  1. Yes they should get an email depending on preferences but if they used a throw away email and never check if I guess they won't see it. Shame because I would love to know what happened to it. Very rare in white with blue interior.
  2. I've seen these sell for $400 + on Yahoo! Auctions hence my asking price. But now that you have shown me that I might have to refinish mine and add the knobs and price at $1000 AU. Keep in mind that NOS price is USD + shipping yikes!
  3. It's a shame this member never got back to us. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/2560-240z-dump-or-restore/ Should probably try and PM him and see what happened and what number it was...
  4. I believe the bracket itself was finished in the same yellow-chromate finish you see on many other S30z fasteners and components. But the top of it appears to be painted a flat black so when you look at the console you don't see the chromate finish. Same for the levers these were a black colour also. Or as you can see in the photo more of a 'green' hue similar to the seat rails.
  5. I'm working on unpicking the rear beaver panel on my S30z. Just wondering if you guys think these are factory welds? They certainly don't look like regular spot welds, so it got me wondering if they were original or not? I imagine they will be a little more difficult to unpick. They also looked a bit messy for 'factory' but I guess anything is possible? Certainly doesn't look like the rear beaver panel has ever been unpicked before so I assume they are?
  6. Look great to me, although I'd powder coat it 'orange' to be more inline with the original engine bay look myself . By the way that looks like the airbox that Gavin Strongman ran on his 260z. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/gallery/image/3605-no-caption/ Where did you get it?
  7. Just updated first post as a few images were broken after the forum move and a couple of links to external images died. I'm trying to save photos that are externally located because I can't control those and it's best if people upload their photos here that way they don't break later. Until I come up with the final solution which will be a registry that has a gallery / album attached for each car. Still a work in progress...
  8. Add about $8,000 AU in shipping and compliance + on road costs. So $40,000 AU for a left hand drive 240z. Then if you wanted to convert.... Hence that 907 Green 240z (71 240z) that sold recently for $40,000 odd looked cheap. Now listed at $75,000 AU on that dealer site.
  9. I sat in Marks car with the Datsun Bucket seats and found them quite good. But I have a slim behind haha. I agree the no head rest thing is not so good. But you can fit 1 to them. I actually like them in terms of support over the standard seats.
  10. 240K Wagon is very rare, thankfully. I already posted about the PS30 here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13116-the-global-z-car-s30s130-market-thread/?p=162572
  11. Here is the post. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12896-wtb-rear-bumper-2-seater-s30z/ I didn't get around to it because RWC didn't require it in the end, and I need to find some appropriate size fasteners also. I should have some rubber trims for it though, so once it's rechromed and I get the fasteners sorted I'll pop it back on.
  12. +1 I did the same research on this a while back and this was the company i was going to take my 72 rear bumper to.
  13. Hi mate, I don't recall, do you mind sending me a PM with the member name and or email address and I'll check for you?
  14. Bumper overriders are normal looking to me and were the same on all EXPORT market S30z's. I think it's just the camera lens making them appear larger than they really are. The Japanese Domestic Market depending on option generally didn't have them on most models. Hey Peter, I think those are normal for US spec cars. However I could be wrong. It appears in North America they got a few different versions, so maybe this car has a later version fitted? They had a keyless version also.
  15. 1970 Datsun 240z http://www.ebay.com/itm/131585500275 12 Hours to go, US$ 20,000 reserve not met. HLS3011682 I didn't bother to copy the description which read like advertorial. Car does look like a great example though.
  16. Well my console arrived. Unfortunately the lid has been cracked before, although the break is quite clean. I may be able to repair seamlessly, the surround has a chip out of it also. Bit of a shame, but the console was good and it's plastic trim pieces etc.. So not all bad.
  17. Hi Everyone, I have for sale, a very rare and hard to find twin throttle / choke set up from an early S30z. This is the bracket that enables the hand throttle on an early console. It looks like it's in great condition, could obviously be re-plated (but what were you expecting?). Both cables are attached and the mechanisms are a little stiff but nothing is binding. I'm only selling it because I already have 2 of these and this is the third. Given how rare it is I'm tempted to keep it for spares but for the right price I'll let it go. These are very rare because in some states in the US of A the department of transport mandated they be removed and many cars had these removed and a blocking plate installed instead. Asking price: $400 AU Will post anywhere in the world, provided you're willing to pay for it. Not in a rush to liquidate this. Last image for demonstration purposes only, not knobs or trim included.

Peter I imagine with a regular L-series head (say P90 for example) you already know what areas to take out and move around, port, tickle etc.. for the optimum flow based on having done so many in the past. When it comes to a complete unknown such as this engine head, with very few people having even seen 1 or worked on this cylinder head in the past, what approach to do you take to optimise flow? Do you have computer based modeling that you can rely on to help guide you? Or are you flying by the seat of your pants on something like this? Given how rare the head is, how can you be confident to know where to remove material etc..? Not questioning your skills obviously, rather interested in your approach with such a unique piece? By the way is the client located in Australia or Japan or somewhere else?
  19. Isn't that the same car as the post in #3295? Nice dash..
  20. Received donation thanks.

    260Z Parts Wanted

    1. Buy a 280zx distributor refurbished off eBay US. Second hand ones are all flogged out / require rebuild. 2. Can't help with this. 3. 260z? Just reskin your 1 at Dashboard Doctor in Victoria or buy a shagged second hand 1 and have it refurbished and sent over from Victoria. 4. I would buy a Kameari Manifold. http://www.rhdjapan.com/kameari-intake-manifold-kit-l-type-l6-42mm.html RE: #4 yes expensive, yes quality, yes better than cannon / redline etc.. This kit comes with linkages, gaskets, personally I wouldn't mess with second hand stuff.. My Mikuni's came with a Mikuni manifold but I am thinking of buying this..I believe Otomoto also stocks them. Hope that helps. If you really want a distributor I've got 1 on my bench in the garage looking sorry for itself. I was keeping it for spares, but if you're absolutely desperate let me know?
  22. Hey Alan, Peter needs 1 not me .
  23. Bit of bling? http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k189471456
  24. Any recommendation on good spot weld cutters? The last kit I ordered was pretty useless it went blunt very quickly. What kind of cutting fluid do you recommend and who sells it? Bunnings?
  25. Get a replacement ignition barrel they are pretty cheap on eBay etc..As for alarm's good question I'm yet to find anyone in Sydney I know of who's good.
