Hi Guys,

Is there anyone on Sydney northern beaches who can aid with some classic cars experience to a newbie?

I have few bits of general questions which would be easier to discuss over a beer than spamming the forum :)

Cheers,
Kuba

I'm in the Inner West if you wanted to catch up at some point, but I reckon maybe we should have an Auszcar Beer night (responsible drinking) somewhere?

Maybe out towards Home and Away area. :D

Alternatively MotorRetro have been doing events here and there (show n' shine) and I missed the last 1 last week.

http://motorretro.com.au/

Could possibly piggy back on that.

They post events on their FB page.

Motorretro looks interesting, I was looking at similar workshop some time ago. But they don't seem to have any events lined up at the moment.

Sounds like a beer night then, I'm happy to meet somewhere more central too.

So I think it would be good if we could get a few of us together (it's been a while since we all met up in person).

So a few ideas on meet up location:

Not sure what parking is like.

https://www.queensparkshed.com.au/

Serves beer and open late weekends - has parking out front of park (keep an eye on cars etc..).

Balmoral Boat Shed.

http://www.theboathousebb.com.au/#about

Similar to above has parking out front.

The Laneway Cammeray - Has Free 2 hour car park.

https://lanewaycafecammeray.com.au/

Kirribilli - parking may be a pain... but The Throttle Shop is also there and has a cafe (not sure on opening times for their cafe though).

https://classicthrottleshop.com/

Rising Sun Garage in Newtown. - Parking may be an issue.

Open to other suggestions?

Hi

I would be keen to catch up for a beer and chat.

If there is only a few attendees (5 or 6 cars) would be happy to host at my place, in Hornsby.

We are down a private rd so plenty safe parking

Beers and a BBQ ?

We could consider a quick run up the road before hand ?

Cheers

Sounds like a good idea Peter, however this might also be an option?

Hi Mate

Spencer should be a good run, but may not provide the Q&A type enviroment that Kuba was hoping for.

I would not be adverse to also having an AusZcar catch up.

Lets see what the rest of the guys want to do ?

Cheers

Hi Guys,

I'm easy and can do either BBQ at Peter's or one of the places Gav suggested. I'll plan to drive to Spencer too, but yeah I was hoping to a bit more of a chat than a drive.

Anyhow with the ANZAC day maybe let's wait for a bit to see if there will any more attendees and decide the spot?

I think you are seriously underestimating the maturity of the active members on this forum.

+1 for BBQ at PB's.

What about something similar to the family bbq we did a few years ago - then cars are definitely parked within line of sight.  The riverside park at Wiseman's ferry is pretty good (as well as fun to get to), or the place we went last time was good (I can't remember where it was but I'm sure Pete would).

Good stuff!

Thanks for help to get this organised :)

Happy to help, it will be good catch up with the guys for a chat and talk Z's

Now we just need to sort out numbers and I will get some finer details organised.

Cheers

Looks like the Old Chev will also be at my place on the weekend of the BBQ.

Should I bring a bag of coal and shovel then?

Is it a Spear and Jackson #3?

Not sure how many folks would actually now what one is these days.

I used one, or something very similar, years ago feeding a DD-17 (1049)

The Chev runs happily on ULP these days.

Lol.

Sorry, this is completely off topic. But that reminded me of something the misses said to me yesterday. Apparently I remind her of this..

I'm sure a few of us have partners that can relate to this :)

Too funny. I had a girlfriend issue that ultimatum once, years ago - I hope she is happy, where ever she is these days.
