  1. 365 divided by rego = you really should just get full rego and enjoy your Zed or go buy an early Toyota . . . . . now those guys are cheap!
  2. Why not mount multiple radiators?
  3. Slant 6 Valigrunt?
  4. How about doing another utube video this weekend? If you're running electronic ignition i'm going to say you're timing is out. From my experience a lean carb will backfire through the carby and a rich one through the exhaust!
  5. I will say the chances of finding a 2+2 in that condition again would be Zip! Roll that into any Japanese car show and take home a trophy if you're into that. Nissan HQ should buy it and display!
  6. The fuel level sounds ok! Try hooking up all the chokes with one wire (or hook two up using the stock choke cable) and get someone to assist you on start up. you may have to reach under each carb and manually prime each pump jet by operating the lever a few times until you can hear fuel squirting in each carby. I have to pump my gas pedal about 10 times to get my Zed to start without chokes and then massage from there for a minute or two!
  7. I purchased one from the states for $20... New!
  8. Check out the DATSUN cam cover
  9. You can see how far this family will go to help out another club member. That alone has to be worth 20K !!
  10. I listed a set of 14 X 6 rims on ebay for scrap price (bluebird rims) this month and no takers. They went to scrap and i got $10ish a rim.
  11. Just wondering where your tailshaft is? Not serviceable?
  12. Part of the problem with your car is you Sam, on more than one occasion you've had work done and failed to seek peoples advice. It's no good saying is this the right price after the fact but all this bears little to no relavance. What i hear you say? How much have you learned during the process? Will these skills transfer to other areas of your life? No good wasting your life with ifs of buts, i have a friend in Ballarat who has spent about 100K on cars and all he has is a 71 Jag and a 90's model white work van. As far as i'm concerned you have gotten off lightly for a young fellow with limited knowledge, most get spanked severely! As for the 2+2 being inferior i have one and once it's finished i bet you will hear me singing it's praises for years to come. When you first entered this club you had an attitude which some didn't appreciate and many suspected that you wouldn't last long, wouldn't go the distance. But there you are, still here. These cars can bend you over the table time and again, i swear some have a device that scans your wallet every third time you get in it and destroys a part to the value of $10 more than you have in there. One thing i can be certain of, if you were to go on a club cruise you wouldn't care if your car was a 2+2 or steals all your cash!
  13. Here we go!
  14. The right quarter was a lot easier to work with once the flare was cut out and welded, it added a lot of stability to that area. It only has the basic shape but Vivek has a friend who will be doing all the bodywork on the car. If there's enough hours left i could change over the gasket (maybe Peter Mac will be good enough to send me another one) because i think it would be a top little motor and i'm not fond of the idea of swapping it out for the L26!
  15. PM sent!. Noo actually i didn't. Just wanted you to remember that moment!
  16. I would turn all the screws out to three on start. 1.5 is a minium 5.5 is a maximum and if you can't get it to idle in this range you will have to rejet idles. You may have problems bending float tabs without a return but give it a shot! Are you using soft mounts? I would. The wheels have a tab for idle adjustment. I had to cut the pivot joint bolt down too.
  17. The hard work is done, bottom of the front gaurds, patch on the hatch, a little on the roof and quarters, new battery tray, some on the bonnet nose and not much more than that. Front flares need cutting, refit fuel tank, remove air con, refit all the lights, driver's side seat and um yea should be good to go. Mid to late August. Need a flare fitting kit, electronic dizzy, give the engine a quick tune and the brake booster is leaking. Paint floor in POR15 and a quick coat of satin black, he'll drive it home! He has strut braces and a rear bobtail.
  18. Now both rear flares are done!
  19. Why not go get the rear hubs and flanges off Vivek too!
  20. Holy Thread revival Batman! Spotted in an Episode of Cops today!
  21. That's the worst of the rust done!
  22. I did a little photoshop work on this pic to get an idea of height. All my other work is not airbrushed!
  23. I used VHT on my extractors and it peeled.. Then i tried septone and it's still there after 2 years.
