SOLD back in 2009 (believe it or not still get 1-2 sms per month asking if available 8 years later) Yeah i know its a mazda adverstised on z forum.I know few members here fancy the old mazda and rotary so if u know someone that may be looking for one of these point them into right direction. (did PM Gavin about permission to do this and was granted) ok so FOR SALE is my unstarted Project car that i had in possesion for few years and collected few parts along the way details bellow: The Car: 1974 Mazda RX-4 Hardtop (coupe) 2door L23S chassis which means it had a 13B rotary engine from factory. Last of the "good looking 13B" powered Rx4. original colour is yellow The Parts: Car is currently fitted with 4cyl auto which starts and runs. in the package there is a Series 5 13B turbo rotary with 5spd gearbox loom sensors etc.... manual conversion pedal box with master cylinder and hoses/lines. all chrome strips that were missing or damaged on the car. Badges and moulds. center console, dash facia, overhead console, rear parcel shelf all in good condition for replacement of the current ones in the car. set of 4 13" original wheel trims (hubcaps) front timing cover for 13B to make fitment of the 13bt easy. bolt up job. spare dash in good condition. owners manual and complete service manual all MAZDA print. The Condition: the car has rust in typical Mazda spots. which are around the back window bonnet/boot (replacement boot supplied) spots on seal panel little bit on rear 1/4 driver side roof gutter and few spots in front of the doors. Chasis, floor, fire wall ,radiator support etc... no visible rust what so ever. still original paint under the car. also has the original rotary shapped key the car was last registered in VIC and i did a vic check before i bought the car and was all in clear. the car is located in Adelaide at the moment. price $3900 ono for everything. thats what i paid for it all. need space and current time and workload, limits me to actualy start and finish this car. will be sad to see it go. not desperate to sell and i think the price is fairly reasonable if not a bargain. a real RX4 hardtop is hard to find. be weary of the 929 clones as rx4 for bargain price. PM or contact me anytime on (number deleted)

as chris mentioned but u can also get them in air powerd fro lot cheaper. i guess u need an air comp so if u got one could be a good tool to have. helped me a fair bit around my z. but like said above 4" with 1mm disk works for me quite well. but hey hes allready done the job story finished.

yep nice work. may have to get you to bend me some rails for the 240z when u get spare time. no rush. -
yeah same story i got given when i got my 240z fender mirrors. though he did order i think the left one from japan even though it was no longer stocked. lucky me i did end up getting it after a week. so possibly got the last set of the 240z fender mirrors. so try and order the one that is no longer stocked or in production. who knows maybe there is one hiding somewhere in nissan japan spare parts dealer. price is steep but still I think its worth it.

yeah i had kids in the neigbourhood thinkin its dukes of hazzrd charger WTF (not orange dont have numbers and flag on the roof) too much red cordial me think. but on the road:is it a Jag, porsche and once i got is it a mustang (??) or nice 240Z than i go to explaining no its a 260z. but lot of people scream out GO DATO!
-
see if i were you ill find another reason to make a road trip to Melbourne. ie small holiday. drop the car to the bloke Sulio said it takes one day and on the way home u have a new car to show off. think of it as a Z facelift and ur mini holiday. though dealing with tafes (here anyway) u may be without a car for long time. they not quick with their work.
-
that is Vaginal Speculum Z and kit as its known around here. u may want to seperate it from one another to have any luck selling it. in particular the front .

i would have preffered that one.oh well. my mate has the same clutch i his s14 and still seems to be ok. and hes done mor ethan 3000kms. if stuffs up again will change it. the rubish dodgy xtreem clutch lasted 2yrs and 8000kms which is not bad for a clutch i knew was dodgy. it wasn't right from day one.
-
LOL was thinking about that be bloody quick car but................ ........only reason for wanting a yank muscle car is cause of the V8. but 5.4L Boss with twin turbos will be nice too even 5L with twins should be enough in a 1300kg car. still trying to get the ins and outs about registering the car. know lot more about them and besides having agricultural suspension and steering is fairly impressive car. got few version of the colour scheme so the colour most probably will change. more money
-
roughly just over 200kw at the wheels. wouldnt go twin plate for a road car its too much of a pain. driven a cars with it and hate it with pasion. race car fair enough. even the puck clutch i hate them too. gearbox shudder etc.... though it was between this or the organic plate. though didnt like the organic plate as it wasnt the same one i have in the S14. so we see how it treats me. if stuffs up may go custom again like i did for s14.

nice car. very clean interior expecialy for light coloured. the rims should look good. i had similar ones on my tX5 years ago. as long as offset i sok should be ok.
-
Z back on the road. yay and its so much nicer to drive than before. quiter easier smoother. heheheheh also found few "holes" where the fumes were getting in and got them sealed. at the moment no fumes but i haven't droped one of the windows down to see it if it will come in. also sealing those holes made the cabin lot quiter so as the exhaust. lot better now heheh cant wait to drive again.
-
depends what the crud is? . i had burnt clear coating on mine bit of paint striper did the job than autosol to give it nice and bright. other than that use a old credit card or similar and try force it off if its more stuborn.
-
r32 gtr ones would be nice but still fetch good money. plus retrim end up costly. my favourite seats are Bride but again like GTR can be exy. btw the car looks so much better now and great work on the console. im going the same path for mine just need to find time to do it.

yeah u $#@^%$%@&$%$&#@% i still got to wait few weeks before i can go for a drive. grrrrrrrrr but again lucky you

All my newbie mechanical questions in one thread

just a note regarding tectaloy. ive seen some bad stuff using tectaloy coolants. now it just could be me and my case and few other recomendations from radiator place. but since than i only use the manufacturers coolant ie nissan coolant for nissans, motocraft for ford etc......... u get my point. apperently some coolants react wierdly with the alloy and may cause issues. since then i never had any issues. now not saying that tectaloy hasnt got their finger out and fixed their issue since. its been few years but i rather play it safe. -
o i get it now. if u put it on the lowest point than the whole thing will expand hence lower it down. while closer to anchor point rises the car. or em i FULL of $hit. man coil overs are so much better
-
nah the lowering blocks were in the box. sorry should have been more clear. so the leaf spring being positioned to the highest anchor point rises the car?? bit new to the leaf spring arrangment but to me if u place it closer to the anchor point should lower it unless im missing a point how these things work. i wont have it sitting high. like XA said coke can height. or whatever legal point i can get away with as the car will have to go through rego department for the RH converson and to be registered in OZ. still California plates on it. aftre that she be scraping the ground
-
im currently browing the net finding more info on these things. so fa i know its made in California 7 april in 67 has a 289 2V. also its definetly hardtop from factory LOL as if someone will chagne the fastback to hardtop but hey u never know mods on it so far hes done something to the front suspension for better handling extra holes etc... also i think he has xf steering box since its converted and also xf hubs and vented disk brakes replacing the drums. now from pics i cant tell if power steering but if not i definetly want it. wiring not fussed thats my bread and butter so i can almost do that blindfolded. prob upgrade the brakes even further to something bigger and better possibly AU or BF rotors and calipers and do rear disk conversion as well. also i think its been droped as ive noticed lowering blocks and the rear leaf springs have been positioned on the highest position= car lower. so as for the shimming and stuff as far as i know the front end is not stock. so its eaitehr done or not required but ill check with him anyway for as many details as possible. here some more pics
