  1. Confucius say "those who pounce, end up with bonnet full of bog". Sorry couldn't resist.
  2. Nice 280z for sale. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/58742-fully-restored-1975-280z-rebello-racing-stroker-30l-immaculate-condition/ Restoration thread here: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/49193-my-datsun-280z-rustoration/ Asking: $25k USD
  3. I imported a good used grille from the US - Noticed I put the brackets on backwards at the bottom of mine.. Ooops.. Anyway I have some spare slats left over and the spokes that Alan gave me, I don't feel right putting it on eBay when Alan was kind enough to give them to me for free. So just wondering if anyone is in need of misc grille parts to fix their own grille by any chance? I can post photos of the spare bits when I get a chance, but rather move them on than have them get damaged in my storage. Maybe you have other knick knacks to swap in exchange?
  4. I think it's a 71 and the fact it's auto is unique for it's year, as very few were auto in 71. It's also 904 white with the blue interior. Possibly a sister car here? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/2560-240z-dump-or-restore/ If anyone gets the chassis no. please let me know!
  5. Now that looks worthwhile...I reckon that is an honest unit.
  6. Apparently it was because seller has now bumped price to $35k.
  7. Looks almost too good to be true? https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/_/SSE-AD-5026542?WT.seg_4=AutoAlert;PCAA&sdmvc=1&utm_campaign=bau&utm_medium=email&utm_source=transact&utm_content=autoalert&wt.z_driver=Email_SearchAlert?WT.seg_4=AutoAlert $27,500.
  8. That's the normal strut tower and transmission tunnel vinyl pieces. The carpets are in the foot well and rear hatch luggage area. There is also a piece that runs along the inner sill panel inside and behind the seats.
  9. This is cool, but I can't help but feel it's not for a 240z/260z and maybe it's for a Bolwell Nagari? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-240-260Z-FRONT-BONNET-CUSTOM-FIBREGLASS-/182822410268?hash=item2a9110981c:g:GgwAAOSwU9xZ3fHC
  10. It looks like a 71 model Fairlady 240ZG, export market cars had 20mph speedo's but I'm not sure if the km/h units used in Japan went from the same 20 -> 0 change over the years as the export market cars.
  11. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h286731905 Buy it now: 7,777,777 yen (AU$92,477.77) Another Fairlady 240ZG replica. Appears to be an RB25 conversion.
  12. Fairlady 240ZG replica. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c625463862 Buy it now: ~$59,450.00 AUD (5,000,000 yen) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9gwY6sACMU More images: https://box.yahoo.co.jp/guest/viewer?sid=box-l-nuw5mqiwsenmryjh4ebon42cjy-1001&uniqid=755ff3c6-e78f-4f4a-8cac-d9514174892a https://box.yahoo.co.jp/guest/viewer?sid=box-l-nuw5mqiwsenmryjh4ebon42cjy-1001&uniqid=cc3a4ddd-7cb0-43c0-8a64-2815dbaaca5d https://box.yahoo.co.jp/guest/viewer?sid=box-l-nuw5mqiwsenmryjh4ebon42cjy-1001&uniqid=dcc521c4-0872-4d50-9bfc-1cfbc9fc2422
  13. My 73 240z had those press studs. Can you take more photos of them?
  14. Sold already (according to gumtree), surprised it's not got more rust to be honest.
  15. Only on some of the Works Rally cars I've seen the radyot mirror mounted there. I tried to find a photo quickly, but best I can do for now. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11893-mirrorshas-anyone-seen-these-type-on-a-z-and-what-do-peoples-think/ *Edit, found some pics of HS30 00879 with them on the fenders.
  16. Ok early 240z carpets in here. https://photos.app.goo.gl/TuEH2FNTJTAOj1p62 Now not all the photos I took are original, I believe the foot well for passenger / driver side are the original style of loop pile carpet, you can see the thread was even a pinkish colour (if we want to be absolutely true to original). I believe the rear deck area (cargo area) carpet is a later made carpet, the vinyl in my car was covered with carpets that some previous owner did later. I've also got some carpets that were made up as replacements with these photos. You can see the differences. There is 2 cutouts on the rear of the carpets in the foot well for the carpet to hook into (so it doesn't slide about) on the rear side I saw what looks like vinyl glued on the rear, not sure if this was original or added later?
  17. HLS30 00503 11/69 build date. http://www.ebay.com/itm/192333897286 Starting bid: US $25,000.00 Reserve not met *Of HLS30's...
  18. Here is a 1970 240z in Safari Gold. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272884129501 Buy it now: US $21,500.00 Apparently VIN is in the HLS30 005XX range.
  19. I was going to take mine down to a local trimmer to see if he could reproduce them, but am still not sure if they are the loop pile carpets (original) let me take some photos and post them here.
  20. The wastegate screamer pipes out the inspection flaps is funny. The front grille looks like the star road version.
  21. I believe many fasteners are still available from Nissan particularly those for the engine as the L-series was used for so long on so many cars.
  22. 71 HLS30 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-240z-35/ Already at $33k USD with 4 days to go.
  23. Upgrading the rear brakes won't do a whole lot, majority of your braking is done with the front's. Things you can do to maximise your existing brakes. 1. Good tyres..no point upgrading brakes if you have average tyres. 2. Replace fluids and bleed brakes, consider replacing rubber brake hoses with stainless braided ones. 3. Good brake pads and brake pad material will greatly improve braking response. 4. Discs - how old? Are they within spec? If replacing pads might as well re-machine surface. If you want more from standard brakes from there (worried about brake fade?) you can get a spacer made between calipers to allow fitment of a vented disc. From there I'd look at: 1. 4 pot calipers (such as MK63 - bolt's on, fits under most wheels that stock brakes do). Or Toyota 4x4 Sumitomo calipers up front with vented discs. If you still want more, there is a plethora of brake kits out there. Personally I don't love the idea of R31 rear calipers on an S30Z, but make up your own mind? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/7330-tutorial-r31-skyline-rear-disc-conversion-for-240260z-new-300mm-rotor-conversion-sep2016/
  24. Well the fender repair was good, the cowl panel... hmmm not so much lol.. I have a spare cowl panel here that was given to me, it is also warped because of someone using a mig welder (so the whole panel has twisted) but that area that looks less than ideal on your 1 (passenger side upper corner) could probably be cut out and used. Let me know if you want it? I have good cowl panels on my cars (no previous owners did poor repair work on them). So I don't really have a use for it other than a spare.
  25. Looks like a harada manifold to suit triples. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.asp?id=1441199096&cc=602&pid=655111737&hbc=&member_hash=&ct=title-link&tm=email&et=602&mt=7f1f0d31-c106-4483-bc9a-c7464adf110f Buy Now $550.00 (NZD) - probably a little high...
