Zcar Stolen - Help Find This Z - Reward.

Hi Everyone,

I was contact today by a fellow Zcar owner. He's understandably shattered that his baby was stolen.

 

If anyone spots a car with the description please contact me or the owner.

Please Help

 

Between 12 am & 6 am on Friday 10th September my red and white Datsun 260Z Race Car red

tandem trailer and Burgundy 1995 Toyota surf was stolen from Riviera Street Mentone.

I have built this car with little money and my own hands to enjoy a little car club motor

sport.

We loaded it on the trailer last night for its first outing at an open track day this Friday

at Winton in preparation for Sandown�s event later in September.

To say the least I am shattered and willing to give a reward for any information that

assists in the recovery of my pride and joy.

I'd be keeping an eye out for a burnt out or dumped Surf first, this will/should give some clue to the Z's whereabouts, the Z by now will likely be stripped down unless they respray it and remove the numbers using it for the same purpose (racing).

Are there any identifiable parts on it that only the owner knows about? In case someone tries to sell them off...

where is Mentone ? is it in NSW, rural Victoria ??

Mentone is S/E melbourne suburb

 

I will definatly keep my eye out for a fellow zed racer. I would be shattered if this happened to my racecar!

Sorry guys, I only know as much as you do. He just contacted me yesterday. Haven't heard back from him yet.

 

I'd say a 2+2 race car is quite rare, compared with the 2 seaters anyway.

the worst bit about this, is it sounds like whoever targeted it, knew what they were doing, and knows about zeds and what they are worth.

 

i would wager that at some time (and possibly still) they have been on this site, or similar ones. Or are generally involved in the general zed scene.

Good news on the stolen zed, it was recovered in nearby street. unfortunately minus the 4wd and trailer.

There was an article in my local paper (mordi leader), with a picture of the car and the relieved owner.

The article said there was minor damage to the zed, in the photo however i couldn't see any damage. In fact it looks great.

Good to hear, though being a 4wd enthusiast aswell, a little crap about the Surf aswell.

Ah. So they were after the 4WD and trailer. Probably a good thing, as the owner would probably have insurance for them, but maybe not on the race car, being a purpose built track car.
