Yer Nate, I've had to leave my car at my folks place whilst I move house and worst still I have no garage at the new place so the Z will have to wait till I build a garage which might be 6 months away. Look if you get some spare time to finish your car off maybe you could pop in to my folks place and install the cross drilled rotors I've got sitting in the garage! On a seriuos note; have you sold the 260 project you have? Dave Galloway at work has done some serious damage to his lower back so I don't think he's gonna be working on any cars in the short term anyway! Sulio

Welcome Johnzon, As a general rule 240z tend to get better prices. Well that is the advise you'll see on a lot of forums however over the last couple of years I've noticed 260 2 seaters selling for equally high prices which does'nt surprise me at all seeing they generally look identical to me minus the rear lights. Personally I would say if you would like to buy an S30 with the aim of getting it original factory looking then a 240 is a smart choice. If you just like the curves of the 2 seater S30 then go for either especially if you plan to make changes or customise the car. I've got a 74 2 seater 260. I don't think of it as an investment nor am I overly concerned about keeping it too original although I like the idea of sticking to an L series and trying to keep within the spirit of that tough early Z look. Also I preferd the 240z rear lights so I just swapped my 260 lights for 240 lights. Having said all that I know it's getting harder just to find a half decent 240 or 260 2 seater these days, but they do come up occasionally so just keep an eye out on all the usual places, trading post, carsales, NDSOC website, Ozdat etc. I do know of a member here that has a very original 240 that has sat under a tarp for over ten years. I actually checked the car out for him seeing he was overseas when he found the add so he basically bought it over the phone and since then due to unfortunate circumstances he has'nt had the funds to start the resto. Try to PM him if your interested, I believe he goes by the member name of RACINGSTRIPEZ from memory. Thanks Nate, Well I've already got some slotted and cross drilled DBA front rotors on order so $320 there and I am still planning on doing the rear disc upgrade asap, then theres the L28 I want to get into. I think that motor will have to just keep sitting on the stand for a little while yet, but I'll have to build a garage at the back.

I am happy to say that I have bought a new house that I recieve the keys for on the 29th of May. I will have no garage so that means my Z will be either under a tarp in the back or at my folks place for a few months whilst we renovate. Good bye Carnegie hello Kensington! Sulio

That car of your is coming up nicely Mike! Nathan why don't you call Performance wheels and ask if they have a 16x8 you could try out on the back of your car. If they happen to have one in their warehouse maybe you could organise something with a deposit of some sort. It beats trial and error. I've always said the superlights in trhe combo of 16x7 front and 16x8 rear would look nice if the rear fits.

If you go to a "fat" Watanabe rim Nate I take it you mean 8 to 9 inch then you'll need a coilover set up to keep them under the guards, $2000??? + the wats adds up to a bit and the thing is at 8 inch I reckon they look like Panasports anyway!? I think the attraction to Wats is more about the retro appeal than weight. It would be interesting to get some figures on how light they actually are?

From memory the orange car thats also on the background has got some type of Japanese wheels on it. The car in the banner above is Gavs car with photoshoped Works wheels and kit. Try ROH for custom wheels of offset to what ever you ask for. A new set will set of 17's you back about $1700 otherwise you can go for the 16" superlites if you want cheaper wheels! Cheers Sulio

OK thanks guys I'll have another go at removing the R31 calipers and brackets, oh and the rear disc from the R31 is that also a direct bolt on to the S30 rear?

If only it were for all 3! No it's per set. How do you think that price fairs? What sort of price would the R31 parts cost from a wrecker? Ie calipers, discs, brackets??? and still wondering how hard it is to get those braqckets off the R31 skyline?

I think that sounds like a great idea Warren. It could be quite fun too. Some nice pics with perhaps a little bit of info on the car in the pic located somewhere on the calender, ie year of the car, perhaps a short speil on the resto etc!??
