What you would like your Z to look like?
Toecutter replied to Toecutter's topic in General Discussions
Hi Lynton, Yes well this is how I bought my spoiler. Actually he called me as I'd posted a wanted add on ozdat. Anyhow we had a lengthy discussion re the other parts he had and advised he would e-mail all these details upon which time I was hoping to ask about a possability for member discounts but as you said if you really want the bits asap the phone is quick as he sent my parts overnight, good service. Anyhow if I do get any info I'll be sure to post in the meantime Nate you might just want to call him, ALLZPARTS, Warren, 02 9476 0966. Sulio -
Ok guys well I suppose we did leave it a bit last minute for location and seeing Nate set the date and his car is'nt ready then how about we push it back two weeks? That would make it 1 pm Sunday the 6th of August.. Gav it might be a good time to shoot an e-mail off to that freelance auto journo and advise date for this if he wants to get an idea on the cars in the club and some one on one discussion!? Come on show of hands on whos coming????? Location can stay the same unless somebody out there has a better spot in mind?

What you would like your Z to look like?

Hi Nate, I did e-mail Warren at allzparts in Syd but it's been over a week and no response. Looking at their website I'm guessing he might not check his email everyday so not much else I can do from this point but wait as I don't want to be too pushy. Evan, I'll make a phone call at some time tommorrow. From memory I think the actual amount I was quoted was $235 per wheel so thats $940 total but still a good deal for new wheels in the correct offset! -

Evan, you mentioned the superlites at some point earlier, I reckon you just get the superlites in the new 16" size they are selling and just lower the car. It would look really nice. Like the one in the pic you photoshopped. The superlites are only about $200 per wheel and look so period right and not Tawain special e-bay boy racer, you can get 90% tread tyres if your strapped for cash and get lowered King springs installed. It would look great and you could do it for about $1400 with springs installed. Thats what I did to my car pretty early on even bfore paint and I was pretty reved up to keep going with it because I did'nt have to keep visualising how it would "eventually" look and that inspiration is sometimes needed to finish these cars off. Anyhows hope you got the cash for the honda!? -

Wow I just checked out the original. Good photoshopping Evan. What a difference!! I know what you mean by the rear panel. The grey or black looks best. All the cars I've seen with body colour rear panel have looked a bit off except for a silver Z in the UK that looked ok, pic below the yellow car. The original below! -
Cool you putting it on the car anytime soon? Will be interesting to see pics.

The Easiest Front Brake Upgrade Ever!
Toecutter replied to C.A.R.'s topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
Thanks Mike. I know there is an S12+8 caliper thats had more machining on the caliper area where the disc occupies to accomodate the vented disc. I've read of a few people using this "wider" caliper on the solid rotors and having no probs. Any ideas on this guys as this always leaves the option of going to vented rotors at a later time. -

If thats the case will the hilux calipers fit a 74 260 with solid stock dimension rotors? -

Interesting to see that colour. Thats a really nice angle to exentuate the beaut lines on the S30. Really goes to show all you need on these cars is some shiny paint and period looking wheels with slightly lowered suspension to look like a million bucks. When I see pics like this I really do feel like getting a second Z!!!!!!!!! Great photo Evan. -
Brakes upgrades ideas on a 260Z

Evan, DBA do make just slotted discs. From memory I think they were about $135 each. I would'nt expect anybody to pull you up on having vented rotors or different calipers. If only we were lucky enough to have that many mechanics out there with such a comprehensive knowledge of what all the stock bits on an S30 are!? Especially considering it woould'nt be a fabricated part like a dodgy looking caliper bracket. Anyway thats my thoughts I could be wrong. Sulio -
Don't use too much but it should'nt damage your paint as long as you don't go crazy as it is strong.

Brakes upgrades ideas on a 260Z
Toecutter replied to SMOKEZ's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
Hi Nick, I've decided to stay with the solids as I've bought new cross drilled rotors. Thanks for the offer on the calipers I'm sure there would be a few guys here very intereseted at that price however I've already asked my brother to pick me up a set from a 4x4 wrecker next door to the parts place he works for. He's gettin them for mates rates so I would'nt expect anybody to match the price I'm paying for them. Thanks again! Sulio -

I found out it was the S12+8 and I believe they ended up selling for $177.50 Not bad as from he research I've done they usually go for around $150 a pair from the wreckers. I'm gonna get a set at over the next couple of weeks. Still thinking about that rear upgrade though! -
Yer I filled all my badge holes and reapplied badges using SICAFLEX.

Yer very nice colour the silver he's gone for. In an ideal world I've always thought it would be nice to have a heavily modified Z and then a second car relativley clean and stock looking 240 like this silver car. Ah the best of both worlds! Just gotta keep playing lotto I guess. Sulio -

Ah my Z is a 74 260 and it was that orange colour when I bought it but it came from SA. And another nice looking car: Sulio -
Yer I watched these on a CD rom Ash gave me. You definatley need a broadband connection for those vids. Amazing the amount of rust removal he's done. Does'nt he release about one a month? Is he finished yet?

Every six months or so my car gets tempramental and decides it won't start. The symptom is like a bad regulator or alternator when you try to kick it over. I know the culprit is always the fusable link that is a black box that sits near the master cylinder. The black box has two wires in it that in my case are a little corroded and cause this intermittent problem. Simple to fix but I've just been lazy to change it seeing I can just give it a tap if it ever happens and problem gone! Sulio

Thanks Mike. Blue leaf I just used a pressure pack to spray it as I was eager to mount it so yer might still go gloss not sure as I reckon the satin colour does give it an aggressive edge. Evan, I don't mind the over riders but when I get the front bar rechromed i'll get rid of em. Sulio

I think a black front airdam looks more aggressive. Very happy with the eurathane in regards to flexibility! -
