  1. I think it would also be beneficial to have part of the calendar showing in a box on the front page, perhaps just above the polls box...with a read more button just like the articals so it reminds people of upcoming evets!?? If we are going to the effort of planning events we really need max exposure and the front page does it. Cheers, Sulio
  2. Yer I like the simpler text version, also simpler to update as only one area needs to be updated. I think one thing we can do to help it is add the calendar button above so it can be accessed whilst on forums and no need to go to front page. Sulio
  3. my 260 74 2 seater was originally definately a burnt orange. I changed to red, in hindsight shoulda stayed the original orange colour. hard to tell from the pic below as I'd changed the front panels and new door skins but yer you can see that orange Z bum
  4. Hi Matt, Yer I thought it would be a good idea to have everything listed on the calendar page si it could be seen at a glance which I have done however the removal of the google calendar was just a by product of my lousy update, (in other words I accidently removed the google calendar). You'll probably see it up again soon when Gav gets a chance to put it back in. But yer good option to be able to see everything at a glance rather than having to flick through many pages to see whats on for the year!? Cheers, Sulio
  5. Yer I was planning to just add text above the calendar with all events noted so we don't need to scroll through the calendar, just see th eyear ahead at a glance sort of thing. As soon as the meeting dates are confirmed I'll make the addition. Sulio EDIT: Done
  6. you mean the long weekend?
  7. I've added one more option to the poll which is to have the cruise on the following weekend as an overnioghter as Craig pointed out some people may have family get away plans for the long weekend. Sulio
  8. Just an update for the first Victorian cruise, (Phillip Island). Discussion and planning can be found in the Victorian area, link below: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=1985.0
  9. Hi Guys, Even though it's almost 3 months away the Phillip Island Cruise weekend, (Sat 26 & Sun 27 April), is actually a long weekend with Anzac Day being Friday 25th of April. My initial feeling was the Friday would be useful to prepare however should you feel leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday morning for two nights away is prefered please advise so we can start preparing the route. I have posted a poll to get an idea of what you would prefer keeping in mind if it is a two nighter you could always meet up on the second day or perhaps only attend the first. I do realise at this point it is quite early in the year and some may not be sure if they can make it at all however please indicate your preference even if you are not 100% sure that you'll be there so we can accomodate for the majority. Cheers, Sulio
  10. Not car relating but very funny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bfBPvb9y8A
  11. The Bunnings kit is what I used only hard part was polishing the parts in between the letters on the rocker cover. I suppose wheels are much easier as they generally have much less hard spots to get in to.
  12. Would steelo scratch the surface? I'm pretty sure I've used it on my bars years ago for surface rust. Sulio
  13. click on ADDITIONAL OPTIONS and it will give you the cahnce to browse and upload from your pc or if the image is from another page on the net click on the insert image button and use the link of the image from the properties url re image location.
  14. This thread caught my eye because somebody recently told me tax's on imported cars that are over 30 years old can be avoided! Does anybody know if this is true? Sulio
  15. Thanks for the quick follow up re setting up moderators rights Gav! Cheers, Sulio
  16. Much better with the black centers. I remember using a $20 alloy buffing bit from Bunnings some years ago on my rocker cover. I was quite impressed witht he results. Might be worth looking at if you want a really shiny finish. From emeory also remember talk of using some sort of clear coat to retain the shine on the alloy. Sulio
  17. Hi Mick, Good idea to use this section of the forums, (Members Project(s) Journal), to get your progress thread or blog on the car as that is exactly why we have included this section. Just start a new thread and just keep building on it with progress pics etc! http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?board=25.0 Cheers, Sulio

  24. Well we have no set dates for 2008 meetings yet. I will do that in the coming days. Last year we had 4 meetings with cruises in between, some of which were over night cruises. The Apollo Bay and the Mount Buller cruises were both overnighters and great fun, (refer to pics in the galleries). We have decided to do those same destinations for 2008 with an additioanal overnighter to Phillip Island, (still unsure of the route to get there but the run of 37km of road from Warrigul to Korumburra is one I would really like to incorporate in that one). We can also organise some one day cruises in between those dates that take much less planning. I will post this info on the calendar page soon with meeting dates and I'll included any other calendar dates other states might organise BBQ's or cruises for just be sure to make a post in the individual state forum category. The first set of dates for Victoria: 1. Sat 19 & Sun 20 April 2008, Phillip Island, (exact route still to be determined) 2. Sat 2 & Sun 3 Aug 2008, Apollo Bay 3. Sat 8 & Sun 9 Nov 2008, Mt Buller, Cheers, Sulio EDIT: Calendar has been updated. Go to front page and click on the link.
  25. Scott, I think what he means is that it's a good idea to cut the first skin a little higher than the second inner skin and then bend the inner one out to potrude by a bit to form a flat and not a sharp weld. I hope you get what I mean, if not advise and I will do a sketch and post later tonight?? Sulio
