After the Z I have always liked the Celica especially the Supra in this model. The first Supra. This car is a one owner and I got it cheap and is more of an investment at this stage. It is auto with o/drive with air and power steer. Never been out a garage and only done 7k klm per year of its life. All receipts in glove box. It will fit in the shed Aub beside the Z only thing I will have to toss a coin now to see which car I take for a drive. Will post some more pics when I get around to take them. The Celica XX Supra was the first Supra, based on the A40 chassis was the first Supra (MA46). It was called Supra in markets outside of Japan, but I dont believe it was ever sold in Australia. The Mk2 is the one you are thinking of, based on the Celica you have, but a whole lot better looking with its flares, roof spoiler and pop up headlights. We had a limited edition 1980, black Ra40 hatchback, came with sunroof and pneumatic cruise control ,when mum let me take it to school , it was the proudest day of my life, I was the coolest kid in year 12, and that car and my mullet attracted the chicks from everywhere... we also had a damn ugly and rare 84 model (same as yours) coupe with the bootlid, it was beige and it was a convertible, one of 80 made. My grandfather's best friend was Albert Tucker (a well known artist in Melbourne) and he had a copper brown 1 just like this. I distinctively recall seeing it parked in our street when he came around to visit. As with many other Japanese cars at the time I was always impressed with the amount of gadgets they seem to have. My grandfather was an artist also, but too shy to really show his work publicly like Albert he had a similar style a bit dark, odd and edgy. I always thought it was a shame he wasn't better known for it. But art is subjective and everyone has an opinion. My grandfather drove a Mitsubishi Magna of the same era with the digital dash which I thought was cool and made it extra luxurious. That's the thing about old cars like these they bring back a lot of memories and everyone has had different experiences around them. Kind of unlike any other kind of object you can own really.
