Cars For Sale (3rd Party Sites) Ebay, Carsales etc..
road rider replied to gav240z's topic in Cars For Sale
I wonder what it handles like with that Windsor motor. Looks like a cast iron intake manifold, so the engine wouldn't be light to say the least. Suspension must have been done and you would think the brakes would have been looked at as well. It seems it has all the permits, so it must be street legal. And it is a really neat looking 260Z......a sleeper in fact with that V8 under the hood. I have to admit, going on looks alone it is tempting. -

Not to sure what it's worth in todays market Cozza. I just want to gauge what interest there is by putting it to auction. I really haven't got any expectations. Gav actually talked me out of cutting it up! -

I'm hoping who ever buys it will have the time and patience to restore it. It's an early car and would be a shame to cut her up(I nearly did!) -

Hey all, just some self promotion here. Got one of my early girl 240Z's, up for sale on fleabay. HS30 00351 It's accident damaged and is basically a shell. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/-/122380004541? Cheers, Sean -
Just got back from Essendon Kia and they managed to find the part numbers listed above. According to the parts guy, there is no stock in the country(not a popular item) and so would have to be ordered from Korea. Price for weatherstrip is $172 retail. Not that cheap really!
-
Rang Kia today for the Sportage weatherstrip and those part numbers supplied above don't work for some reason. Even tried Kia's online parts locator with no luck. https://www.kiapartsdepartment.com/parts/index.cfm?make=Kia&year=&searchText=ok018+59760b&action=oePartSearch&siteid=216393 Can anyone provide any more info please.

For that kind of money he could have painted the engine bay and boot blue as well. Or better yet he should have left the car silver! And no A/C........at least it has power steering. -

Chris, it was red With a white interior -
Those Kia weather strips have got a good rap judging by the links Gav provided above. So my question is: I need to do both doors and the hatch seal, so do I need 3 of the Kia weather strip kits? Will go to Clarke rubber for the top outer hatch seal(smaller one)

Yes, still have the original motor Have plans on doing a rebuild in the future for this. There's an L28 on the engine stand ready to go in. Just needs a couple of finishing touches. And yes I have enjoyed spending some time with the old girl recently. brings back a lot of good memories Plans are to go over the mechanicals, get an engine in and get her on club rego and just enjoy her for a bit before I get to old! There is a little rust, but overall she's pretty good for her age. The paint job is still ok considering it's been sitting for so long. Just lucky that she was in a shed out of the elements. -

She looked like a fairly honest car. A good starting point for $15,000. I wonder if it will reappear on ebay too!! -
Hi All, have been a member here for a little while now and thought it was time to properly introduce myself. My first taste of all things Datsun came at 19 years of age when I purchased a 240K Coupe. This was 1981 and life was good! Loved the lines of this car but hated the blind spots caused by those massive rear quarter panels. Lost this car in a fire when I was about 23. They say when one door closes another opens and yes I purchased my first 240Z. Paid $2500 way back when(1985) This car was a rust bucket I hate to say and after some great times this car met it's maker nearly 3 years later courtesy of a car accident. So the search began for my second Zed. This search took me to Wonthaggi in 1987, thanks to the Trading Post. The add had run for about 4 consecutive weeks and I was starting to wonder if there was a problem with the car. Anyway I made contact and the rest is history so to speak! First time I saw the car I knew it was a little different to my first Zed. Yes. I had stumbled onto a Series One as I found out later. Paid $4800 for her back then. Had a lot of good times and years in that car, but sad to say it has sat in my shed since 1997. Have owned a couple of other Zeds since purchasing my Series One. A second Series One(car #351)came along in 1996. This had a G nose kit attached. The remains of that car can be seen in the background of one of the pics below. This car is a story for another day! There was a 1977 260Z 2 seater in the picture for a few years(1996-99) Sold to a lady in Canberra. Still own a 1982, Series 2, 280ZX as well. Well, as life often goes, you get sidetracked by one thing or another. Hopefully today is the start to getting it back on the road as I have washed it for the first time in 20 years and all the 'dust and crap is gone' She's car #268 Cheers, Sean.
