-05-09/240z-new-rear-lower-valance-arrived/
  5. Yes I saw that, it's also missing the L24, however 903 Blue is very rare for HS30s, especially early 70 models and it's of course quite a low VIN #, so a well worthy project IMHO.. $20k is up there for a car in this condition, but if you consider what good cars have been selling for in North America (and they are HLS30's made in a lot more volume) I don't think it's unreasonable.
  6. Ends today, for those who have pop corn, worth a watch? CURRENT BID: $49,000 ENDS IN: 3:59:08
  7. Finally moved! Looking forward to seeing this thing completed.
  8. #116 early 240z Datsun 240Z 1970 Series 1 (Chassis: HS30-00116) $20,000 https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/edens-landing/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240z-1970-series-1-chassis-hs30-00116-/1215385636 https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/iq8AAOSwfXhcr9hq/s-l800.webp
  9. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/pakenham/cars-vans-utes/1973-datsun-240z-project-car-resto-z/1217751908 This car was listed a while ago, still very much a project like it was before. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/m0wAAOSw~htc0se4/s-l800.webp
  10. Slowly getting there, need to clean up the welds a bit still, and then put the brackets on that are missing for the rear garnish and the interior rear trim to clip into (since they were all missing as a result of the rusted areas). The thing about oxy welding is it looks really rough until you wirebrush it or sandblast it, then once all the surfaces have a uniform finish it looks a lot better. I will try and take a photo of how it looks underneath the slam panel area, since it actually looks quiet seamless and neat. My welding abilities have come quite far after working on this, which is what I wanted. Although I may re-work sections if I decide I'm unhappy with the finish and I may revisit the other piece I made and re-do sections on that again. It's only taken me what 4 years to get his far with it?

  12. This is more focused on the 90s. https://cnaluxury.channelnewsasia.com/obsessions/best-nineties-90s-japanese-performance-cars-prices-11506548 But also discusses the demographic shift.
  13. I just got myself a Nissan Stagea 260RS that is putting down 230kw at the wheels. It's running 14psi and pretty much stock, but for a 3" exhaust system. The Stagea is about 1700kg... In a 240z an RB26 is going to be very wild. Even with stock twins.
  14. 510s are no longer cheap. SOLD FOR $53,510 ON 5/2/19 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-510-25/
  15. A few years old, but still worth a read. http://www.ironchefimports.com/2016/04/18/iron-chefs-top-twenty-collectible-modern-japanese-cars-part-1/
  16. Nice Blue early 240z. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-37/ CURRENT BID: $8,000 ENDS IN: 8 days
  17. Believe it or not, this actually encouraged me to buy an Rb26 powered car. Given the ongoing support for the drivetrain.
  18. $175k for a Pink Torana.. https://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/motoring/motoring-news/classic-holden-torana-and-vintage-number-plates-sell-for-big-bucks/news-story/90d35904e115445caa5846272450f1df
  19. Nice, thanks guys.
  20. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/griffith/cars-vans-utes/1978-datsun-280z-2-seater-lhd/1216776691 280z for sale.
  21. Start a new thread for that.
  22. Import monkey brought that car in a couple of years ago. I saw it in person, quite a bit of rust. I'd say it's useful for parts more so than restoration.
  23. Do you know what the VIN # was?
  24. The first 2 are sold. The last 1 is really interesting. It looks like another 904 white with blue interior car, but it's also an early 240z with vents in rear hatch and likely a manual. I know of 6 cars total that had 904 white exterior and blue interior. Could this be #7? It says chassis number in the #2xx range. Would be great to confirm what it is and how much he is asking. If it's in Melbourne I would be tempted to look.
