Administrators gav240z Posted May 29, 2014 Administrators Posted May 29, 2014 I predict a troll..just saying.. You should put a straight 6 rotary in it. Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Lol, straight 6 rotary would be NUTS!!! Now that would be a rotary with Torque! VG38dett??? Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 You should put a straight 6 rotary in it. One straight 6 rotary coming up Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted May 29, 2014 Moderators Posted May 29, 2014 I predict a troll..just saying.. You should put a straight 6 rotary in it. And maybe a Flux Capacitor while your at it, bring on 1.21 Gigawatts and 88MPH Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 What is the most powerful v6 engine you can put in a datsun 260z? Concentrate on getting the Z roadworthy'd & rego'd first mate - then look at modifying it BUT FWIW Buick do a 5.3ltr Bowtie V6 - 600hp. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 30, 2014 Administrators Posted May 30, 2014 One straight 6 rotary coming up Yeah that's why I said it LOL... it's a 6 technically But in fairness you only need 3 rotors N/A http://youtu.be/6MgN_vvneOk?t=10m21s Check out the acceleration on the 3 rotor FD . Imagine that in an S30z. I wonder if it would be P-plate legal? After all it's not a turbo and it's not a V8. But seriously I think the OP must be a young fella looking for an engine swap that is P-plate legal. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 30, 2014 Moderators Posted May 30, 2014 I was looking for the second part of the sentence reading " I'm only a student with limited funds living in a unit with only basic tools and NFI" Quote
d3c0y Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Lol, straight 6 rotary would be NUTS!!! Now that would be a rotary with Torque! VG38dett??? VR38DETT buddy... there is more than one nissan V6 I wonder if it would be P-plate legal? After all it's not a turbo and it's not a V8. in QLD you arent allowed anything over a 12A so i think you have rotary P issues wayyyy before that. Quote
fairladyz Posted July 5, 2014 Author Posted July 5, 2014 How much cash are you willing to throw at it? and why a V6? between 2-3k and it's just a theory build at the Moment I don't want to do anything to my z till I decide every part I want Quote
fairladyz Posted July 5, 2014 Author Posted July 5, 2014 Concentrate on getting the Z roadworthy'd & rego'd first mate - then look at modifying it BUT FWIW Buick do a 5.3ltr Bowtie V6 - 600hp. I'm just curious haha Quote
George Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 What is it that you want to do with this car? $2-3k gets you very little unfortunately. :-\ Quote
DreamZproject Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Lol for 2-3k l28et would be the only thing close and you would still find it tight on that budget. Quote
dat2kman Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 So, This "straight 6 rotary" is that like, 6 rotors in 6 housings, that would end up being about the same o/all length of a normal straight 6 nissan. Each rotor has 3 combustion chambers, and using 13b rotors, each has a capacity of 654 cc So,,,,,, 18 combustion chambers, and 3924 cc"s. That'd work! Quote
fairladyz Posted July 5, 2014 Author Posted July 5, 2014 Actually I could probably do 5k it would just be a little bit of a wait and I just want a little more power stock just isn't cutting it anymore Quote
DreamZproject Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I'd love, and realistically can see a vq35 in mine one day. They don't cost a whole heap, and have a ton of power. But would be a little tricky to install over a L28et. Quote
d3c0y Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 You can buy a kit to do it: https://hokeperformance.squarespace.com/vq240z-build Quote
