  1. Good news on the car front boys. Mighty Mick was happy to sell me his diff. So short of paying some cash, no further work for me to do in this area. So my Zed lives another day and ready to go. Well almost. A few minor tweaks and then ready for the next big run. Getting pretty keen for a track run. So might look at doing one of those before winter.
  2. I think Sulio is going home first so he might get there around 8pm. I will be there just after then. See you guys there. Cheers
  3. I will try and make it. I will have my boys with me. Is it really 8.30pm? That is pretty late. I won't be able to stay that long if we are having a late start. Earlier would be better. But I will go with the flow. I figure Sulio is tight with time these days. Cheers
  4. Well we all made it home safe and sound after another great week in Tassie. There were many highlights including seeing 100's of dolphins on our boat trip. Amazing. Some incredible driving stints which will be remembered for years to come. Thanks again to "Mighty Mick" for ensuring we all got home safely. If you are ever in Tassie look him up and say hello. His awesome V8 Zed is something to be seen and heard. Thanks to all who came. I know you all had a ball. Till next time stay safe. Cheers Craig (Tour Director)
  5. Couple of hours till boarding. Everyone seems ready. See you all on the boat for a great trip. Cheers
  6. OK Tassie fans we have less than 2 days to go. I have printed my Boat Boarding pass and plan to get to the car park around 6.00 where we can all meet up prior to loading onto the boat as a group. I will have the 2-way set on channel 16 for those rocking up. Make sure your fuel tank is full and your spare petrol can in the car is empty. I am bringing my lap top to load up the days photo's for viewing over a beer or 3 at the end of each day. I will have a small fridge in, drinks, chips & nibblies and suggest you guys do the same. Saves mucking around when we settle into our rooms each afternoon prior to heading out for those sensational meals. Ha Mick we have your suspension on the back seat of Gordon's GTR ready to drop off at your work shop first thing Wednesday morning, after breaky at Chuckers. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night.
  7. Yes folks we are planning a BBQ for 8:30 at Sulio's factory. All meat and drink will be covered by the Club. Club founder Gavin who is in town at the moment will be there, hopefully with his Zed. So come one, come all. We will have arrived back from Tassie the day before so I am sure there will be plenty of tall stories. I hope you can make it as it's been a while. Look forward to catching up. Address is: 5/54 Howley's road Notting Hill . Date is Thursday 23/02/2012 - Updated today Cheers Craig Last edit by -gav240z
  8. Ahhhhh Simon you know you want to strap on your chaps and come on down.
  9. Since it's going to be wet from tomorrow till we leave I thought I better go for one last test blast tonight. All good and filled with petrol ready to go now.
  10. Yeah last time Lurch couldnt fit his legs into the spa.
  11. Maybe I miss counted John.
  12. 5 Star in Hobart $400- a night for a room but obviously we have some cheaper nights. The places we stay at are fantastic. Going to be one awesome trip. As you all know I have now booked our 3 hour Ocean Speed boat cruise off Port Arthur if the weather is good like last time it will be a memorable trip. I have attached a shot from out of accommodation window in Hobart and a shot of the last boat trip. 6 Days to go.
  13. Less than a week to go Tassie fans. Start your engines!!!!
  14. OK gents I spoke to Sulio last night. He was happy to do the BBQ and will chat to Gavin today some time. At present we are floating the dates for Sunday 12th or 13th of Feb or on our return from Tassie Wed 22nd or 23rd of Feb. This all depends on Gavin's availability of course. Hopefully we can get something going at late notice. The club has plenty of funds to cover the costs. Maybe your place next time Ashley. Cheers Craig
  15. Welcome home Gavin. We should get Sulio to try and organise a Zed BBQ at his work for after our return from Tassie? I will try and contact him. He is a bit quiet these days with kids and all.
  16. I have seen some from the States that looked pretty good. But not a fan of the mock up you have there. Not sure vents on the bonnet and on the flaps might look a bit much. But that comes down to personal taste.
  17. I have an old pic in my gallery of me out dragging a late model Ferrari at Sandown taken years ago. But he was faster stopping and going around corners. That was a fun day.
  18. Tempted. Did you get a red one Ash?
  19. Yeah really looking forward to it now boys. We have Mick joining us for dinner at Stanley for the first night. Like I said last time down there. "I have never had a bad meal in Tassie. In fact all the dinners were excellent and I will order the same if I can". Ha Yes sadly will be wearing out some tyres and some brakes but it will be well worth it.
  20. Hi Gav, Have to tee'd up a night or gathering of the local Zed fraternity when you are over here? If no and keen, throw some dates out there and mabe we can organise a BBQ or something. Some of us will be in Tassie 14 to 21st Feb. Safe trip over. Cheers Craig
  21. Ha Ha Welcome Tom. They giving you a hard time already. Persist you will be OK. I don't see how you will have a problem finding an old Zed. Get one and people will be impressed. Then you will feel even more a part of this community. Keep up the questions. Sometimes new blood, ideas are a good thing rather than us old stale farts answering the usual bullshit questions like.... wheel offsets, flare kits, how much is a Zed worth and how do I make my car go faster. Ha Ha Cheers
  22. I have had my Zed for around 16 years or so and bought this one off my brother. Spent too much money to part with it now. Besides it's almost where I want it and drives great. It has almost always been on the road. Only goes off for a month or two while big the mods are done. My kids will drive it some day. They are 8 & 10. It should almost be finished by then. I could be tempted to upgrade to a late model R35 GTR some day but would still keep the old girl. My bro Gordon has had Zeds for maybe 30 years. Not sure how long he has had his last one? Maybe 20+ years. It's his fault, he got me into Zeds and why I have no money. Ha
  23. I put my toqw hook just infront of the radiator. Custom made a metal bracket that bolted to the chasis. It is hidden away well inside the G-nose. It works ok for me. Sadly it has been used a few times. Ha You have to think of how you attach a tow rope if you are deep inside a sand trap. You can't access the under body, so it works well for me.
  24. Well I for one have been getting extremely horny everytime I log onto the site recently. Not sure why. Well....... It might have something to do the the seemingly new adverting banners for Cougar life and I think another grab a granny site. Ha ha keep them coming Gav. Newly single my self I just wish they worked. . If we ever get real desperate we can pull some cash out of the Viczcar bank account. Cheers PS I to am a big fan of the sight although some of the main contributors have gone quiet. Swings & round abouts and life's changes for us all.
  25. Sounds nice John. I just hope it doesn't end up another half finished projects. The LS1 will put a smile on your dial. Sounds like you are well under way. Big project though. So committment is the key. Good luck with it. Cheers Craig
