Gordo Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Well done mick, did you use all the rubber on your tires? Quote
Scando Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Well done Mick! I noticed you were towards the pointy end of the result at Highclere hillclimb. Must really be getting the car sorted now. Pitty about the blue Z, that was a pretty tidy car :-\ Quote
zed240au Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Thanks guys was a good year managed to get out and have some fun in the zed ran all our clubs tarmac events plus the state hillclimb championship car ran sweet all year no issues apart from a dodgy oil pressure sender on the track day at symons was a nervous first few laps driving around with gauge reading nothing. Ended up winning class in state series and third outright. Mick from dover in his 240z ended up second outright only beaten by a hillclimb special Was sad to see jasons car after he punted the wall but im sure it will fix up good with visit to the chassis jig The go kart track event was a total hoot all second gear and just control the slide still put in a reasonable time Afraid the new federal tyres are looking bit sad now just enough left in them for powercruise at the end of january .Will need some new rubber for next years events trying to decide what to run advans seem the go Mick Quote
PZG302 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Mick, if your class allows slicks, Porsche Cup or GT3 Challenge fronts are what I used and you shoould be able to get tyres used for qually only for around $400 a set and will last you most of the season, just take a little to warm up though. And be warned if you do the the slicks, once you have used them you wont want to go back to semis..... Quote
luvemfast Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 What size are the slicks? I'm thinking of getting wider rims, maybe 9's front and 10's rear. They'll fit inside my guards too Quote
PZG302 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Porsche cup fronts are 240/640/18, so 240 wide, 640 diameter and for 18"s and will fit on an 8 to 9 1/2 inch wide rim. rears I can't rememebr off the top of my head for width, I think around 280 wide and will fit a 10 to 12 inch wide rim. Quote
luvemfast Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 You're tempting me with those front tyre sizes......... Need to check offsets though. Anyone know differences from S30 to S130's? Quote

luvemfast Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Matt is also selling some nice 18s as well....should look good on your 280 Simon.. Yes. I've messaged Matt already about rims. Waiting for him to get back with some measurements. Quote
zed240au Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 After playing with the ls1 for couple of years its getting a bit tame so decided to go with more cubes it all measures up good just need to rebuild and make some mounts oh and maybe beef the 6 speed box up mick Quote
620Z Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Wow where did you get that Mick? Looks like a bit of work if you are going to put that in. Quote
zed240au Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 came out of a customers dodge ram truck Quote
620Z Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Awesome. Me thinks a you got a lot of work ahead of you (and cash) to get that in the Zed. Still would be a great project. At least you can keep your Zed running in the mean time. I still think an engine like that might be better in a 2+2 for the benefit of the longer wheel base. But I guess I am a little biased. Ha I would be looking for 650-700bhp out of it otherwise you might as well work on upgrading the Chev. Keep us up to date as progress moves a long. Cheers Quote
Cozza Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Awesome, is it the 488 or the 505 c.i. Can you post a pic of the heads please? Cozza Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 14, 2013 Moderators Posted January 14, 2013 a nice combination.. Quote
