  1. were you selling RB engine mounts, sumps and pickups to suit Zed conversion a while back? I think i got mine from you?
  2. Hey mate, welcome.
  3. Hey mate, think i have see you post a few times now, but welcome anyways. That will be wicked with a RB30DET, which head are you using, 20, 25 or 26? I considered doing this not long ago, but decided to do a simple rebuild and save money and just forge the internals on my 25 later on. Look forward to seeing more, got any pics?
  4. Hey mate, welcome Yes its true, nothing rusts here I didnt even see it or i would have had a look at it and im annoyed i didnt cos a friend of mine wants one like that. Anyway, ocassionally ones like this pop up and someone goes home very happy, just have to keep your eye out. From what i can tell that was bout the right price for one, infact maybe even more, but its good to see the price going up i guess, this woud have sold for less a few years ago i reckon.
  5. The gearbox mount was custom, but it resembled that of a 200ZR one from what i have heard. The engine mounts just bolted to the original mount point, the gear shifter just lined up perfectly, I cant get any pics atm cos im 2 hours from the car and the engine is out for a rebuild. Im using the 200ZR sump and the only problem i had was it was slightly to low and ocasionally bumped on the steering rack, so i spaced the engine about 3 mm higher and it fixed the problem, although there is a slight dent in the sump now (not a problem though) I got mine engineered and registered in Canberra even when i was in Vic, so i cant really help, but if you do logical things like upgrading brakes and wheels, then it shouldnt be a problem.
  6. Well the simple answer is Nissan brought out the 200ZR which is a RB20DET Z31 in Japan, which means the chassis and engine have already been made in a Nissan factory together, so I would think that Nissan would not have any dramas sending you a letter. Just gotta find the right person at nissan to do it. My gearbox came straight up through the original hole and the engine is very close to the firewall, I used all of the 200ZR mounting gear, so its actually pretty easy.
  7. Many a discussion has been had about this, it depends on how much power you want, how much torque, what the uses are going to be, how much you can afford, do you want to keep it in the Datsun/nissan family or dont really care? there are heaps of different options, but it comes down to what you want, so let us know and we can help.
  8. mate im impressed, thats a really nice looking 2+2. Look forward to seeing what you do to her.
  9. This is the one i got from Bill in Arizona, really helpful bloke. Im yet to fit them, but from what i have seen, its a better option than paying through your arse at rare spares.
  10. Welcome. I reckon you should put a 350 Chev 400 motor in it, that'd be awsome. Look forward to seeing it all.
  11. I like it. I dont really, looks feckion shite.
  12. Ahh sweet, im glad you mentioned that, mine was doing the whole turn off when going from high to low and had no idea what it was. Ill fix it when i get the caar back together. cheers
  13. Couldnt you do that on need for speed? I think maybe even Juiced too, not sure (i had it but it was shit so i stopped playing). Still, its pretty cool. I like that black/dark grey RX7.
  14. mate i have a full wiring diagram and service manual on CD for RB25, but its with the datto about 2 hours away and i cant get it till next weekend, so keep looking and ill get it if you dont find anything. Also has service manuals and stuff for GTRs, and a shite load of different electronics like SAFC and apexi stuff plus Blitz and Greddy stuff if anyone needs them. All on CD
  15. Just a word of warning to anyone, when I was first looking at upgrading my diff centre, I looked into the CV conversion aswell. When I was talking to Warren at Zbits or Zparts (which ever one hes at), he told me that skyline centres cant fit into longnose housings. I have a 29 spline R33 (GTST) Cusco 2 way in mine now with very few mods, so dont believe everything the "experts" tell you, ask people who might have done it before. End rant/ P.S I have a CV conversion setup for sale :p
  16. I need them, 17x8 with not the best offset, plus the fronts wont turn properly without them and since I have a lot of castor, it just rubs on the front. Plus I want the flare look anyways.
  17. haha, nah mate, the car is set up for as much balance as possible, so i use the same type of tyres front and back. At the moment they are the same diameter, but soon when I put my flares on I will be wearing 235 on rear and 215 front. But they are semi slicks.
  18. I thought you would have had CV joints, if not, I have some 280zx CV shafts for sale includes companion flanges.
  19. I didnt mean it like that Nato, im just too lazy to type indepth about everything I do. I meant that I have found once I gain grip in the rear after just flat dropping off the accelerator, it either understeers or goes back the other way (over correct), wasnt talking about the mechanism itself And I realise that it being a 2 way doesnt effect it that way, but meant that since its a Cusco, its tight as a nuns nasties. All good.
  20. The one time I have found it is a bit hairy with mine is in the wet, less wheel spin, but when it goes, it goes (i have a 2 way though so i cant just back off )
  21. You know you could pay for it all if you sold the VW Will.. "this is the voice inside your head, VW sucks , do up the Datto."
  22. I have ground control coilovers, mate its way too complex for me and i recommend you talk to a pro and they will probly tell you to buy local since there are companies selling the threaded sleeves here in oz. The macpherson strut gets cut and made to the correct length and rewelded. They make a perch where the cut was where the threaded sleeve slides down to and rests on to stop it from going to the bottom of the strut. This doesnt sound complex but it is, due to getting the right length and straight strut etc. You will need custom shocks or a shorter one from a different car. As for MR2 is that in reference to shocks or macpherson struts? Im using 260 mac struts and custom bilsteins rear and koni fronts. Where abouts are you? Im in Canberra and I can give you the number for the guy who did my suspension, but i warn you he is very hard to get a hold of by phone. Scott
  23. Umm, it was a while ago and from the states on ebay. ill see if i can find something about it.
  24. Im pretty sure i paid about $60 for a front billet mount that bolts straight on and works awsome. one piece and 3 bolts. I dont think i could trust a chain, but having said that i guess my car has a little more torque than stock. any of the V8 guys here using the chain method?
