    Is the front half or the rear half of the gearbox housing the difference? If its the front half with the bell housing, could you perhaps swap the front housing to suit the engine?

    Thats going to have a nice fresh look John. I'm sure there'll be plenty of interest in a mould when you're done.

    Give it to Galderdi to do some butt welds on it and you should get the look you're after. Just don't take any action shots........

    The american 280zx turbo's didn't have the same gearbox as the non turbo. They had a borg warner 5 speed. This link may help. http://www.xenons130.com/Transmissions.html

    Another thing that I've found common in the 3 that I own (done before I got them) was the front wheel bearings needed adjusting. The cars were 'tram railing' a bit and were twitchy on the road. This was fixed with the correct wheel bearing adjustment. This may have only been a coincedence on all 3 that I own but definately worth checking........ on any car.

    Do you mean, do the RB30 engine mounts bolt into a 240/260/280 or do you mean does it bolt up to the gearbox used on L series engines?

    G'day all, I'll be heading from Newcastle down to Melbourne next month to pick up an engine. I'm going to take a trailer with me so there will be a little room on the way back up and at the moment I'll have an empty trailer on the way down so if anyone would like some parts transported that will fit in a normal 6x4 then let me know.

    What year model do you have? I have both at home so I'll send one down with the other gear for you.

    I do have a series 2 LH rear caliper but I was planning on selling it as a complete kit to for someone to convert to disc rear end.

    I also have a couple of sets of rims that are up for grabs as well. Cheviot hurricane rims for that old school look for your zed. 14 x 7 standard offset. $200 neg Standard rims from a 280zx. $200 for a set of 5.

    You shouldn't need to swap the sump. Even if you wanted to swap it you could just put the sump from your L24 onto it.
