  1. alright my updating on this site has been very poor... for now on if you want to follow or check out the build which im hoping to get more progress underway now, you will be able to follow it on facebook under the name "Jason Bondi-Datsun" its a page dedicated to my car... thanks guys, maybe ill get around to more updates on this site eventually but at the moment its so much easier for me to upload photos direct off my phone onto facebook and post updates on there thanks Jason
  2. Well its been slow, ill put it that way... too much other stuff going on to concentrate enough on this thing but hopefully over the next couple of months i should be able to get a lot of the work done... Shipped my suspension over to Ben in NSW to get kitted out with coilover suspension, will hopefully have enough money to get my sway bars and Rims sorted out shortly. The sump has come up fairly well, need to buy some new rubber engine mounts so i know the height the engine will sit to check for crossmember clearence and also get my steering rack rebuilt... well there is a lot to go but slowly i am making a bit of progress... i made all of my intercooler piping couple weeks ago so i will post those photos next couple of nights Thanks Jason
  3. email sent
  4. couple photos Inlet manifold cut and re-welded so that it now fits and wont hit inner guard, turbo is all bolted up, original oil feed line was modified to suit, spacer plate was remade and now fits perfect! sump is close to completion... needing to find some time and put some effort in! hopefully will update more frequently and work on it more frequently! thanks guys
  5. Hey guys n girls! Wow its been like probs around 5 months since my last post... all i can say is life got busy and the car took the back seat... anyways ive been getting stuck back into it lately luckily and have started with; - modifying sump - Spacer made for turbo - Modifying turbo to suit - Modifying oil lines and blocking waterlines - Trying to sus out my fuel system which will now include a surge tank - New N1 oil and water pump installed - New timing belt, tensioner, idler installed - Rocker covers painted - Rebuilt Alternator and Starter Motor(thanks Jonny) Anyways the car is starting to like like maybe one day it could come together i just need to find the time haha Take care Sorry for Delays! Jason
  6. hey guys, sorry if its been covered, only got 2 mins left on break so i cant search and thought mayb by lunch some1 would be able to point me in the right direction but am i able to run 51mm struts with coilovers in a late 260 which has 55mm struts? thanx Jason
  7. hey mate! been working bulk for the last two weeks! only got back onto the beast last night. working on fabbing up an aluminium surge tank as ive worked out im going to need a surge tank in the system... got a carter lift pump, around 7L/min which will keep her topped up nicely cheers Jason
  8. hey mate hows it going, im currently doing an rb25det conversion, can be found in memebers project forum, awesome setup but if you wanna do it properly its definately gonna start adding up... i have spent about 28k so far on parts alone, without suspension, diff, rims n tyres, oh plus interior(seats, gauges ect) haha oh plus paint. yes its definately not cheap but with that i will have a pretty solid car! will end up around i spose the 40k mark... dam im stupid to spend that at 18 on an apprentice wage but hey live and learn definately go rb25, dont even consider 20, waste of time imo... for the extra 1000 or so when you look at it 39000 or 40000... 1000 isnt that big of a deal and you will be thankful you have an extra half a litre anyways im prob just goin on by now so all i say is best of luck hope you have a car your happy with which ever way you go Jason
  9. yeh for boost solenoid i plan on keeping that very close... i have always used silicon vaccum and havnt noticed problems but not to say it isnt a problem... but yeh this is becoming a cool thread, lots of tech stuff coming out:) keep it up guys its good hearing it

  11. hey Brad! Thanks your your input! really appreciate that, this is first car ive had a MAP sensor and i appreciate that advice, ill definately position it higher than the manifold in that case! benifits of telling everyone exactly what and how im doing everything on my build! thanks again Jason

  17. i got them through ashdwon ingram, they are available through most auto electrical suppliers, dont know, maybe you could go to the hella website and find a local supplier if you dont have an ashdown ingram
  18. got some shaping to do with the fuel area but its a start:) plugged another of the holes in the rear bumper, only one left now...
  19. sure mate, they are Brand- Hella Type- Matrix (stop/tail, indicator) the reverse is some kind of Hella step light or something as they dont make reverse in that style... all are led's there is a cheaper alternative which has reverse in the range which means its the same size as the rest, that brand is called "LED" Cheers Jason
  20. thanks guys for the comments! yeh its definately something different that i got in my mind and i just went for it:) i wanted something different to the standard lights and i really didnt like any of the round ones i sore so i splashed out 500 for these suckers haha. uploading some pics of the progress i have made with the fuel door area atm thanks Jason
  21. hey guys, as i mentioned earlier i have been working on my rear lights... its something different and something i havnt seen on a z car, mayb someone else has but im not sure involved a fair bit of custom work... i needed to replace the section above(bottom of rear hatch) so there was always going to be a fair bit of custom work happening... pretty much a reconstruction:) hope you guys enjoy, give me your comments although i know a lot of people hate seeing the rear end molested haha Jason
  22. hey mate, thanks:) im currently working on my rear light install today, hopefully will be fairly close to finishing that by some time late tonight and ill post some pretty interesting pics:) hope you guys enjoy the route i took with the rear lights, its different but i quite like it Jason
  23. some smoothing of my firewall:)
  24. hey guys, got a few more pics for everyone:) plugged a few holes in the firewall, mounted up the coils, welded some nuts on to mount fuel pressure reg and MAP sensor. i also mounted my brake proportion valve, found a nice easy/practical/hidden spot for it(it wont be used seriously for racing, only for setup mainly so thats why it will be ok where it is) well yeh the pics will follow:) thanx Jason
