  1. Outstanding effort, something to be proud of.
  2. Wow, a '73 that still has the indicators in the right place! (most I've seen, which isn't many, have them under the bumper bar...) Nice ride. Every time I see a car like this I want mine back on the road!
  3. HPI Volume 5 or 6 has an atmo 280ZX drag car that SCREAMS to a 10 over the 1/4. Who knows how long they last in that trim though!
  4. I'd love to have a USDM 280ZXT coupe - but even with the good dollar, it still costs a bucket to import them... It would probably be cheaper to get a JDM S130 Fairlady 2L coupe, but I have too many toys as it is!
  5. I reckon I'm using a Gemini cable on my setup. We fitted a slot to the end of the pedal assembly for the ball at the end of the cable, it turned out just right. I've used with with a V6 commodore TB, L24E TB and will shortly connect it to a KA24E TB.
  6. yawn
  7. They are definitely different lengths.
  8. Just a few comments ... Is Pete Tommy Lee Jones' lost brother? 1972 Datsun 280Z If anyone did grinding on my car, with the paintwork unprotected like that, I'd cut off their nuts... (Not to mention throwing the flare around the workshop.) Pity the fool that wants to drive that car and steer it - the wheels are friggin huge! The end result looks pretty good though.
  9. lol, neither does mine. But dad still has his '71 1600, complete with optional AM radio and single speaker under the glovebox... (and FJ20E powerplant )
  10. 1600 radio's were AM only (at least in '71)
  11. It's currently insured for $25k - but I'll be getting it re-valued sometime soon. A couple more shots before we return to our regular programming:
  12. Open diff is fine. But I think you'll find that the ones found in the 260Z/280ZX will be 3.70:1 rather than 3.54:1. (I ran a 3.54:1 R180 open in my MR30 turbo for a few years and it had really long legs!)
  13. No workshop manual - sorry... And I'd like to think so (The wheels are now 16x7/16x8 8-spoke Charcoal Superlites) The 3rd photo was from when it was entered in Small Car Sunday 2005. She's been in the shed since 2006, so I don't really have many recent photos.
  14. Sure is - but not as many photo's as I should have... Here are the 4 iterations of powerplant she has had. The first one is the matching numbers L24 (currently a fully genuine rebuilt short-block in the shed). The second one is after it was force fed by a TO4, the next 2 are the L28 that is still fitted (but getting an upgrade).
  15. lol - it was a bitsa when Pete bought it. And although I wouldn't go the same route, it's probably the 'meanest' GT-B in the land.
  16. +1 Well said. If in doubt - keep it. If not in doubt - keep it anyway! (if you can)
  17. Ask and you shall receive: http://www.ironchefimports.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=363&Itemid=30 I've known this car for at least 10 years...
  18. yes, sorry - slip of the fingers...
  19. I'm really trying not to hijack this thread - any more discussion on non Scoota-rebuild stuff should go elsewhere, but here it is:
  20. This was going to be a response to a PM, but I decided to put it out there to see if there were othes who needed anything (I'm going to regret this...) I have a hard copy 1973-update edition 240Z parts manual, but I don't think I've got a genuine Nissan workshop manual for the S30 series. I've got Haynes 240Z & 280ZX(T) manuals. As far as what I've got on PDF is concerned, it's a fair collection - everything from the Model 31 Cedric (1963), 410 Bluebird (1964), 510/N510/P510 Bluebird, S40/A30 Gloria, Junior, VG60 Patrol, President, 180B (610), 200B (810), A10 Violet, GPA10 Stanza, 520/521/620/780 Trucks, Violet (710), A320 Cabstar, 1000, 1200, 120Y (Sunny B210), Sunny B310, C10/C110/C210 Skyline (inc. GC10/GC110 GT-R's), C20 Sunny Truck, C30/130/230 Laurel, C80 Truck, C141/C240 Caball, C340 Caball/Civilian, E10/F10 Cherry, E20 Caravan (Urvan), F20 Cabstar/Homer, V610/G610 Bluebird-U, GC240/GC340 Echo/Micro Bus, S30/HS30/PS30 (1972-73), S30/GS30 (1974-), N10 Pulsar, PB110/PB210 Sunny Excellent 1400, S10 Silvia, a 1963 Prince which I can't identify, S50 Prince Skyline, SP311 Roadster, T20/T640/T641 Homer, T40/T65 Prince Clipper, and T43 Prince to the T44/T440 Prince Miler Truck...
  21. Bah, just fill in the dipstick hole and make sure you change the oil regularly (PS the Kameari bits I've bought are - oil tensioner, thermostat and radiator cap)
  22. I've got PDF's of all the old Datsun stuff from the early 1960's through to the late 1970's. Sing out if there's something specific you're after.
  23. Correct. The same pad suits Nissan 4-spots too (R32/33/34, Z32 etc.)
  24. I like! But I expect the fuel consumption would be a bit high...
  25. That's probably the wrong one. I expect the OP is after the one that just says 'FULL AUTOMATIC' in a single horizontal line, without the word 'NISSAN'. I might have one from my 240Z somewhere, but even if I do, it's got no pins...
