C.A.R. Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Terrible grammar as usual, Pauly... My guess: 3-4k. 2+2's are awfully hard to price because they vary in condition & specs so much. Quote
JP240z Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Ah at least we got a few comma's in there Pauly. A+. Quote
HELLFIRE! Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 You could advertise for $6,000 and accept $5,000 Best idea is to not be in a hurry to sell, but circumstances usually throw this concept out of the window. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 10, 2008 Administrators Posted March 10, 2008 Generally the less rust and better the body condition of a Z the higher its value. If your 2+2 is very straight and from the sound of mechanically good it could get anywhere in the range of $3k - $10k. Quote
620Z Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I love Lurch's usual tact. But he is probably close to the mark in regards to price. I guess it really needs to be sighted and the main issue would be the condition on the body and interior. But when you start talking about gear box's and synchros etc. This will drag your price well down. You might even be better off selling the car without being painted. Save $1,000- or what ever and then someone buying it can see if it was going to be a half baked job or not. Quote
Toecutter Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 hmmm...how much is it worth Pauly. If you were selling it to me I would say $1000 but to any body else any where from $2000 to $10,000 hehe Just kidding mate, hard to say without detailed pics Sulio Quote
reverendzed Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Hey Pauly, It all depends on what someone is willing to pay, if you are going to sell, advertise it with all of the positives right up front (the engine mods etc.) and let people know that an incredible opportunity exists for them to paint the car in the color of their choice!...WOW how many opportunities do you get like that? All the best if you decide to sell.....for my thoughts I think that you are in the 2500-3K bracket but then again....the market determines what's fair! Rev. Quote
QLDZZZ Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Maybe your concern shouldn't be how much the car is worth, but how much will it cost to get someone to take it away!!!!! There are some 2+2s currently advertised on car sales for mid to high teens ( Some very ordinary cars I might add, what are they thinking?), and I gather because of this some people form the impression even the poorest example is worth $5000. How much is your car worth? I think you know it's value, but you are hoping someone will tell you it is worth a lot more. Quote
maddos Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Considering some pretty nice examples going for under 3 lately, I'd say 2 is pushing it, but hey if it has rego it's always a plus. Guess the others are right about price varying depending on where they seem to be advertised. Quote
pauly_adams Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 it will be getting painted this week i was thinking after it was painted about $6500 with 12 months rego whicdh i think is fair if un reg $5700. there is also quite a few spare part, more pics to come. cheers pauly Quote
620Z Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 What's the deal with the front indicators? Also the front and rear mags are different in the picture? Not sure about the retro colour for the interior. With new paint realistically you will be lucky to get 4K. I am tipping the new paint job will be a cheapo job which will show up the uneven surfaces from all that part filler and part sanding. Most people will see through this. That's why I wouldn't be painting it first. All you are doing is throwing good money away that you won't get back. But like QLDZZZ said I think you probably know what it's worth and just hoping for better. Remember we are talking Datsuns here not GTHO's. Quote
pauly_adams Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 its getting a bare matal resrpray and what looks to be filler isnt its primersurfacer and yes i also thort it was bog. but i do agree with you about it being a datto, but im yet to see a 2+2 unlmolested and that doesnt contain 10kg of bog mine has less than 500g and that was gorrila hair not plain old bog. as for the indercator i have know idea why the last owners done that. if push come to shove and i cant get what im afte it will be getting parted which i dont think should be done but all the parts are less than 6months old and you goto do what you goto do cheers pauly Quote
Glen Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 best thing you can do is take as many pictures of it now before you spray, when i bought mine cameron pulled out an album of the full restoration. I could see where there was little rust and i could also see how it was removed etc etc. It's very re-assuring if your going to do a respray that the buyer can see what condition the body was in before. Take as many pictures as you can so the whole body is covered in detail. Speaking of prices i paid top dollar for mine maybe even more than what other people would pay for a 2+2 but interior and exterior is perfect. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a198/glen73/Picture009.jpg Quote
620Z Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 It would be a shame to part out the car after the respray. Good luck with it Pauly. Quote
pauly_adams Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 also i revoke the straitest body for a 2+2 as yours looks emaculate and your right about the pictures too cheers pauly Quote

It may attract some and turn others away. It would turn me away but thats just me. You would want to try and fix second gear aswell. If that was all done, painted and drove nicely you could try for $6000 maybe $7000 if it ran sweet. --- If the car doesnt drive nicely, and looks a bit dodge then i would say $3000-$4000. I went up to Zfactory today, he has a straight 2+2 with little rust, paint was gone, interior was messy and it had flat carbs. It started but has been sitting for a long time. Was an auto aswell He wanted $2000 for that. so going off the Zfactory car today i think yours is worth $3000 in its current condition right now maybe $4000 with RWC. Quote
620Z Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Thanks for the comments Pauly. I agree about the comments re interior they would turn me off a little as well. But you never know a buyer might want to gut it for racing or change seats and a few other things. Unfortunately there are too many reasons buyers want these cars. Too hard to please them all. But keeping things original and basic would be the ideal situation. Quote
pauly_adams Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 well im not too sure what i will be doing with the old duck but parting it would be a last resort, by the way it hawls ass kills commodores, sounds great and running gear is fine but i will see what happerns after painting, i may even just put it in the shed and buy another car also smokes my brothers na 300zx. also forgot to mention i have two sets of rims and the reason why the ones on the car are different are due to rwc thanks for you comments and ill let you all know how the car goes and i may even see some of you at the next club meating 3 hour trip for me though. cheers pauly Quote
