Whilst planning a tidy up of the engine bay on my 260z I'm looking at having all the small metalwork replated in the original finish. Just wondering what the name of the factory plated metal work is and if anyone has any recommendations for places to have the work done. Cheers

With the decision to have the engine sorted out and triples fitted the current carb setup is for sale to help fund the project. Car was running with the current setup before being parked 18months ago and currently having trouble starting again. Dirty and could do with a clean but complete along with filters that are missing from picture. Can even come with the super custom heatsheild if desired lol. Totally custom one of a kind. Was thinking $400 but not sure on the whole market for these so happy to talk price up or down lol. Pickup in hornsby area NSW.

Successful removal of drivers side. Hopefully finish passenger side next weekend. Inner engine bay area bolts had these strange washers with one edge cut off. Am assuming these are just another dodgy thing from previous owner ?

Well cleaned up and painted 2 out of 4 of the above wheels but they dont fit over the front hubs.. bugger. Googled how to remove front guards to start getting front end cleaned up as planning on a big tidy up of engine bay as first step. However I didnt see any files on how to remove the "factory welded" front gaurd onto the sill panel lol. Looks like previous owner thought cutting the rust out and just leaving a big gaping hole would be fine, just weld the bottom of the gaurd straight to the car... hmmm. So all in all not as bad as i thought it might be. Now to get gaurd repaired. Are the replacement weld in panels on Ebay any good? Or is there a better place to buy them.?

Well giving these wheels a quick polish and repaint also to see how they look. They are only 14x6.5 but if they suit will get them professionally rebuilt and widened down the other end of the build. Just trying to get it looking a little better visually to help boost momentum lol
