  1. I got mine through Motorsport Auto (zcarparts.com). Easy to deal with and they can post to us in NZ.
  2. Mike, You need to prioritise. Summers on the way - there is no need for a heater! And if you had have spent more time in the shed working on the Zed you wouldn't find yourself in this third child predicament. Good luck with the arrival of the third one.
  3. You could just fatten the little lady up a bit to even the other side up. Over here we just select a larger sheep ....
  4. Zrevival - Ahh but you have the simmons, now it doesn't matter what you do it's gonna look good!!
  5. "Essence" a hybrid concept I believe.
  6. I have 5kg's in the front, 4kg's in the rear. With the intention of replacing the rears with 6kg springs. The front still feels "soft" with 5kg's, but I will try swapping the current front / rear combo before I order some 6kg springs.
  7. By cutting out 50mm from the struts, I was able to use the old 240z front shocks on the back and a set of KYB's for toyota celica on the front. So I guess you should be able to get Koni's to fit. Until I put a set of 6mm/kg springs for the back I can not comment on the damping (stupidly put soft springs at rear, and have not changed yet until new springs are ordered). Strongly don't recommend anyone else try this, as the ride is not good - like an old fishing trawler.
  8. Garages are supose to be messy - that keeps the wife away. I'm in Albany. My one is due a full rebuild. But the last reto job is still lurking unfinished in a corner of the garage, 11 years and $20k over budget - oh well these things take time. Cheers, Karl
  9. Hey Mike, Looking great. Any chance of a club day meet at your place to view the build (give us all some inspiration).
  10. Struggling to get photos up...sorry. Looks same as Lurch's photos except I cut out 50mm of strut (above and below the spring perch. Then butt welded the top part of the strut (threaded bit) onto the lower part of the strut. Welds were ground flush and the threaded adjustable sleeve was slipped over the newly welded setction. The threaded sleeve was then welded at the top and bottom. Ride height - originally there was 80mm between the top of the tyres and the guard lip. Now it's droped to 10mm. Lurch - so you recommend firmer rate springs on the rear than the front?
  11. I'll take some photos today, then post them along with the before's and the coils as they were done. You can drop the car as much as you like with this kit. There is a good 100mm of adjustment. Over here we are limited to 100mm of clearance from the road to the lowest part of the chasis, that is where i have set mine to, but there is plenty of travel left for track days. Actually.... I'll have to figure out how to post photos first. Sorry just a dumb Kiwi, we're not use to these damn fangiled computer thingees.
  12. I have just finished fitting this kit. Was fairly straight forward (after some advice from Lurch). I sectioned about 48mm from the front and 46mm from the rear struts, used the old front shocks on the rear and got some shorter fronts from a toyota celica. The feel is a bit soft (about as firm as the original set up), not sure if this is the spring rate or the shocks. Also a larger sway bar might tighten it up a bit. I believe the kit came with 4mm/kg rear and 5mm/kg front, so maybe a 6mm/kg front set and swap the 5mm/kg to the rear would feel better. yes the 2" exhaust clamps help a lot, but remember that the car will drop about 10mm or so once the car has been driven a bit.
  13. Go the green!! I have one in this colour, and it certainly gets commented on (for better or worse). The other benefit is you will never lose it in a car park.
  14. Hi Ben, Coilover kits arrived in Auckland yesterday. Fantastic, cheers for dropping them off to my supplier. Great service. Have you or any other's out there fitted these up yet? any issues or tips before I get cutting / welding.
