  1. Yeah that car is rushed in many ways, I'd rather buy an honest survivor if looking to restore. Having said that, it's an early build date. So pickings are slim.
  2. 78 280z looks cleanish. https://neworleans.craigslist.org/cto/5986560925.html
  3. Best part of the show was Ed, wheeler dealers was good because it was more substance in terms of the technical fixes and less fluff. Sounds like new producers want to churn out another "pimp my ride" or as the Irish version is known "scanger me banger". There's so many of these generic "fixer upper" shows in the US already that they are pretty much all the same now. Crap. With the popularity of Project Binky and other shows with technical chops, I actually hope Ed has a good crack at creating something with a bit of entertainment but also lots of technical details. No wonder the TV medium is dying...
  4. Yep. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/7105-robertos-pmc-enhanced-260z/
  5. Thanks a little more expensive than I would have liked for quality ones, might see if I can find some quality castor wheels and build a custom metal bracket with the mig welder. I tried to find some second hand ones on Gumtree, no luck yet.
  6. You thinking what I'm thinking B1?
  7. Useful L-series fuel injection diagnostic gear? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-Electronic-Fuel-Injection-Analyzer-Kent-Moore-J-25400-/272599728744?hash=item3f7835c268:g:rhAAAOSwuxFY0b8l&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-1979-Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-Transistor-Ignition-Tester-Kent-Moore-J-26350-/272599730588?hash=item3f7835c99c:g:oHYAAOSwol5Y0b~R&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true
  8. Yes I believe the North American 280z's with Fuel Injection had a different fuel tank set up and as a result had a smaller spare tyre well. They still came with a Topy wheel but had a space saver tyre with a tube to inflate it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-s30-inflatable-spare-flat-tire-kit-tool-240z-260z-280z-Nissan-280zx-tools-/192135182634 Not sure about the false floor thing, never seen it in an AU market car. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/63630-identifying-true-year-of-s30/
  9. As values continue to go up, parts like this will become available in my opinion.
  10. Is the same person who offered you the other car?
  11. I'm assuming an owner of a PS30-SB would be able to buy the sports optioned MK63 calipers and have those fitted to their purpose built race car at the time? Did the solid disc version of the MK63's utilise the existing standard rotors?
  12. Topy steel wheels were fitted to all cars from the factory (exception is later 260z's with alloys, PS30 with Kobe Seiko wheels), most were turfed, removed, fitted to trailers or lost to eternity of steel in the sky (or is that ground?). Like original hubcaps, now very hard to get.

I think I've seen 260z's with aircon fitted that have a shroud that looks factory. I guess it's possible most were turfed years ago when aircon was ripped out? The plastic version is an ok alternative if you just want the cooling improvement. Aesthetically I like seeing a metal shroud in an earlier car. Just suits the rest of the engine bay theme and feel.

I thought that's what you were on about, but zcardepot is not the same outfit as jdm-car-parts. https://jdm-car-parts.com/products/metal-fan-shroud-for-240z-genuine-nissan-reconditioned I was hoping someone was doing reproductions. I wonder if another car has a similar shroud that could be adapted to an S30Z radiator? $500 USD whilst understandable is a hard pill to swallow. When you factor in conversion rate + shipping of a large item. Could probably make 1 out of alloy sheet but would take ages and almost justifies $500 asking price.
  15. I am guessing you're looking for 1 to overbore to suit the LD28 crank? Can be a lucky dip finding 1 that will go out to 3.1 or 3.2 ltr..
  16. Hey Folks, Figured I'd ask here first. Anyone got any tips on buying these? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4PCS-WHEEL-DOLLY-VEHICLE-TROLLEY-GO-JACK-SKATE-MECHANICS-MOVER-POSITIONING-BLACK-/252795724333 I'm thinking I might get a set, would prefer to buy second hand than new but any tips on where to buy from or who offers a quality product at a reasonable price? I figure it would be useful for wheeling the car in and out of the shed for possibly working on it outside (weather permitting) while I do things that generate dust / crap etc..
  17. RHD Dashboard (S30Z) which appears to be out of a Fairlady Z-S (radio has no antenna switch) or auto-tune/seek function. http://page21.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j427438052 Big items like these are difficult and expensive to ship..
  18. 71B box with flange output (like 71A box). http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b251057100 I've seen 1 or 2 of these before, I believe it might be an "option" box but not 100% certain.
  19. Another 71 Z. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Datsun-Z-Series-/152478513877 Looks a bit more honest. US $17,500.00 buy it now. Will add details later.
  20. Nice Blue 71 Z for sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-/122407287878 US $7,300.00 current bid, no reserve. Will add details later.

    Where do you see that?

    Wtb Fan Shroud

I dunno why, but I always think of some poor sap in a suit and tie looking under the hood and leaning over with the tie on and getting caught in a spinning engine... I'm sure it's happened. Not sure of the outcome however... The big metal fan on early S30Z's does raise a few concerns vs the plastic version..
  23. Shameless self promotion here. But I listed a rally clock with oscillator for sale. Would rather it go to a local but up for highest bid. Reserve not disclosed. Going to see what the market will say. http://www.ebay.com/itm/262897213332
  24. Amelia Island seems a little stuffy..
