  1. Just add water and voila you've got yourself a GTO. http://bringatrailer.com/2015/08/24/ferrari-parts-bin-special-250-gto-tribute-project/ What could possibly go wrong?
  2. Quite rare to get the defroster glass here in Australia. Don't think we ever got them in our market? But I do love the look.
  3. Might give you a laugh. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13474-the-poms-are-buying-our-zeds/?hl=%2B240z+%2Bsale Here is the for sale thread, it's been edited since then. Used to have more photos of it. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13052-1971-240z-matching-numbers-almost-like-new-hs30-00596/ You could always try and get in contact with the previous owner and see if they can share more photos / history with you?
  4. Well done, yes I recall the car. Looked very original. Let me see if I can dig up the for sale thread on here.
  5. I heard a previous owner was looking to buy it back and was mortified to find out it had gone to Victoria, think he'll be mortified all over again if he knew the current asking price. *Edit asking price is on the website, $72,995

There are no words to describe how exciting this is to see. @Peter as a side note, do you have the means to reproduce a cylinder head like this / cast it? I'm not so interested in re-making these as I would be the LY engine heads.
  7. Hi Guys, Bumping this thread up again, so I can get door trims with the lock position 15cm from the rear of door card (earlier style) as opposed to later ones which were 25cm from rear. For measurements please see link here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13762-260z-door-cards-for-early-260zs/ Price is still $1,500 AU a pair. I have had a couple of people ask about these so just bumping this thread to see if there is anymore interest before I order them in.
  8. I think Alan is too humble to write a book and put his name on it. Or perhaps he is hoping Mr. Yoshihiko Matsuo will write 1 himself?
  9. Going to derail my own thread here, but how did the 180B SSS compare with the 140J SSS? They always had appeal for me.
  10. I am considering it, since it will be the first time I'll be able to bring my 72 240z out to it. Even though it needs a bunch of things done to it before I'd really be happy to present it, I think just having it there is a good thing though. I just haven't set my plans in concrete yet.
  11. Nice I've thought about doing this in Sydney because I can't find any reasonably priced places to store cars etc.. I may need a service like this in future (especially if members actually end up buying me a 120 WHY) haha. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13853-120why/ How does insurance usually work in a situation like this? Do you have an insurance policy that covers the event of fire or other natural disasters? Or is the onus on the vehicle owner? What happens if a car is stolen from the premises etc..?
  12. From what I understand any damage/pitting to the piston surface means you should replace it. But happy to be corrected on this.
  13. Yeah all those links are the same car. HS30 00675 https://picasaweb.google.com/107400787026175995661/HS3000675?authuser=0&feat=directlink Also noted in this thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13773-early-girl-bingo-with-photos/ Now that we are on the new software I'm going to work on creating a database / registry for S30z's.
  14. Nice pick up, indeed it does. http://classicthrottleshop.com.au/car4.html
  15. I can mention it, I think the delay is with the chrome plater for the inlays on the face etc. I'm not in a rush, just hope he doesn't forget about me.
  16. I'd say perfect for 3D printing, but I've been thinking about contacting some people about reproducing certain early S30z parts. http://www.240zrubberparts.com/ has reproduced quite a lot of stuff but I've been waiting 3 months for my Hitachi surrounds .
  17. No that is in km/h, 1970-73 AU delivered 240z's were all in MPH. The Japanese market had KM/H from the start I believe so it could be an early S30z Japanese Market speedo. Hard to confirm without a photo of the rear of it.

  19. Wow! Just wow!
  20. I believe that there are some differences between early 74 260z 2+2s and later model 260z 2+2s. Same with the 2 seaters Nissan made changes through the years to the body to strengthen them a bit more.
  21. I guess the other reason I ask was that I thought maybe someone knows of a 180B SSS coupe for sale or someone who has 1 and might sell it?
  22. I feel like anything less than $10k would be highway robbery for ANY 40 year old well looked after car. But that's just me. I initially thought $18K was high but maybe there is someone out there that really wants a 180B SSS coupe? At least my contact in the US of A does anyway .
  23. If anyone knows their value it's probably these blokes right? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Datsun-180B/15721718650
  24. I bought an entire console with ashtray and lid recently from the US still waiting for it to arrive. Hard to tell from the photos if the lid is any good. So will wait and see what I've got, the surround is cracked though. It came with a bonus hand throttle / choke knob bracket, which I'll be selling separate as surplus to my needs.
  25. No 240z floors are different to 260z ones. The 260z has more pressings in the floor for strength, where as the 240z has more 'flat' floor pans. Of course it depends on your level of restoration as to what you want?
