I really wanted to get down the to meet some of you guys but since I got rear ended I have a lot of work ahead of me to get all the stuff swapped over to the new chassis after I clean up any rust that I find. I only have a couple of weeks to get as much done as I can before I head back up to work.

Well, its definately an 'interesting' wide body kit. Thats the nicest way I can think of saying it.

Once I build both cars up that I'm building and once all the spares are sorted, I'll post up anything that I don't want to keep for myself in the forsale section.

Got the replacement shell for my car today.......well one of them anyway. The other shell arrivese next week some time. It doesn't look like much but it is in great shape. A coat of paint won't be hard to put on. The new car The mountain of spares. Well the first load anyway. Still more to come. Another view White face dials anyone? Gotta clear out the rats nest in the engine bay though. haha

Well I just scored two complete cars plus heaps of parts stripped from two other chassis'. So I'm pretty set for a while anyway. If you need any 280 parts let me know.

Hey Loui, Yeah it is the small hose that goes to the throttle body. I split enough that I had to stop another 4 times on my way home to Clarence town. I'm glad it was only something small. Time to check all my hoses now I guess. I'll put all new hoses on when I do the chassis swap.

Thanks Lurch. Pictures speak a thousand words and a thousand languages. The explanations have been fairly criptic so far. We know you have to do a bit of cutting and a bit of welding and a couple of 2" exhaust clamps but thats about it. For those of us that haven't done this kind of thing before it helps to have a pic to say that what we've done looks like the pic.........or doesn't.

I've already found a replacement. I pick THEM up next week along with the guys whole 280zx spare parts collection.

Well I'm dissapointed about the accident but no-one was hurt so thats a good thing. I only just bought the car and I haven't transfered the insurance or rego but it is still insured under the previous owners name and I just got a call from the other party and she gave me the claim number and I'm booked in to get the car assessed on Monday. I'm pretty sure it'll be a write off though. Which means I'll be able to keep it for a parts doner car.

While I was cruising around Newcastle yesterday I had a girl in a little Kia help me to modify the rear end of the 280zx by slamming into the back of it. Nothing like a kick in the butt to get you started on a new project.

Well I bought an '82 280zx a couple of weeks ago and this is how it looked when I bought it. Its not the most spectacular example but it was a fairly clean car.

I want to buy a 280zx. I'd prefer it to be a going car but it will be a project so thats negotiable.

This might sound strange but go to a vacuum cleaner shop and have a look at the different nozzles they have for industrial vacs. These are designed to maximise air flow remember.... They will also have hoses that can withstand a bit of a beating. I've seen it done on a couple of cars and they look really good. They just will have a few different sizes for tubing as well. One guy I saw had a couple of different sized nozzles and hoses that he could change depending on the air temp on the track. They had a bracket that was built to hold the piping in place that attached to the caliper mount.

Any chance of a couple of pics Lurch? And short of measuring my struts, which is a bit hard with me being 2000ks away from it at the moment. Will either if these kits fit my '82 model 280zx?

Hi all, I've been a proud zed owner now for the past 3weeks. lol. Trying to soak up as much info as I can to give me a clear path that I want to take with my resto. I'm stuck up in QLD at the moment with work so I don't have a pic of my 82 280zx just yet but I'll get some up as soon as I can. Well I guess I'll be checking out the sight and hopefully I'll be able to add a few insights from my own experience in the future. Here are a couple of pics of a past project of mine.
