Hey guys,

Does anyone know whats going on with the zspares site and when exactly its coming online. Also where are they situated, i will hopefully (fingers-crossed) own my first z car next week and want to know what parts are on hand if needed. I cant wait to finally own one :P

One last thing, if anyone has a list of all there parts and the prices (doesnt matter if its old just want a rough idea). I emailed the guys down there but have not heard anything as yet.

Cheers,

It's run out of Zshop, so call lindsay and he should be able to let you know. They can be pretty expensive, but they do have some rust repair panels and things like that pretty cheap, eg. inspection flaps, quarter panels, scuttle panel..

I've heard some rumors about that, heart troubles, tax probs etc...a friend tried calling but no answer...Anyone know the real reason?

I don't think anyone knows the real story, so probably not worth speculating.  I guess the important thing is that Zed owners in Melbourne put their business with those who have some integrity.

ok so i picked up my first Z today and was wondering where a good place would be to source spares and setup some tripple carbs for me later down the track. ATM i think it is only running on 3-4 cyclinders and im thinking ignition problems.

edit, im in melbourne aswell :) SE suburbs.

This guy not only knows his stuff but in my conversations and dealing with him had that important quality called 'INTEGRITY' I think other guys on the forum would back this up also.

Isn't that Rob down at Z Factory?

If so, I'm sure heaps of people on here know him

Yes it is! I've known him for about 13 years. It will be hard to find anyone else in Melbourne who knows a Zed better than Rob! Best for bodywork etc...

Thanks for the quick replys pauly and Rev, i have a new rotor button + and leads sitting here and getting some new plugs tomorrow. Hopefully like you said cleaning up the points/cap aswell it will start and purrrrrrr. ATM no rev tacho either, it comes on, rises and then is now stuck at 2900 RPM. No tacho light aswell and no heater fan.... the list is getting longer but not to long.

cheers

I spoke with the ZFactory the other day and was impressed by his attitude. He was talking about expanding the listings on the on line store.

Number 6.

Personally I only really had a couple of experiences with Zshop and lets just say they sold me a so called reco alternator that was "about as reconditioned as my a**hole". To quote my favorite Australian movie - The Big Steal.

I dont get why nobody wants to say exactly what happened?

Pretty sure the supreme court hasnt banned victorians from speaking about every crime.

I thinks it more or less because we don't exactly know. We hear all kinds of rumours to be honest. As I said above I only met the guy a couple of times and I didn't have the best experiences in terms of service from the business, hence the reason I never recommended them.

I will say he had to know his stuff, he had built some good cars and engines ( L28's ) but I think many will agree that they didn't have the best service from Zshop, while others did.

I'll be the first to admit though I have no idea what happened but I've heard a few different stories, some involving health issues and some involving illegal activity.

Due to the websites own terms and conditions we cannot speak about acts of criminal activity and we also cannot speculate without any hard facts.

Yeah nah I can back that up.

The guy was a royal douche who was pointless to deal with.

Just wondered what had happened.

wow!! havnt some people got to express some opinions on what is going on with lindsay from the Z shop,  isnt it amazing that the forum vic Z car club is only stating negative aspects to the situation, so i wou;d like to take this time to shed some bright lights on the positive aspects that lindsay from the Z shop has contributed to the zed car school, fortunately i met lindsay in 1983, he had zeds then and a ho falcon, detamaso panterra, SLR5000, and other numerouse vehicles, oh porsheres too . lindsays common attitude to life is in order to be succesfull you need to first make someone else succesfull and he did and does, theres also another common factor that goes with doing this and that is you end up giving a hell of a lot more than you get..... full stop there....    now there was only 2000 240z datsun sports cars delivered through the australian datsun dealers fom 1969 to late 1973 which makes this vehicle very rare so im sure at one stage most readers would have had some dealings with lindsay at the either z, spares or the zed shop, i know i have and he has always helped me with my zed even when he has been under a lot of pressure. lindsay knows how to build a top motor and you all know that, now that demand has become so strong for his services he personally cant meet the demand, and relys on the people that he educates to do so, and if there not prepared to learn then a breed of 240z specialised personall become a very rare service uncommon in the average automotive repair field, so think once think twice, lindsay where are you? i need some parts , when are you going to open the shop?
