No such thing as light weight any more with all the safety boxes that need to be ticked. The bigger engines are required to get the fatter cars to move.

And they do with a cam the equivelent of this one, at that would be at the wheels power not flywheel. Awesome effort regardless and full credit to the builder. Gunna be a blast to drive.

It would be impossible for any other car to take the place my 570Z. Any other zed would feel inadaquate to me after driving this thing. I could spend another ten grand on my clubsport and it wouldnt be in the same ball park as this thing. But times change and so do priorities. It's looking like selling this is definetly on the cards. After taking it down the strip of course.

Aftermarket gauges will do that for some reason until they see a proper signal.. Thats why you always see gauges at weird positions in car mags.

Not sure mate, hard to compare it to others that have sold recently. I dont even know how the QLD engineering/mod plate would go transfering interstate??

Just throwing this out there...... If you are considering buying an S30 or plan to do an engine conversion on your own S30, than perhaps this car may be of interest to you. I'm probably just writing this in a moment of deep deppression but I have realised I hardly ever drive the thing because of where I live and I cannot take my family with me. If I had a five seater toy/project car I would go on a lot more cruises and be able to enjoy the car more. I still want to pilot this thing down the quarter mile, but once I have done that I feel like the affair will be over, or I will want to spend more on it to make it faster. I love everything about this car and if I had a shed or larger property I would tuck it away for a rainy day but I cant. :'( I wouldnt even know where to begin with an asking price at this stage, as I am purely throwing the concept out there in case there is a 'lurker' who would like to do something similar and can understand the money that would be saved if they bought one already completed.

Had a spare second today so I thought I'd throw in my stereo and speaker boxes which have been waiting for over six months. It'll be nice to finally have some tunes when I drive it now.

If I learnt anything from my DIY paint job, its to put HEAPS of paint on so you've got some thickness there for when you wet sand to remove any orange peel etc. Any dont be dissapointed when the final coat dries and it doesnt look summernats quality, because a few hours wet sanding then using several grades of polish will have it looking a million dollars. Nice colour.

I watched this tonight cause someone else mentioned it at work. The hits have gone through the roof in the last 12hrs. Looks like its working.

Mining is fairly low in energy consumtion so it will always be around, but look at what we are mining and where we are sending our products. Its going overseas to be used in high carbon producing industries. Now if the govenment actually cared, they would stop exporting these minerals to countries that arent making an effort like we are. If this occured they wouldnt be able to tax the sales and they wouldnt have as much money in their deep pockets.

So to all of you who believe in global warming, does it make you all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that slowly but surely the big Mining and Manufacturering Industries are taking their work offshore which will cripple our economy. They can do the same thing overseas for half the price due to this global warming tax that has been placed on these companies based on a theory, and the money the government is stealing from them isn't actually going towards helping the issue? Do you feel good knowing that even if Australia suceeds in reducing its carbon production by forcing all the big companies elsewhere, that it will be a piss in the ocean compared to the amount of carbon produced by countries such as China or India. So we all suffer due to a lack of jobs and poor economy. Our kids grow up hearing what a prosperous country Australia "used to be" while India and China continue doing what they do, and the world runs out of food and we all die before anything we've done to contribute to 'saving the planet" even has time to take effect.

Early Dattos have the Jatco 3N71B and later dattos (aka Nissans and some Holdens) used the 4N71B. Both share the same bolt patterns. The VL turbo 4 speed had a lot stronger input shafts and other bits if you're looking to put a bit of power through one. Anything newer than that ie the tipronic R43 auto would be mostly (if not completely) electronic which means it would need its own computer and a lot of setting up to be made into a conversion.

Your certainly getting into it. Please remember to be careful with all the heavy things supported by engine cranes and cars stands. Once supported by the chain or car stand, give the engine or car a good shake to make sure nothing is going to move. The last thing you need is a stand moving while your flogging a spanner with a hammer under the car.

I'd like to say its too much power but that door has always looked like that. The drivers door is worse.
