One of the callipers has had its rubbers replaced, but theres a pbr rubber kit included for the second one. *RDA 300ZX vented rotors - $100pair, one of the rotors has a bit of surface rust *K&N Airfilters - $ Make an offer. The filters can be cleaned, its missing one of the front plates but otherwise complete. Located in Western suburbs. Contact PM or 0430 024 zero zero nine Sach
  11. Hello all, been a while since i have been on the forum or even touched my zed. But I only have like 19 days to enjoy my zed before rego expires and it is put into storage for a few years, untouched. Today i was checking over the car making sure everything worked. I found that cylinders 3 and 6 were not working. I cleaned the plugs and tested them and they worked find; they had alot of carbon build up. I also found that when I blocked the trumpets of those two cylinders, petrol came out; while blocking the others reduced engine speed and no petrol came out. Does this mean there is blockage in those two cylinders in the carb? Whats the best way to go about fixing it, other than tearing it apart and reconditioning it. Thanks Sach
  12. I'm hoping to be there too.
  13. Thanks everyone for the help, precision shims have exactly what I need.
  14. Thanks guys, looks like I'll have to call SWmotorsports. Will have to do with a 5mm pad as they only do increments of 0.25mm.
  15. Dimitri, I have no idea what the thickness of the standard one is. If you get a chance could you possibly have a look for me?
  16. Hey Ben, yeah mate took abit of a break from the zed and done some traveling. Thanks for the tip, I'll try get in contact with Peter and see how we go. I want to try and make the cruise down to Marysville, hope to see you there.
  17. Hi, Anyone have any lash pads lying around? Just need one, I have attached a picture to show you what happened to mine. The mechanic said it was due to valve bounce. The car has a mild cam in it and i know that effects the overall thickness of the pad. The thickness i need is 5.10mm from the bottom face to the cut away face. It might be even a stock lash pad, as I was told some people didnt bother changing the lash pads after fitting a new cam. I am in need of one urgently so if you have one please let me know. Thanks Sach http://www.flickr.com/photos/smeegama/5487714754/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/smeegama/5487130753/
  18. she came back to life this morning, ended up being the electrical connections. Now for a well deserved drive
  19. maddos i suspect it might be the immobilizer aswell. There is one cable i can't account for and i think it belongs to the immobilizer. Also i dont think i reconnected them correctly after i removed the starter. http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1a07d545b5ab98e7394d1ec13e264d0d6g.jpg
  20. okay so i connected up a jumper lead and connected it to one of the bolts on the strut tower. I then went to start it, i didnt turn the key all the way but it still happened. After everything shuts off i disconnect battery and reconnect it straight away but nothing turns on, none of the accessories, i have to give a few hours before any of the accessories start working again. Is this helpful in anyway? Thanks
  21. Looks like a good turnout, have to work all weekend plus the cars not running so yeah couldn't make it. Btw is that white 2 seater Loui's one?
  22. It happened a couple weeks ago... began with me thinking it was a flat battery, when that was rectified and car still didnt start i thought it was the solenoid on the started as the starter would crank but i could not hear the engine cranking. There also seems to be something wrong with my battery as it discharges quite quickly, its still under warranty so no worries there. now the part thats got me stumped... I put in another fully charged battery, and turn the key to acc. Everything works, radio, lights, i can see light blinking on my immobilizer, etc. As soon as i turn to start the engine i can hear the starter for a fraction of a second and then nothing everything just dies, no lights, radio no flashing immobilizer light. It's like there is no battery installed. What is happening to my beloved 240?, i just want to drive her so bad. Plus i haven't smelt of exhaust fumes in months
  23. Thanks rev i will, after all it is an open forum for oneto express their thoughts and ideas. I will also have to grab that book of you next time i see you. I know this project will be quite expensive and is a couple of years in the making, but i would like to make a start on it as i have resources that i may not have access to in a couple of years (CAD and CFD modeling software). After i have designed a manifold and find that it isn't a waste of time and there are some noticeable performance gains i will go ahead and start collecting parts to complete the engine and build the manifold. Until this point there is no financial cost, just time. Hmm intentions...? dunno yet
  24. I havnt graduated yet ill will be in December, should of said project meant to start next year. The idea is to be different, apply what i have learnt and make something. rb30x its not like i havnt driven turbo cars, i have, just never owned one so never really had to do any homework on it .
  25. Hi Does anyone have info on this turbo charger? I'm kinda new to turbo charging so bear with me. I would like to know: - The type of flange TC has - Would it be classified as a small, medium or large turbo charger Idea is to replace the TB03 with two smaller turbos for reduced lag, assuming that the TB03 is a medium sized turbocharger. I havent done the maths for this yet, but is something i would like to do and having llots of free time next year (recently graduated engineer + no job = free time ). **On a side note if anyone has a copy of 'Modifying Nissan & Datsun OHC engine' that they are no longer using, i would like to purchase it** Thanks
