Buying the exhaust was a difficult (and expensive!) decision to make but I'm glad I paid a little extra for something I wanted first go instead of doing it twice.

 

Yeah, 9 months still surprises me to be honest. Stripping through 3 or 4 layers of paint, primer and body filler to get the shell to bare metal, doing the rust repairs, prepping it for paint.. it was time consuming and a massive learning experience money can't buy.

 

It really does feel good to finally be able to start her up and take her for a spin but I do miss the journey getting it here in the first place, call me crazy.

Mate did you do all the body work and paint? If so is it documented in your blog? I'd love to know more about how you did it all.

 

PS: What did you use to clean the engine bay up?

Hey Gav, everything except for the top coat was done by me at home, in the car port and garage I bit the bullet and got the colour coat done by a pro. With the amount of dust in my garage after blocking down the car, there was no other option really and I'm glad I took that route.

 

The engine bay was wiped down with degreaser and then gun wash for the more stubborn stuff. It was a simple sand after that before primer went on
