  1. Check the attached link for some great shots of the '74 Monte, especially the support crew wagons!. How things have changed!! http://team-go-on.forumotion.com/la-comptetition-d-hier-d-aujourd-hui-f25/monte-carlo-1974-repportage-au-coeur-de-l-assistance-datsun-t1199.htm#13538
  2. Thanks George, Maybe next time. At least I gave the battery a bit of a charge and checked out the bikes.
  3. Where did you guys go!! I was waiting at Stanwell Tops and saw you drive past. I had a bit of a look down towards the scenic drive and couldn't find you so I headed home! Maybe it was just a young mans event, but hey, I'm comfortable with that
  4. I was going to go for a ride, but could be tempted. If I am not at Sylvania will meet at Stanwell Tops.
  5. Leaving where from?
  6. RB30x, FWIW, about 3 years ago I had my manifold and triple webers glass bead blasted and I then coated them with Glisten PC which is one of the PPC products (the makers of POR15). I am more than happy with the result, there is no yellowing and any petrol stains can be easily removed with a spray of carb cleaner. I am going to use the same stuff on the polished alloy wheels of a classic motorcycle I am restoring. See link http://ppcco.com.au/topcoat_glistenpc.htm
  7. Dave, I am sure you will find that entries will only be accepted on the basis of demonstrated experience to run in the multi car event as set out in the last page of the entry package. I doubt they would accept a driver in a 'team' who hasn't sufficiently convinced them of his/her experience regardless of how experienced the other team members were. Usually to gain acceptance drivers have entered one of the other FOSC events during the year, however with Oran park gone there probably won't be a January meeting as before. As far as the car goes you don't need a roll cage or log book, quite a few of the cars are registered road cars. If you look at the Regularity gallery in the attached link you will see the range of cars that compete in regularity. http://fosc.speedshots.com.au/gallery/fosc_120409/ Cheers
  8. Here are the supp regs and the posters http://www.fosc.com.au/Documents/Bathurst%2010/BATH_AD%202.pdf http://www.fosc.com.au/Documents/Bathurst%2010/MT%20PANORAMA%20V1%20PDF.pdf 11933_83d854e2192b1e3e692f7116c8a5f22021b6966d.doc
  9. Lurch, Thanks for letting us know. On behalf of the NSW group who went to Thredbo in February and had the opportunity to chat with Warren over the course of the weekend, can I offer our sincere condolensces to his wife Kay and family on their sad loss. Regards, Geoff
  10. George, I just sent you a PM. Geoff
  11. Check with Stewart Wilkins at SW Motorsport 45772400 at Mulgrave near Windsor he has had them in the past.
  12. Adam, I have been making some enquiries re the same thing and whilst I can't make any recommendations I can let you know what I have found to date. One place who used to do the dash restorations in Sydney was Dept of the Interior at Carlton. I went there yesterday and they informed me that they have sold that part of the business to a company around the corner. This company is Classic Dash at 169 Bellevue Parade, Carlton (their website says 1/247 West St, Carlton) Ph. 9547 3424 or www.classicdash.com.au. If you look on their site you will see they quote from $875 for a 240/260 dash!! I was told about a 3 week turnaround and they require all the guages and air vents to ensure correct fitment. Another company that has done dash restorations for some time and has been mentioned before on this site is Dashboard Restorations in Acacia Ridge, Qld. http://www.dashboardrestorations.com.au/index.htm I think some forum members have had dealings with this company who seem to have had a good name in the past even doing dashes for Z owners in the US. I spoke to a chap there and he quoted around $700, but you have the added cost of freight to and from Qld which could potentially be around the $150 or more mark. They also indicated 2-3 week turnaround. From posts I have read over the years this company appears to do good work but I don't know how they rate compared to Classic Dash at Carlton or other companies. Anyhow, until someone comes up with some alternatives, these are two for you to consider in the meantime. Geoff
  13. George, You may want to check with the National Park people and see what the road is like as I was through there a few weeks ago and they were doing a lot of road works ie extensive dirt sections along the top before you get to the Bundeena turn off. As you probably know you could always go into the park from Waterfall and it is a bit smoother from there to Stanwell. Geoff
  14. Pardon my ignorance but I thought this was a State government idea, not Federal and as such would have nothing to do with K Rudd. If you have a gripe with him about something else, fair enough, but unless I am mistaken (as I often am), he has nothing to do with this proposal.
  15. Not sure of the exact price but I believe it is a fair bit more than $35K!
  16. James was out at Oran Park today at the FOSC meeting with the car which is actually for sale as we speak!!
  17. The green 240 in the Shannons ad comes from Vic and belongs to a guy who is well known to a number of the Vic members. From memory it is a 2.9 with webers and full cage and goes quite well. It has done a few tours of Tassie.
  18. Hey Alan, Maybe you should consult with Carl Beck to see if he might have any ideas on the missing car in Morocco???
  19. Matt, Will keep an eye out for you at the track, a few (3) of us are having a run in the Regularity. Hopefully the rain will have cleared by then. I am not having a run on Friday but may come out to get scrutineered and have a look. Are you running in Group Sc? Cheers, Geoff
  20. Mike, I think you will find it might be Greenfield Park, out the other side of Fairfield.
  21. Hey PZG302 Are you doing the FOSC meeting at Oran Park on the 25th and 26th?
  22. Will probably be tempted to go again would be good if it was dry!! although I want to have a run at Phillip Island some time, if not at the historic meeting then maybe the Victorian 6 hour relay in 2010. One of our group is trying to put a Z team together to come down and have a run.
  23. If you are looking for LSD options you may want to consider the one in the attached link from Melbourne which fits into a particular model R180 diff. By all accounts they are quite strong and in a R180 would be a fair bit lighter than an R200 LSD. http://members.optushome.com.au/amaxeng/five10/diff.htm
  24. And what is wrong with beards!!! Young people who aren't old enough to grow facial hair don't have a monopoly on Z's!!! If you did a survey I am sure you would find quite a few 'mature' age Z owners.
  25. Not sure if this one has been on already.
