The end where the drain hole is located is a little more difficult to fabricate but having said that it is hidden from view. Doesn't have to be exact.

Just been to Bisitechniks and dealt with Ben, top guy and seemed to be a fan of Zed. Fitted a 302 Cleveland. Modified Bonnet 302 Cleveland and C4 Auto Toyota S12+8 front caliper and R31 rears with 280ZX Master Cylinder Extended Chassis Extractors and 2.5 inch system Lowered King springs Custom Engine Mounts and modified crossmember Custom Sump The link to the build is on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/PNK260 and here on Auszcar http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,11096.0.html I just needed to improve clearance on exhaust, balance tailshaft, adjust brakes and a few other small detail. The circled item look like a proportioning valve which lowers the pressure to the rears and stops them locking first. Common with disc brake conversion setups. I need to fit one on my V8 Zed.

Yep Ballarat Mud is almost famous Mick. Just spoke to the engineer and there is very little to do. Drivers side extactors need more room near the steering rod Passenger side extractors too low need to come up 25mm Worn bush on the moustache bar Tailshaft balance Rear brakes locking up first need porportioning valve Then it goes for the brake test and we're done.

Well the V8 Zed has gone in for engineering and a brake test this morning, ironic that i had no wiper motor and it's raining in Ballarat today but he said that i can bring the vehicle back if the weather doesn't improve. The inspection phase takes two and a half hours and the brake test checks to make sure the fronts lock first and then a fade test, 20 stops from 60 to zero followed by two stops from 100 to zero. The G's have to measure .54 on the 20 stops and .8 G's on the last two. Should be interesting.

I like the VS V8 Birdcage alternator myself. 120 Amps and wires up with a $12 clip. I changed out the front cover on the alternator of a stock 80 amp unit and it's now bolted to my Ford V8 in the 2+2. Holden alternator on a Ford motor to a Datsun wiring loom. About $300 for the 120 Amp version on ebay.

Bear in mind if you are skilled at rust repairs, don't mind a challenge and have the time you can buy a basket case and repair. I have never gone over 250 Hours on a body resto but for someone professional to do it for you at $75 to $95 an hour you can be way out of budget. Unless stored in the right enviroment any unrestored Zed can have rust just doing it's thing on the unprotected side of a panel.

Just on the topic of members attending. Is there going to be an appearance of the Auszcar banner? Can we wear a certain color armband or something so we can identify each other at a glance?
