zeds4ever Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 For sale: Brand new front & rear King springs KDRS-09/KDFL-04 code numbers ,lower by 30mm. $220 pls pstge or pick up in Sydney area. Regards: Alan. Have checked out "Kings" catalogue which states KDRS-09 fits rear of 70-79 260Z & also rear of 70-75 240Z however it shows the 240Z as being a standard height set up & a different code for the lower version. KDFL-04 fits the 70-79 260Z only. Will contact Kings mon to seek confirmation that this is all correct. Will save a lot of conjecture methinks. Quote

andyk_79 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 240's and Im guessing early 260's use kdrl09 and kdfl08. Quote
zeds4ever Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 To save a lot of guessing have checked out catalogue for correct info, see original post. But will ring "Kings" mon to verify. Regards: Alan. Quote
Riceburner Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 So what it the difference, later models have heavier spring rates? Quote
zeds4ever Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Not sure gareth, my guess is that the 240Z are slightly less in diameter on the front springs & the strength factor different too with the 260Z being heavier. Will know on mon when I talk to "King" technical people. Trying to fathom how the rear lower (30mm) 260Z king spring is only standard for the 240Z .Yet when you use the 240Z top on a rear 260Z it lowers the car up to (50mm), but if you use the same top on the front unit of a 260Z it doesn't alter the hght. All will be revealed I hope. Regards: Alan. Quote
andyk_79 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 The standard 260 2+2 strut tops were significantly thicker than the 240. The front strut tops were the same in the 240, 260 and 280. That's why a 240 rear strut top lowers a 260. The 240 strut tops are identical front and rear. Quote
zeds4ever Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 At least you got that right. Your previous post info was for 240Z 70/75 lowrd springs not 260Z. Regards: Alan Quote

zeds4ever Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Yep the 240Z part was correct, but not the 260Z. Will get all the relevent info on mon & post so that there is no confusion. As I cant understand how in the catalogue it states that the KDRL-09 lowers the 260Z some 30MM yet it lists it as being a stndrd for the 240Z. Got me buggered. Regards: Alan Quote
