I've read that an early 80's carburated RX-7 pumps are good seeing they provide about 3.5 psi. I guess I might use one of these seeing I would'nt neeed to add a regulator to it.

What cars have fuel pumps that can be used for a carburated car like the 240?

Got home just as it was getting dark and had a quick play around with what I think is the fusable link. Results are good seeing the car kicked over and started first turn of the key and kept starting reliably. I'll take a better look tmrw but just to be sure I've taken a photo of what I think is the fusable link. Any comments guys? Is this the fusable link?

i was told to check on a "fusable link". Tinkered with a small box on drivers side that seemed to have a freyed wire, car started on first go after that. Gotta have a better look during daylight hours tmrw! THanx Fellas

Yer the multimeter I've got is Ash's I'm pretty sure it works fine. hi warren, yer tried jump starting it with the falcon as soon as I had this problem but no go, made no difference at all. Not across the battery but straight across the starter. Hi Ben, if I bridge the batt quickly it does spark however in the car there is not even enough power for the little handbrake light to turn on, so nothing works, does'nt even come close to cranking. You'd assume flat battery but with 11.5 V showing I should at least have a minimal amount of batt power to operate parkers etc should I! Very wierd I've checked the main wires from the battery and there does'nt seem to be any corrosion and as I said measuring voltage supply at the starter connections also shows 11.5V??? Obviously I'm not an electrical wiz but it all seems a bit strange. I've had plenty of cars with bad starter motors over the years and lived with a hammer under the seat on some occasions for the occasional knock to get home but this has got me stumped, my trickle charger shows battery full light on!

I have heard quite a few people say 11.5 V is no good but I checked the battery on my Co car which is a current model ford falcon with a fairly new batt in it and it also measured 11.5 V when the car was off!? I have tried charging the battery overnight still no good!? I'll have to try a good strong batt just to surely eliminate that as a cause.

Hi Lambs, Thanks. Using a voltmeter I measured 11.5 V across the battery (quite new batt) with car off, but thing is although there is charge in the battery it's as though there is no power. All symptoms are like a dead battery, I tried using the voltmeter across the starter and it also showed 11.5 V car off if that makes any sense!?

I've recently had a problem with my car not starting. I mean nothing, like the battery is not even connected. I've checked the battery and it is fully charged however I tried to start it directly from the starter motor across a screw driver, nothing once aqain!? I've heard that these cars have problems with regulators and these symptoms point to it. Any comments? How does the regulator work and where is it? [/img]

I guess nothing eventuated for this one. I was quite busy so I could'nt make it, still have'nt cut those rear guards so I guess any serious driving would have been out of the question. hmmm...I really should spend some time on the car so it's road ready, really looking forward to a cruise then, try and get some new footage for another video now that I have my own mini DV camera to film with!

I think you'll all agree the whole retro styling come back for car manufacturers has been big over the last few years. Cars like the new Mustang, Fords new GT40, and recently I've seen magazines showing off a retro concept Lamborghini Miura that looks kick ass. Well I was thinking about this in regards to the look of the 350Z even though it is a nice looking car it's a real shame the Japs did'nt go down the retro path on the 350Z. Perhaps there are issues with the apparent really bad aerodynamics in the S30 as I've recently read on a hybridZ thread but I'm sure they could have worked more closely around the original S30 styling. Having said all that I was admiring the lines on the new Porsche Cayman whilst on the freeway recently and noticed how close the cars rear end styling is to the old S30, take notice of the rear quarter window, the bump over the rear wheel and even the rear hatch glass.

I don't think this is so new, a company called 3M, which is huge and make all sorts of things have had this on the market for quite some time now. Great idea though, I hate the look of car bras and figure if you get a few chips in every 3 or 4 years just get the headlight covers and bonnet resprayed every 4 years or so seeing it does'nt cost more than $500 in most cases. I resprayed my bonnet about a year ago, colour matches perfectly, $250.00

Studley Park area would prolly be more suited for a pretty tame little drive in the Kew area but police might be a problem however I will try to get my car ready for something more serious if that is the plan. Cheers Sulio

funny thing is we pay big bucks fdor what the japs have and yanks pay big bux for stuff that is made here like simmons and ROH ETC IN 3 PIECE its like badges we want JDM and I bet in jAPAN they want US badges, what would you call them ADM!? hehehe I reckon we get a pretty good deal here in OZ on the ROH wheels because I believe the yanks pay a lot more for them. horses for courses boys I feel your pain but I must admit I really like the17 inch wheel. Its proven a real head turner every single time I've parked it and the FAIRLADYZ badging provides a lot of laughs seeing people scratching their heads and I know they're thnking looks good but what the hell is a fairlady!
