HSD coilover sleeve kits
« on: April 01, 2009, 02:13:57 PM »
New product I just got in, unlike most weld-on coilover sleeve kits on the market these come with springs AND helper springs AND spanners.
Everything you see in the pic is one set, which is $299. Two pairs for $500.
The 51mm sleeves to suit 240Zs (front or back) come with a choice of 4kg or 5kg springs (224lb or 280lb). I can also supply other rates if needed. The top spring locator has a small 8mm hole so it can be drilled out to suit your struts. Other than that you should just need a few washers to make everything sit right.
PM me if you want a set.

I will get these made in about two months. We will have to use 70mm ID springs to suit.

55mm sleeve kits are now in stock to suit 260Z struts at $299 a pair.
The 55mm kits use a 70mm inside diameter spring. At this stage we have only 6kg/mm in stock but we can order different rates if you need them.
There is a stepped spacer between the main spring and the helper spring, which is still 65mm ID.
Call 02 8677 4890 to order or PM me.

Do they come with instructions like how far up your existing struts to cut and weld etc.

nope, no instructions.

i figure that i'll measure how high up the origional perch was, then grind it off.

I'll section out the 2 inches for shock travel (and use the appropriate inserts)
From there, the highest setting on the sleeve when welded at the top of the strut tube should be close to standard height, obviously checked against the origional perch height.
That doesnt take into account of the spring length though.
Should be close enough to have more then enough adjustment.

I've done it & there is a bit of stuffing around.
I didn't section the strut tubes though (shudder), but you will have to run a shorter damper insert.
FWIW a couple of 2inch exhaust clamps are your friends... ;)
