  1. Yeah Benny Spent some time behind a HSV some time ago with the same seats, very supportive and comfortable. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh yes, wide back rests, but the bases are pretty standard, what makes them look even more bulked up is the fact that the adjustable head rests are so huge and wrap down into the lower cushions, I'm sure you will appreciate their comfort from the passanger seat when I take you for a drive one day Simon, be the best Taxi drive you have ever had. Not that concerned as even at 6 feet tall I always found I never set the seat all the way back and still had a fair bit of room behind my driving position, so hitting the rear wheel well wont be a concern, as far as the quarter glass frame / pillar I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of clearance. Cheers John
  2. Hey Matt Dont I owe you a favour ? I work out that way so can help. Cheers John
  3. Also Bit the bullet again and purchased some seats off EBAY this evening Picked up the HSV Coulsons for $675 which is about 1/2 the going rate. The cloth ones on the left are the EBAY items, the ones on the right are leather trimmed which will be the plan in the futrure. Cheers John
  4. Hey David Still not finished, hopefully this week sometime, and some pics in the nest few days.
  5. Sorry to burst your bubble But Pillar angles do not change on a sedan chop unless that's the desired effect. If that was the case then all door window frames would also have to be re-angled, and associated glass modified to suit, however in saying that, although the window frames and pillar angles remain constant, due to the lowering of the top window or door frame, a fillet section needs to be added due the the additional length. John
  6. This is impressive from 2 points of view, In a traditional sedan type chop top, the cuts are made through the pillars, problem is that by doing this the roof also needs to be dissected in two and a fillet added through the guts due to the fact that as the roof line is lowered to a lower position the pillars become wider necessitating a wider length wise roof. Unless I am mistaken and I looked at the pic for some time, what has been done here is the turret has been released along the spine, gutters and all, from the apex of the quarter glass along the top of the entire quarter panel to the lead edge of the hip line at the rear of the quarter. I would estimate they lowered the roof line at the quarter glass apex by about 25mm - 30mm, the expodential effect at the A pillar would have been twice that. The second note of merit here, the A pillar in now totally changed in angle, with chops the pillar angles are retained, the associated glass is trimmed to suit, but not here. All in all, a very unique and well executed mod. John

  21. Hey Peter Good to hear, Ive envied you on many an occasion, cant wait to be able to do the same. I was just telling Kato on the phone, around this time next year the old girl and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary together, but I havent driven her in 18 years, its been a long time between drinks and I seriously doubt anyone here has owned a Zed as long as me or not driven their car as long either. Cheers John
  22. Thanks Jamo Did the check this morning when I was prepping the engine and box for transport to ARC and it's actually 620mm so 5mm either end, guess we will see what need doing but I'm still moving ahead with this rack if at all possible. Trip across town went well, but it took me almost 3 hours to load the F*ckers onto the ute tray, secure it all and get across from the west to Mordialloc, nevertheless we all made it in one piece. A couple of pics from today's run across town to ARC, John was kind enough to show me some examples of what I can expect in the adaption along with the twin plate race/street clutch and flywheel they will be making up hopefully starting next Wednesday. New bling, shame it will be hidden under the bell housing. Cheers John
  23. All good Simon Been there, done do that, know where youre coming from :-)
  24. Cheers David And you know I will reciprocate and when the time comes help with whatever you need done. Cheers John P.S. do you think the additional 15mm either end on the LCA pivots will have a dramatic or negative effect?
  25. David You are a legend, but seriously i cant take you away from your family 2 days before your departure, do feel obliged, I know what its like to travel and have commitments, not a good thing. If you want to come down for a few hours it will be a pleasure to have you there. Apart from what I have, I was going to buy a gas mig / tig, cut off drop saw and a bench drill for some accuracy, apart from those theres nothing else needed to be honest. I couldn't drop off the motor today as the engine mount was in customs for 3 days, didn't arrive yesterday as expected, so drop off is tomorrow mid day now, will take some pics and post tomorrow. The question you posed about the LCA pivot measurements, I will measure them tomorrow, but from some notes I took looks like they are at 640mm, how much of an effect that will have I'm not sure, being 15mm each end. Cheers John
