Hi, question to all the tuners on the forum Can anyone tell me why engines are not dyno tested on part throttle? or are they? I believe it has something to do with pumping losses caused by the throttle, but don't know if that entirely is why there not test at part throttle. FYI im writing a lab report for a engine dyno experiment, which tested engine charac's (power, torque, cylinder pressure...) at 50% throttle and 100% throttle, and i need to explain why the power and torque curves look completely different to each throttle stage. I think i wont get to do end up skiing as my brother pulled out and i might be head up there by myself. Great input JP, spending 2 weeks in Tokyo and Shibuya is on the top of my list. The next 2 will be spent sightseeing. The Toyota and Nissan museums are also on my list.

I'm planning a trip in Jan 2010 to J land to do see the Tokyo autosalon, and do some skiing. But that is all that is planned for now. Was planning on hiking Mt Fuji but climbing season isn't till July. Staying 3-4 weeks depending on how far our money takes us. Anyway need some ideas for car related activities as well as some touristy stuff that we can do there. What have you guys done whilst over there. Oh and some good places to buy parts for the Z;) Cheers

Photoshop is great but it has too many features, with this one the one HUD has all the things you need to adjust a photo which makes it really easy. With the first photo the green is more dominant and doesnt make the car pop out, needs to be adjusted still learning what looks right and what doesn't. But thanks for the feedback guys. Hi guys I just bought a mac and have been playing around with aperture 2, its an awesome program. In fact i found it easier to use than photoshop. These are some photos i edited, the first two are mine the next two were taken by George on this forum. Giving credit were its due George i hope you dont mind me using your shots. They are very nice shots. I really want to buy a DSLR because im really getting into it, but it'll have to wait since i just bought a HD camcorder (we now have another camera to capture footage on the next VIC cruise) 2008 VICZCAR Christmas BBQ Churchill after the fires Last 2 are from the last drive the Sydney members had ***Also post your pics and maybe we can start a photography thread. i don't understand why i can't find off the shelf coilovers for the s30's, i mean its one of the greatest cars to come out of Japan and still nothing, they even have coilovers for a hyundai accent. Nothing wrong with accents but who would put adjustable coilovers in an accent unless it was for race purposes and i cant imagine the demand being too high. Anyway just having a rant. I may have been looking at the wrong companies, but it still shouldn't be this hard to find proper coilovers for our cars

Okay, so i dont need to shorten my housings, and if i do i will need a shorter shock, or a spacer. So is the whole point of shortening the struts done to improve the travel? coz if you shorten it you will need a shorter shock which means that, that has less travel bottoming out sooner (is that right?). ???Sorry just trying to get my head around it. The shock i understand, spent first half of 09 designing and building a shock absorber for a uni project. Anyway it wont be crazy low, i like the height its at now. But those semis are rubbing against the guard on some bumps so need to raise the back a bit, and lower the front to match the rear, right now its too high.

Are your ones already shortened, Dimitri i remember you selling your setup a while ago. Do you still have those? Im not sure if i have to shorten the strut housings for the HSD sleeve kit plus i dont understand how the strut is held in place if the strut housings were to be shortened. here the shocker is locked using the nut but it the housing is shortened wouldnt the body of the shock protrude from the housing?

Hey Guys, i after the strut housings (all 4) for my 240. Im not sure if 260 struts fit, especially the 2+2 ones because there are some being wrecked atm. I need to put in coilovers, the HSD coilover sleeve kit though otomoto. I would cut my own 240 ones but my plans for the car is to restore it to close to factory in a few years once i land a proper job. Hence i want to keep the stock suspension. If someone can tell me if the struts from the 260's or even 280zx that would be great then i can shoot of some pm's to those wrecking these models Cheers Sachil Keep an eye out, ill be starting a build thread, but i really havent change much since buying the car, will have lots of pics
