  1. Free Trade agreements relate to the import duty/tariffs as opposed to GST etc. Also depends on the nature of the goods as specific types of goods are excluded under free trade agreements (Remember Abbot claiming a victory over stuff to do with cars/parts with the free trade agreement being negotiated by Japan). Would suggest a lot would be to do with how they price the goods - if the supplier will break down parts and labour and then list the parts value only on the shipping docket then you would achieve that outcome, but the majority of reman/resto parts have a list price rather than being priced this way.
  2. I've had this though not on a z. The filler actually burred so it was stuffed. I heated it up with a blowtorch then hit it with a hammer and screwdriver to turn it
  3. Being a hairy bastard with an aversion to "manscaping" I can see the appeal of those simpler days
  4. Looks like factory colour code 113 (same as mine)
  5. Shall do once the car is at home and I've got them off.
  6. I'll have a Genie/Pacemaker set of extractors available in a couple of weeks. Off a 240Z but from memory the stud patterns are the same across the L series engines so all the manifolds are interchangable (please correct me if I'm wrong experts!! ). In terms of new ones if I'm right about the interchangability when you google for them a few options come up.
  7. Thanks Gav - the existing ones are definitely not factory then !! And yes my engine bay will look a little sad I think ....... especially in current stock form until I get either triple carbs or injection with ITBs and get the engine work done. Here's hoping next years bonus is a cracker so that I can start getting into all those fun parts (and get back to living in a house of our own of course)
  8. Was close enough to $1900 Roughly $1350 for the parts ($625 each for the exhaust and the headers) $650 odd for shipping and commission (Jesse Streeter) Considering the quality and what it can cost to get an exhaust bent up anyway I was happy to pay that. I could have got the exhaust without the headers to save some money but that could have meant a lot of stuffing around to fit my existing headers (get flanges machined, welding etc) so I went the whole hog. They will be on the car for a very very long time and I know I'll smile every time I look at them! Will list my existing headers (which are reasonable anyway) for sale once they're off. I think they might be Genie/Pacemaker or similar extractors - haven't seen a brand stamped anywhere. Might be factory if they came with extractors from the factory (again showing my ignorance of the smaller details). Not sure if any of the existing exhaust will be saleable.
  9. Or maybe you could be courteous and follow the forum guidelines for classified ads, including providing full details
  10. And the headers have arrived too. Should make it easier to fit the exhaust with the twins all lining up.
  11. Bugger!! Hope all cleans up ok.
  12. Oh dear......... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=261566120778&globalID=EBAY-AU&alt=web
  13. Yep - keeping a rein on the spend. We've also now sold a car and have decided to cut our losses and sell our house we built in Melbourne when we were living down there. Will give us a clean slate and should accelerate the process a bit !!
  14. Sort of on topic - if you use Jesse Streeter for sourcing parts in Japan he uses DHL Express so it is an all inclusive cost he gives you.
  15. Heard good things about the electric power steering from these guys here and on Hybridz: http://zpowersteering.com/store/ There is someone who does electric conversions in Sydney that can be hidden behind the dash/in the steering column rather than having to screw anything into the firewall but I can't remember the name and from memory it's close to 2 grand just for the parts anyway. Trying to remember who mentioned it to me and the bloody name of the guy that does them now!! I know of at least one person who has put electric power steering in a reasonably serious track car and swears by it
  16. Ha ha sounds like a plan!
  17. Loving how you car is turning out! That airdam definitely looks the goods
  18. As promised........ For some reason the couriers are delivering headers Monday but I'm still smiling. Think I'll spoon these in the garage tonight intead of with the wife
  19. Have seen a lot of positive comments on various forums about the work that this guys does: http://sydneyguardrolling.com.au/
  20. Apparently the Tokicos Illuminas I ordered are on extended backorder so I am cancelling that order and seeing if anyone has anything they would be willing to sell?? I need both front and rear. Will also consider shocks with non-adjustable damping rates as long as they are up to the task. Will be running King Spring lows so would prefer something that can handle running lowered. Thanks
  21. So apparently Tokico Illuminas are on "extended backorder". Nice of the folks I bought them off in early July to tell me NOW, and then it was after chasing them up a couple of times to find out what is going on. It's the pivotal part in terms of getting the rego work done, as there is no point doing all the bushes, steering etc until the shocks are here I figure! The supplier has offered me a refund which I think I'll take. I think I'll bite the bullet and spend the extra dollars to get the Koni yellows. Anyone have any suggestions on a reliable supplier for these? Also do I have to order the spacers for the rear separately? Actually are the spacers even needed when using lowering springs - I think I saw somewhere that they are needed unless you shorten the strut (not planning to at this stage) On the plus side the Fujitsubo full exhaust and headers is being delivered today and I intend to post gratuitous exhaust porn once I can take photos of them. Gotta say Jesse Streeter provides an awesome service since it was only the 25th of July I asked him to get me prices on the kit.
  22. It's baaacccckkkkkkk............ http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=251614424289&globalID=EBAY-AU&alt=web
  23. I think there was a thread on here that All Z Parts was shutting down.
  24. In general terms for best results you want someone who advertises as a carb specialist and has a dyno - from past experience on other cars a dyno tune yields the best results
