Did you see how much they claim it weighs in at? 880KG - that is light for a 260z/280z bodied car.
-
Thanks Dave that make a lot more sence now - 328ps crank and 275rwhp and this does work with the dyno's screen shots shown like you find it hard to work out the language with the aid of bable etc but then alot of the time is still hard to workout the translation. Like you these figures are more workable with a Zed head in NA format - now if it was boosted then much bigger numbers would be seen (if build for boost ) Cheers Mike

Gotta ask for more details and/or proof of that. Sounds like a big load of bullshit to me. Dave No all true - The engine is not really a L28 anymore - runs a lot of Kameari Engine Works internals including the custom fully counter weighted 83mm stroker with 138mm rods and some light 89mm pistons. It also has TWM triple throttle bodies and ATI Super Damper. He has blown a few engines over the years and in 2004 his dyno showed 300-310ps at the wheels = 400HP at the flywheel. Here is the dyno sheet. I think it is running 11.5:1 and the head has 38cc cambers running big lift/duration. This year he changed his header for a new 6-1 drag header (looks like a Kameari unit - not cheap) and made 328PS at the wheels. So yes it is a 400HP L28 only 328PS at the wheels big

Correct - I did own one - should have kept that one too like so many other zeds I have owned maybe one day I will pickup another one they do come up for sale here in NZ every now and then.

The Nissan Cube - there are a few here in NZ - seem to be getting more imported all the time.

They are notice the horizontally opposed six-cylinder - great Honda engine same engine the powers the Goldwing and the old Valkyrie (shame the stopped making them - I once followed Aaron Slight around a local race trace - me on my VFR800 him on a Valkyrie and he was very very fast) Anyway these will be powered with the current version of these liquid-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine which are 1832cc (they look like it going by the valve covers)

Now play fair you got my L14 rods

wow - such demand for the light covers - to Gav and Russjz-Zed sorry but first in best dressed so Mr Camouflage will be the new ower of my headlight covers. The winner was chosen by the first reply/request to purchase that I recieved. These are new items and I might be able to get another set however they might cost more not sure yet until I find out from my contact in Japan if he can still get them. Here is pics of what they look like

I have set of these chome headlight bands and lense I will sell if someone is keen PM but I don't want to lose $$ on them so I will sell them for what I paid which is $360 + shipping (I could bring to Melboune on my next business trip next year) They are new never installed. Way cheaper than the G-Nose light covers I have purchased now that I have G-Nose.

Thanks for taking the time out and having a drink with a Kiwi guys. It was good to chat and catchup etc. Pleased I could help with the L14 rods. Cheers Mike -
"Speed" - a black 280zx 2 seater gets hit from the rear by the bus and is shot over a car transporter - many many more too, there is one in the car wash shot of "Bring it on". There was one that used be on "That 70's Show" (do you get that in Oz? I has been 3 years since I lived there). Re bond movie - not sure there was one with a Toyota 2000GT back in the day but I think that would be a close to a Japanese car you would get in a bond movie.

yep a white 260z 2+2 if I recall correctly watched the movie on a flight between Auckland and Melbourne when it first came out
-
Someone must be taking the piss - looks like a new 911 has mated with a Audi TT and a 350z and this is the after birth.....I have only just started to get nice and warm about the 350z - now a wider body with a V8 now that would be cool - given Nissan/Renault have killed the in-line 6

Auto any sports car is more to the point - However I can understand Dad has a Z32 300zx auto and mum has a RX8 again auto however they are 50+ so there must be a market for these things.

well here is a pic of a factory car here in New Zealand with just such a vinyl roof fitted. I believe this was fitted from the factory. It is a real HS30-H aka ZG. It is an auto with every option fitted. So I say yes they were real See here for pics http://www.zclub.org.nz/album_showpage.php?full=true&pic_id=159 http://www.zclub.org.nz/album_showpage.php?full=true&pic_id=158

