KatoKid Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 OK guys, sorry for the delay. Been away on holidays and got a bit sidetracked with installing my long awaited engine! I'm going to send a PM to all of you as I want to handle this all by Email so I can include Vivian (cant stop thinking about The Young Ones when ever I see his name) from Harrington so once I have all personal Email addresses we can confirm details and the ball rolling. KatoKid Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 Personal Emails sent. If anyone else wants to jump on board you need to let me know in the next day or so. Quote
specialp3 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I went to the www and cannot see any number plate mounts on the front bumper. Are they exact replica's ?? Also, someone mentioned you can order the bumpers with the over rider holes, is that correct? And last question, are the rubber strips genuine Nissan? Trying keep an original look. Aaron Quote
mossy Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Any word on when the bumpers were sent David? Quote
KatoKid Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 Sydney order went 2 days ago. Melbourne this week. Quote
acf321 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Hi All, I bought a set and they are on my car now. My factory bumpers were going to be about $800 to restore (properly with triple chrome etc). The Harrington bars cost me $1040 delivered to my door, so the costs you guys are looking at seem OK, given the group discount. The quality is excellent and they DO have the OEM number plate holders on them too. No holes, so the over riders would need to be drilled in if you choose to fit later on. The rubber corners are aftermarket, and very very good as per replicas. I am a fanatic and I can't pick the difference. The ONE ISSUE however is that the ends of the rear bars has a slightly different profile to that of the OEM bars. The OEM has more of a rounded end, whereas Harrington has flatter style ends. Having said that, if you saw my car you would only know this because I've said it. The OTHER very slight difference is the fact that the bolts that hold the ends on the main part have slightly smaller diameter heads, that is the round head is a smaller diameter by about 50%. So if the OEM bolt has a head the size of your thumbnail, the Harrington heads are about the size of the nail on you pinky finger. For the value and convenience i would recommend the Harrington bars. I have not polished mine yet, but i suspect they will come up like mirrors once I do. Cheers Adam. Quote
FLEXZED Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 hey guys pick mine up today, awesome bar Thank you Dave for organising everything Loui Quote
KatoKid Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Good news, Melbourne ones shouldnt be to far off. Quote
Sirpent Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I have a 2+2 so would be interested in a front only. However I want one with no holes drilled as I don't want the rubber bits attached. Gravice, I would be interested in a rear one as I will have the front Nose, so if you are still interested PM me, we both get what we want And yes I realise these have already arrived however there will probably be more wanting to order in the not to distant future so the thread can become perpetual. roastbeef Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Yep, sydney ones have arrived. thanks a lot to Katokid for getting the ball rolling. I haven't been able to check the condition of the bumpers Loui as I am halfway around the other side of the world, but hopefully everything is ok! Quote
KatoKid Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 They're here! Arrived yesterday. Very well packed in a large cardbox box and each piece individually wrapped and identified as a set. Mossy was the only one who ordered rubbers to be fitted the rest of us went the shiny nude look. Only problem is that the rubbers that we all ordered (except Mossy as his were installed) were missing. Will chase Harrington for them. Very pleased with the look, brackets and quality. Still to bolt them to a car but don't think my opinion will change. David Quote
handsandwhich Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Picked up my set from David's place today. Quality is awesome, almost too good to actually put on the car. Now to make reproduction panels in stainless steel as well. Thanks again David for organizing this and will wait to hear about what happened with the bumpers. Quote
