Do you know the reason for the yellow hand painted rectangle around the chassis number? I have a 77 2+2 Japanese import that has the same thing.

For a little more cash/time you could throw some rings, bearings and a timing chain kit at it too. The Datsun blocks are pretty tough, providing the bores are still good and don't need to be rehoned it's all doable with two guys in a weekend if your handy.

Wolfcreek beware! There's some dodgey goings on with their CV's. get some heavy duty uni's from hardy spicer The Splines on the CV's are hit with a punch to deform them and make things feel tighter than what they are.

I was driving the other day and went to turn right, put indicator on and it was VERY slow. I mean reeeeeealy slow, on for 3 seconds off for three seconds. I have electronic flasher so they usually operate at close to new car speeds, there's been no sign of it gradually going, it was fine and then completely r@@ted. Left side works fine.

So what would 15mm be in degrees? How did you set it up to ensure you got 15mm? Can you measure the distance between the front and rear hubs on each side and then extend both by 10-15mm making sure they are both the same?

I ended up getting RE11S, I would've liked the Yokohama AO50's but I couldn't justify the extra expense. I figured better the devil you know

Yeah DOT approved is no good, they have to be street legal as I drive to track days. I think my current compound is medium/hard, so mediums or softs might give me a poorer wear rate. Those hankooks look like a full slick hehehe. I bet I would be happy with those! Traction tyres has AO48's for $299ea but they at least 12months old already. Their AO50's are $420ea. Bridgestone RE11S are $350ea. $70 a tyre difference adds up quickly, I have bridgestone ATM and have been really happy with them so I'm leaning in that direction.

I'm after a bit of a trade off., unfortunately money is an object I do want good grip but I don't want the tyres to be worn out after 5 race days. I've heard that yokies get chewed up really quick. Previously had R888's that were great in the wet but slow in the dry, switched to RE55S and got great grip with plenty of durability. Jason, do you know what the yokies are like in terms of durability? Also the RE11S? Do you have them Simon?

Hey guys, is anyone running these on their zed? Just wondering how they compare and what your thoughts are. Looking at these or Yoki AO50 semis, I'm sure the Yokies will be stickier but I don't think they'll last long. Any feedback appreciated

That's before GST! The other thing is this new 'padding' is super hard and my helmet goes close to the cage. I can see it getting scratched and marked very quickly, then I'll be told I need a new helmet

Just got more new padding, the new sfi45.1 stuff is rock hard! The only other difference is its fire rated and a rip off! I'd rather have the old padding, it's very hard compress with your hands but at least there's some give in it. Fire rated padding is just over the top, how many other parts of a 40yr old Datsun are fire rated? Not many. This new garbage doesn't even go all the way around the bar, so who's to say in a roll over it won't move enough that side of the bar closest to you/your head becomes exposed? What a load of crap this is!!! CAMS.... Making entry level motorsport more inaccessible to everyday people!

If I had the choice I would go for a shmick hako GTR replica but with just a plain L series engine. Then I'd get an OS Giken injected twin can to slam in it To me Hako's are the ultimate Jap nostalgic car.
