to me sounds like someone tried to boost the fan speed by having an extra connection from the fuse box. to verify this: turn your fan on low and than flick the switch.see if the fan speeds up. other than that who knows what 'brilliant idea" previous owner had and installed it. other than that, write up the details like u did but add specific relay info. ie let me know what pin number they hooked everything up numbers are 86 85 85a 30 etc..... than i can try and figure out what they trying to achive with it.

love the fender mirrors. i was lucky enough to buy a set from nissan (prob last one) for a small fortune. my 1970 240 has original guards with fender mirror holes. (though they do have the plugs on them now) though still plugs are genuine nissan ones (an oval looking thing. basicaly looks like the fender mirror base minus the mirror). but it will be going on the 240z as well as flares. legalities for early cars dont think there is an issue. possibly for 72 onwards cant recall which adr is the offending one.

yeah those rims look good on echos, yaris, micra daihatsu miras and other crap K cars. hmmm maybe there is a link between that. :-\ but i know what u mean zedevan they look good on pics pitty they dont suit many cars oh well.

yeah i use dupont too. good paints. but that $500 pl who's ripping you off. is it pearl or irredescant or chrome ? if aint that somebody is making good money on you. group 4 metalics are around 80-150 p,l 3 layer pearls can be from 150-300 pl. the chamelon crap is 700+ and chromes are 900+ but du pont dont have the later two. single colours ie no metalics or pearls range from 40 to 75 pl. that is trade price mind you. nevertheless the colour is very nice.

Hmm in order of preferance though nissan/Datsun R390 road car Fairlady Z 432 240z with VH45DETT 450Z 260z 2 seater with RB26DETT and AWD R35 GTR S15 200sx Spec R GT Z34 370Z R34 GTR R32 GTR S14 S2 200sx (got that one) 240z with sr20DET/RB26DETT (got most of it needs engine and work) 260Z 2+2 RB20DET (got this one too ) i seem to be working from the bottom of the list toward the top maybe a 240k 2 door gtr replica or real thing.but i prob look into mazdas before getting that one. ie RX3 but not a datsun/nissan so doesnt count. not suprising no one listed Tiida or Micra

if u doing it like the 180sx pic i thing it will look mad. though personaly i wouldnt bother for road car (bit too into ur face) but for a race drift i think it has that "dont screw with me" look. also for a laugh like Sullio suggested get a pipe on the roof and see what cops say. be good for some photoshop talented people do do one anyway. it will be an interesting look.

i think there is one in japan with GTR running gear. though the engine sits lot closer to the front. i think they remodded the rad support to fit the engine. not the nicest job. but considering the difference between the distances from firewall to strut towers on S30 and R32 R33 its amazing. prob only straight line car as the balance would be thrown out the window.

are they good or not ill let someone who has one to answear it. as for weight.... well. if its 2 seater it will be slightly over 1050kg for 240 and bit more for 260z. 2+2 weighs around 1200. so even if u lifting the whole car the hoist will be ok with it. there is a post somewhere on the forum of weght of the L series. dont think it was more than 500kg with everything on it.

Ford vs holden. owned and worked on both. both are bad as each other. Holden has dodgy plastic that is very weak and cracks very easily after 5 years its so brittle u dont want to touch any interior part. ford better plastic but engineering is bit on the funny side. ie try taking off or getting to distributor on the ea el models. BA-FG try removing the thermostat housing from the head without taking out the fuel rail. and try taking the fuel rail without removing the manifold. a joke. Holden just as bad. whats with the damn steering wheel and that damn vibration when pushed. from VB to VE they still do it. biggest problem for holden is the materials they use is crap. Had lot of commonwhores and lot of falcons and reasons why they suck is so huge i can write a book 3 times thickness of the yellow pages. your mates xr6 with those troubles must be a lemon i got one 2003 and had a 2005 xr6 and none of the issues u described are apperent. though my biggest concern with new fords will be rust. nothing is sealed or protected properly. they got good and bad but face it they not BMW or MERC dont expect falcons to have gaps like 5 series BMW or Holden to be smooth as Merc. they been put together by thrown out obselete parts bin from parent company.lot of parts reused (ie remelted to make new plastics) worked on lot of cars and find the jap cars have been put and designed quite clever besides few models and some us with big monkey arms have issues getting to some locations. yeah i found that new v8 commodore drivers are same ones that used to be the WRX drivers in the mid 90s just with even bigger egos. thinking they gods on the road my big 6L V8 ahh the feeling when u go past them is so nice and again when u see their head look the other way when u stop at the next set of lights.

