rear is not a problem ashtey allread lowered but front are custom made ones so i have to get them redone or get new ones made with slightly stiffer spring. going to wait till the 17" are on it before the lowering starts. actualy i like that colour too.

i think who ever did that drawing is bloody good. but i did notice few things were borrowed from the miura concept car expecialy the rear light.

i like the door trim trick he did matching the tunnel. NICE

nah im cool no hard feelings i didnt think it was directed at me. i just said my 5c worth. everyone has their opininion. i do like when the manufacturers go back in time. ie new mustang, FORD GT40 (almost a exact copy of the original just more practical for people above 5ft.) GM camaro, PT cruiser prowler etc.. just to get back to the roots what made that name a brand. and my grudge against renault well they the ones that are pulling the shots now not nissan. getting rid of a cars like pulsar and replacing it with tiida and than stoping the S1X (s10 to s15) series platform all together (the silvia platform) been with nissan since the 60s. i guess they are rationalising trying to make a quick extra buck.

well the new GTR is nice but somehow dont think they be selling like hot cakes at $150k plus car.if i had 150k for a car ill be looking at different badges. and to compete here im sure they be removing lot of things from it and wont be as good as the full loaded one. 350z is nice ive driven few too. i wouldnt mind one. but still i would like something closer to the original 240z than the 350z is. as for imports even the r35 not my cup of tea. looks too much Maximaish than again they are based on a 4 door car. not a true sports car. thats y i like this concept thing looks great has lot of the original lines but still modern. hope nissan gets their fingure out a bit more and starts giving more exciting cars that people can afford i say resurect back 200sx 180sx silvia EXA, and hotted up hatches like the pulsar SSS and ET turbo and a real nice retro looking z.

nice project. i pretty much had similar ideas like you for my 2+2 but than rationalised few things. i would definetly agree weldign the cones and deleting the indicators. best visual mod i did to the car. now its nice and smooth and makes the front that much longer. you can check my gallery for the pics. i didnt bother installing side repeaters and i did look at installing clear nismo r33 ones but changed my mind.early z didnt have side repeaters so im going with it never had them. if i cant run away from it i was going to fabricate led style flashers on the end of the mirrors. bit like Mercedes honda style. but for time being nothing. i cant beleive u picked that parts car for $50 it even has a front lip which is worth more than that. good luck with the project and keep us updated.

First nissan has to get rid of renault. than we may get something decent in the sport car range. just look at the tiida what a Heap of S^%T. that would be a great classic resurection for the Z. i would put my name ont he waiting list if nissan ever comes up with such car.

im still waiting as well. if its going by slow mail we could be waiting fair bit longer.

L28 VS SR20DET IN A 180SX i wont even bother going through the list y shouldn't be done. but paying lot more money for going backwards in almost every aspect just to get that sound. how about spending on a sound systems with some waterproof speakers mounting them in the boot facing outside. than with a flick of a switch have it sound like a L28 or v12 456gt ferrari or any other car in the world and you could be driving a 3cyl daihatsu LOL its been done few years ago to an electric car but it had a big sub and few speakers mounted outside (out of view) with a selection of sounds that can be downloaded from the net or grab a recorder and record the sound yourself. it uses tacho signal to give the right notes at the desired rpm. Also has been shown on tv in a show beyond tomorow or something like that. ive seen something similar on ebay like fake blow off sounds and the exhaust sound changer using the same concept as above. i think it was from ebay china. so have a hunt and may be lot cheaper option to get that sound have you been in a sr20det or ca18det powerd 180sx? try it out.. u be suprised.

LOL i like the comment NEVER but.......... petrol prices are fetching higher and higher. we got to start making some spirits and running our cars on that. LOL have more power pitty has to be all retuned. i was thinking what will happend in say 10-15 years time when petrol be very expensive. what will the old buggers run on. i though EU has some bio fuel. which cant be all that bad. be similar to leaded and unleaded issues we had few years ago. so wont be all that grim. otherwise hybrid powered Z. than hybridZ website will have all new meaning. man i just love how my Z sounds now and dont want to change it ever.

dough i just threw the last one i had in the scrap metal bin. all besides the condensor which was missing. i still may have few small bis and pieces but nothing significant. also had two factory a/c compressors which also went to scrapers. only if you were 2 weeks earlier with the post.

I cant recall any rust on it.i take some pics and forward it to you. though being busy as lately it will be closer to end week before i go back to the workshop to check it out.

no spare wheel at all no jack and no wheel brace LOL. And its a daily driver. if blow out get my missus or mates to bring the things and off i go. though never happend yet. thank god for the technology and mobile fones did blow a gearbox in the industrial area one sunday morning 2AM while practicing 0-100kmh times. called few friends. 10min wasnt alone anymore in the middle of nowhere. 30min after fone call a car and a trailer was on the location. who needs RAA RACQ OR NRMA basicaly have a close group of friends on 24hr standby. but be prepared to return the favour. i do have a space saver which will eventualy find its way in the car. but having no jack and tools what the point carrying the wheel save weight and fuel (at $1.67 PL sounds better and better)

another option if couldnt be stuffed paying big $$$ for reskin. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,1618.0.html i couldnt be stuffed paying that much money plus ive seen reskinned dashes crack bubble after only 2 or 3 years. i wouldnt be happy about that after paying 600 for it. but if u want the so called almost "factory" look even the reskin is different grain to original. caps i agree with other guys it just makes it look so cheap.

adelaide to melb prob wont be too bad from 30 to 75 i guess if i can get CouriersPlease to deliver it. but not sure. other option would be through a trucking company again prob around 50. ill take same pics and you make an offer as it only hogging my storage space at the moment.

i think the mount was questionable initialy looked bit grubby but when cleaned up it had small seperation of the rubber from one side to the other. though after driving it with dodgy tailshaft the whole thing was just loose. the new one from nissan a post 75 mount is bit different than the one i had. the rubber area in front is almost doubled. apperently this was the heavy duty version for the r200 model diff. also bit more pricey the pre 75 mount was $95 Trade while the post 75 was $120 trade. Rare Spares for the heavy duty wanted $148. as i needed it urgently i got one from Nissan on Overnight Service. well now the car feel so smooth that it actualy feels slow may have to bump the boost up slightly more to make it more fun. yeah the nolathane stuff is bit brutal for everyday car. bit too stiff. hence i redid the trany mount for softer rubber type. lot better and more comfortable to drive. even the missus noticed the big difference.

well had few days of work and i thought i put some of those hours into the z. tailshaft was removed and was sent for rebalancing. (apperently was bad ) after reweld apperently didnt need balancing. while all that stuff was appart i noticed my diff mount was cactus so new one ordered from nissan. also re visited my almost solid trany mount with new insulator and redone the metal work. all fitted back and the car is transformed. so quiet and smooth. $300 after was definetly worth it. so Craig u inspired me to revisit some issues and definetly was a big reward. now i got a vibration less 2+2 too
