  1. The splash sheild is attached to the body via three 10mm bolts. Or it will be welded on if the car has been to a panel shop.
  2. $9000 240Z in Fitzroy! http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/datsun-240z-1973-12806418?base=&vertical=Car&cr=17&page=2&eapi=2&__N=1246+1247+1252+1282+4294966615+903+1216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=default
  3. Sufferin Succotash I think he's had a stroke mid post.

  5. The paint is cheap spray pack satin black which i used because it will be easy to strip when Vivek gets into it for the next stage! Thanks for the kind words of encouragement guys. Can't seem to stop taking pics of this creation now. Here's a few with my modified bonnet on it.
  6. Hmmm, pointy!
  7. Here's a better pic.
  8. 4 more pics. I'm liking the ratrod look, vivek and i decided on the all black color scheme just to make her uniform.
  9. Pull yours apart, clean them and install new springs from a ball point pen.
  10. Very Schmick!
  11. 2500 I actually did view your vehicle while it was at big d's place. Very Fixable.
  12. Is that one in the box o parts?
  13. Thanks Muchly, it's looking very neat with a ratrod look to it. They feel better to sit in when they get all the rusty bits parting company. I'll have to check out your project thread and see where your at.
  14. Getting close now. The Drivers side gaurd had a small previous repair which i deemed acceptable. Small holes at 2 o'clock on the lip from prior bodywork were mostly cut out for the flare, the rest were welded.
  15. I took a different approach to extending the chassis rails in my 2+2 project where i cut the bottom out of the old chassis rail where 95% of the rust was. I then took some box tube which i profiled to the floorpan and extended it to the rear.
  16. OMG! Sack the guy and go buy yourself; 1 piece of vinyl the same size of your roof (in your color) A similar sized sheet of 6mm foam 1 can of contact adhesive. Then report back.
  17. Big D, i do not think he is doing a conversion. I think he has a RHD. May i be struck by a large bag of REAL $100 notes if i am wrong.
  18. Those rails support the floorpan. You can run them down to the back if you want to. You can buy replacment rails with floorpans or, or take a sample to a steel fabrication/ sheetmetal business and have some fabricated. It is less expensive to have some fabricated. I just made a list
  19. Here i go again thread stealing. I have templates for these to suit the 240Z.
  20. The first time you take out the headlights will be the worst because you quite often strip the phillips head bolts or snap them off. I've even had to weld in new nuts. Try undoing the two bolts that hold on the headlight support panel and then bend it back slightly to access the trim screws.
  21. More Pics! Something that really saved this car was the red primer that someone applied to areas where the Zeds are known to rust. This would have happened during the first batch of rust repairs many years ago. Although they failed to treat the repairs properly the primer applied did save the car from an almost certain death.
  22. Close, but no cigar! http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,11461.0.html
  23. It's a 3M product water based stone gaurd. Easy to use and clean up, dries rock hard.