Dave_hl have you thought about some of those aftermarket reversing sensors? ie mount to the front so when you are parking you don't hit the front air dam on the curb/wall etc. I am thinking I will do this to my ZG nose on my car (once I custom make a spoiler to go on the lower section)

For those that like rare pieces of engineering - some of my fav engine pic's For those that want to see more (including the build) visit this site http://www.tomitaku.com/works/tc24/index.html I could post lots different Zed's but I will keep it down to just this one car - I think it looks the business. Click on these thumbnails for large pics And for those that like the S20 powered cars here is some images from the Nismo Festival 2005 Some race action Including the 380 race car powered with the GR8 Prince engine (what the S20 engine was built on) But I still love the OS Giken TC24-B1 above too

S30 Zcar Chassis Codes and what they mean
NZeder replied to gav240z's topic in Business Directory + Links
gav you are missing a few on the JDM space. GS30 (yes they do exist - carb L20a 2+2 well looking at the JDM part catalog they do) S31 L20aE ie 2000cc EFI 2 seater GS31 L20aE 2+2 Don't forget the two models for each of these ZS and ZL, I will dig up the codes from the JDM catalog I have Then there is the JDM HS130 and HGS130's also yep the did get the L28 power cars however they were all sold in Japan a Fairlady 280z (not 280zx like the rest of the world) Cheers Mike PS will edit this with the code soon -
Great reply RPMZ I am building a 3014cc non stroked L28 ie 4mm overbore = 90mm bore  I will be running triple throttle bodies so it should be a bit more street able. It is funny how different cars do different 1/4 times there was a racing zed here in NZ, now fitted with a 350 V8 (circuit track) that went down the 1/4 on one of the clubs drag days. Its time was 13.1 @ 105MPH now here is the good bit the engine setup. Stock L28 bottom end balanced and the usual race pre work Stock L28 dish pistons (yep dished pistons stock 86mm sizing) Head E88 from 260c (the 4 door sedan) modified so with the dish pistons 10:1 CR - I think the cc were 34 with stock L28 valves MSA stage III cam. Modified mikuni 44PHH (modified in Japan) R200 3.9 Locked diff CV setup and 6 pots brakes on the front and 2 pots on the rear. Made 150rwkw with 7800RPM rev limit I know these claims about the engine to be true as I helped (goffer) assemble/install this engine in the car. I am very surprised your 3L only put down 103rwkw - I have seen a few stock sized L28 put down 130rwkw here (again balanced and head work but still 86mm bore and triples) Re the fuel consumption thing - care factor: It is a sports car after all if we were concerned about fuel consumption we would not be playing with zed cars but this would be an electric car forum or alt fuel forum  Will be great to get your feedback on the RB engine install one day

how did u first fall for the z car and how did u get it
NZeder replied to pauly_adams's topic in General Discussions
I was living in Singapore in the mid 70's so got hocked on 70's Japanese cars (I was only 5 at time but it left an impression visiting all the car yards with Dad who was in the market for a new car - looked at 260z 2+2, Celica's and what he purchased a Mitsi GTO-GS-R) I had a 240z matchbox toy with flares (my 2 year old son now plays with the same toy + a 350z that I got for him, it starts again ) so it has alway been there - in my blood that is. Then when I was 14 my mate who left school got a job and a 240z (in NZ you start driving at 15 and back then you got a full license from the day you passed) so I was re-united with the love affair - got out the old matchbox, looked at old car mags that Dad had and dreamed for the day I would finish school/uni so I could get a job and purchase my first Zed. I still have the first Zed I purchased my 1977 RS30 (2 seater) I have owned another 4 but never sold the first one I purchase (the others have long gone) I would love to own one of the following also (or both if $$ were not a problem) PS30 Fairlady Z 432 powered with the S20 engine KPGC10 Skyline GT-R again power with the S20 engine. Maybe one day I will have one in the garage - if you set a goal and work towards it, it can happen -
Ok I did find the copy of the old broucher (before they relocated resently) it was not were I thought it was. Anyway attached is the pic of the Mustang with the 17"x9" Arrowlite Rims