I do agree both Ford and GMH are same but to stir things up i take the Ford as GMH is local in SA and they think its the best thing that rolled on 4 wheels. anyway i wore my old OZEmail sponsered FORD Shirt and the GM boy above commented about it and made it sound like "well I guess they need support may as well be me" like im lower life form. turn around and asked what so good about GMH compared to FORD they both crap but since they banned the brand and car that i was going for in racing cause it was destroying the competition. i chose ford cause GMH seem to fall apart lot more after few years. anyway few more words have exhanged but i ignored his comments as he didnt know what he was on about and didnt feel like wasting any more time. all i felt like saying ok smart AR$E bring you big 6L V8 VE SS vs my 2L 32yo jap crap and lets see who wins the pink slip. wont be the first or last ss that sniffed my BP 98ultimate behind me. moral of the story how many try hards like above u came accros?or any other story vs anything. ie should a MAZDA wankel or a Toyota 1jz 2jz reside in a DATO. seems to be popular stir me up.

if u drivelike a grany than keep the L. L28 will guzzle lot more than stevos figures for his l26. im even suprised of the L26. than again who drives a Z like a granny? if do u dont deserv to have one (I better start running for cover) RB20DET is not bad on fuel and has lot more than 160hp. prob closer to double that with few mods = very exciting and fast car. being young prob not a good formula. In my case i wanted a modern engine with parts availability and huge aftermarket support. than something that when not pushed gives good economy.( lets face it to make the power u got to put the energy into it so more power more fuel) but where things even up or become good is when u dont mash the right foot down but just cruising along. i get roughly 10L/100km on average out my rb20det. and gets a good squirtfull daily its been in the car for 2 years and no issues with motor what so ever besides the every 4000km services to keep it happy. SR20det be better option little bit lighter than rb20 and slightly better fuel economy. power is about the same but sr20 has lot better tourque curve than RB20. rb20 needs to be reved unilke sr20. to help you out. well if u doing it purely for fuel economy than its a false economy like Stevo found. if u doing it for extra power and reliabilty and hassle free (no constant tunning required) and to better fuel economy it may be worth the effort.

spec r gt is on my shoping list too. but ill take any one of them for the right price. yeah got many cars but they need many hours to make them good. i used R31 TI as daily while was working on the z and 200sx was sleeping at home. was dual fuel low kms great car. boring as hell but the power windows buttons kept me amused so did the trip computer LOL..... at least u sorted out what u want.

kinda agree. though 350z is not a bad car. i like the nismo version better but i guess the price tag follows. stock 350z needs something its too buggy. to me 370z is big improvment on the 350z. and i do like it more at least in pictures till i see one in real life.

lol thanks guys for sticking up for me while i was away. to me every manufacturer has a decent engine that can be put into their own brands. half this and that kinda kills it for me. i preffer the major components ie engine, and shell to be from the same manufacturer everything else well who cares. just looks funny seeing toyota mazda or whatever in a nissan and the other way around. not saying the other engines are worse they could be better than the same manufacturer but its a half breed mut. saying that I still appricate the hard work that goes with even if the engine is not nissan in a S30. its your car u do what U want with it and i do what i want with mine. everyone is happy. i do own a 350chev and its great motor lot of tourque and reliable as. Thats why it sits in the middle of my boat. but i wouldn't put it in the Z. though if i had a GM product i wouldnt hesitate. hmmm 350 chev RWD Holden Calibra, LOL now theres a project.

ill throw in the spanner on this and go different. my other car was my daily S14 200sx. than took it of the road when z was finished. though i did modify my s14 and spent bit of cash on it previous to the Z. These days moding S13/S14/S15 is lot cheaper than what it used to be 5 years ago. and theres mountains of aftermarket stuff that doesnt cost an arm or leg. Never planing to sell the S14. great car and im the second owner and picked the car when it had 25k km on it. still in very good condition. though i managed to convince my other half to sell her car (which she was very fond off) but luckily changed when she took the s14 for drive so now my z is my daily and s14 is hers. (both my cars ) though she takes good care of it so i dont mind. recently went to Melbourne to purchase a S14 or s15 200sx for my cousin. after lot of disapointing cars we did manage to find a clean blue s15 spec S stock (thats what we wanted, modded cars 99% are thrashed) it was auto but the price of 16.4k was briliant. 1k for man conversion still ahead compared to 20k+ manual version. drove the car back to Adelaide. Absolute gem. lot nicer than the S14 even though its same car and suspesnion but it feels so much better. I say go for it. even if u mod it it wont cost you arm and a leg. if u buy modded make sure u get from a poser (ie there some owners that have all the goodies but never go past the 3000rpm but the price reflects as well) performance upgrade that s15 needs is bigger intercooler price from 259 to 699 for trust Kit. exhaust from 450 to 1k for big brand kit. other than that maybe king springs to bring it close to ground and nice set of rims for approx 1.5k. other than that it doesnt need anything else for daily. even if u just lower it, its good enough. im in process of getting one myself. well for the missus it will be her daily but my weekend warrior #2 lol only way to get her to agree to get one without selling my 260z. i dont think i ever drive anything other than 2 door sports coupes. when family happens well i need a tow car sometime soon so that will take care of that for family runs. so enjoy the S15 before they get too old and thrashed. Z well its more an investment it will never loose $$$ the older it gets
