Heya fellas,

Been browsing this forum for a while now... Since I bought my first Z I figured I should sign up and introduce myself! My name is Alex and I'm a bit car mad like the rest of you  :P

I am currently a mechanical engineering student but this year I have taken a year off to some work experience full time. This meant I could buy my first Z! It's a 1975 260Z with an L28 (F54 block, N42 head), 240z carbs, flat top pistons (or so I have been told), electric dizzy, electric fuel pump, height adjustable coilovers with Koni inserts, half cage, harnesses and some superlites! I am hoping to get out to as many events and cruises as possible in the future and I'm sure I will probably be bugging you all with the million questions I am sure to ask :D

Cheers... and for good measure:

Thanks everyone... He did mention that he knew some of you guys! It's a really great car and I'm wrapped with it :D

My aim is to have the car on club plates and tuned for the cruise on the 27th. It all depends on when my club (CSA) finally gets approval from Vicroads to hand out club plates but we are hopeful that will only be a matter of days.

Yeah CSA. I'm waiting for Vicroads to finally give CSA permission to start handing out club plates, which from what I have been told is only a matter of days. I'll be one of the first cars to be inspected so I'm keen to see what they pass and what they don't.

I hope they are fairly relaxed and then maybe the club can see a few more Datsuns join the club.

Welcome...

A very nice and neat zed you have!...curious to what wheel and tyre size it is running? Are they 15's?

Where abouts are you located?

Thanks Zedman. The wheels are 15" and the tyres are 205/60 Dunlop Formula FM901... I think they look pretty rad and period correct but the gold isn't really doing it for me.

I'm from the Doncaster area but I don't think the zed is going to be staying here with me. I need to find a garage to keep it in as I couldn't bear seeing it slowly rot because I was too cheap to rent a garage for it.

How long ago Bruce? And George St where? I have only had the car since Saturday and I'm pretty sure I didn't go to George St or do anything that risky because the car is on a temporary rego permit.

Had it been out of your sight.....maybe a mechanic or something? My nephew had an incident with a mechanic doing burnouts in his car and only found out because a friend saw it all.
