  1. This is a great move I think, we really have needed this for a long time. The main problem is that our commitee is based in Victoria. Sulio, Lurch, Craig and I (well I'm in Ireland atm). I know there are various clubs in each state so perhaps they can leverage off our exposure by letting us know when and where events are held. I'm happy to place them in the Club Calendar for 2008 and I'm happy to assist with uploading pictures, creating albums etc... Let me know the requirements. I can also make interested members moderators of their state board to assist.
  2. Hi mate, Thanks for that, I did manage to find those details last night and I've asked Sulio to contact him. I removed his contact details from the thread just for privacy sake. (He may not want his phone number listed in forums). I tried sending an email but it bounced back. Hopefully Sulio can turn something up, since its a truly great car and alot of hard work went into it. Will make for an excellent feature provided he his happy to go along with it and I've offered to host his old website, since it was a good resource.
  3. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone here knows Simon Degroot or has his contact details that they could forward on to me? For those who don't know him he had a website on his build of a L28 Turbo 240z http://www.240z.id.au (site now broken). Its been featured in Zoom magazine and other publications and I'd really like to feature it here on Viczcar.com - after all where could be more appropriate? Perhaps some of our Queensland members know where he is? Cheers,
  4. Nice, I think every Z is missing the battery tray, hence the rusted out firewall. Nice steering wheel from motorsport auto in the US?
  5. For a 240z, anything is half decent condition is going to go for at least $8k, alot of basket cases can be had for $3k and top condition 240z's are now going for up to $25k. 260z 2 seaters are slightly less but there were less of those imported to Australia and generally worldwide so they might be more difficult to find. Best of luck, you might find a good one at a good price. One of our members recently found one on a barn for a couple of thousand. Its a top car and he got a steal, so you never know. a 240z should be cheaper to run than a twin turbo 300zx but parts are getting more and more expensive now.
  6. This topic has been moved to Classifieds. [iurl]http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=1642.0[/iurl]
  7. Hi everyone, I just wanted to remind everyone to be careful when responding to personal messages. If you receive a personal message hitting reply in your email program or account will send the email to me and not the intended receipient. I have noticied quite a few people doing it over the last few months. I have been letting people know but cannot always catch all of these. For security reasons and to prevent spam the system is set like this. Cheers, Gavin.
  8. Found this while looking for a specific website. It has some good links to rare and hard to find bits and pieces for your Z. http://www.hammondsplains.com/z/
  9. Alan, Have you seen this website? http://www.zccjdm.com/ More specifically http://www.zccjdm.com/catalog.php/azcarbum/dt43196/CARBURETORS__TBI_s I myself have a set of Triple Mikuni 44's but might consider F.I throttle bodies in future. I have not made up my mind yet since I'm currently overseas on a working holiday. Do you specifically need the Mikuni's for racing regulations?
  10. Yeah I realised I missed the .com it was last thing I did at work. The guy who sits next to me produces the modified motors magazine over here. http://www.modifiedmotors.ie the website isn't great (needs some work) but he's really good with the print work. He said we should get a single colour vinyl sticker and it should be done in illustrator. So that its completely vector image (can be scaled to any size without quality loss or pixelisation). With regard to the name switch I've thought about all the effort required: -Change of website banner -Backend reference changes -All forum links in forum posts use viczcar.com -Google will need to index the whole site again Its alot of work and I hardly have the time for now. It will be much easier to perhaps leave the site as Viczcar.com and possibly just change the banner and allow people to access through both auszcar.com and viczcar.com but the site will still sit on viczcar.com
  11. Myself I'd just like a set of - Watanabe's or Simmons FR17's . Or if Santa is really generous he can get me one of those 350HP engine heads from Eiji at Datsun Spirit

    260Z 2+2

I like the pillar badge smoothed look. Helps the lines of the 2+2 I think.

You have done really well with this. If you would like us to make it a feature car let me know.
  14. Attached is simple sticker. I have been told its best to stick to one colour though so maybe the red Z will need to disappear. If we are going to incorporate a Z perhaps what Van has come up with would be best.
  15. Here is the attached font. Lets keep it consistent with the website logo . 1568_.zip
  16. By the way since the redesign i have changed the font to Nissan
  17. Yes I can set up www.auszcar.com to point to www.viczcar.com I don't think it will be possible to completely remove viczcar.com because the domain name has now been long established. Moving it could mean disappearing from Google for a little while and all existing links point to www.viczcar.com Its a tricky one, hence the reason I haven't changed it yet.
  18. I tend to agree the wreath does have an old feel about it. I think it could look good but probably needs a bit more work. I like Van's because its simple and would work well as a sticker. I might have another go at creating one myself if I can get a couple of hours to do it. At the end of the day we can always change the design down the track.
  19. Yeah bleeding the brakes on an early Z is a pain in the arse. If the brake lines are grotty it can definately leave you with a spongy pedal. I'm still not happy with the brakes on my Z after replacing the rear drum shoes and drums themselves. The fronts are a bit better but I think its the most worthwhile upgrade on any Z. I want a set of Wilwood's and a master cylinder from a S13 or something like that I think. Good luck!
  20. Standard nose cone chrome headlight covers are probably going for around $500 - $600 AU in brand new condition. Expect to pay up to $1000 AU for Gnose covers with the chrome trim. Eiji at www.datsunspirit.com might be a better option for some items. As they say shop around .
  21. I had a look and must say it looks like you can get some great stuff. I particularly like the old works seats and the fact you can get amber turn signal tail lights alot cheaper cause you are not bidding against US owners. I'm sure I'll use the service at some stage provided others have a good experience with it. The website could use some help in terms of usability / design and functionality though.
  22. Hi everyone, This topic is a bit old and Van did these some time ago. I have not had a chance to organise club stickers although Sulio and I did have some discussions relating to them. I do like the ones that incorporate the silhouette shape of the Z. I'm not sure myself about "embracing the heritage", I think I'd prefer something like: "embracing a legend" "embracing a winner" but then again I'm not really sure we need a tag line on the sticker. The other issue is I did buy www.auszcar.com and have been considering changing the club name to AUSZCAR seeing as its much more fitting now a days. I guess we kinda out grew our boots .

Love the blue paint! Looks fantastic, but now I miss the Aussie sun
  24. Sorry George, didn't mean to upset the apple cart. I could just imagine Sulio yelling arrrrriba, it's the little things when you are away from home. If it's any consolation Nigels Yellow 240z was snatched and went to Queensland. Also I'm not sure who the new owner of Gavin strongman's 260z is now. Last I heard though I think it was heading to NSW. I think in general though the most Z's were in Victoria followed by NSW then QLD. SA next and then WA. I could be wrong but it wouldn't surprise me. Perhaps you guys could start organising some events in NSW? Sulio has really been the backbone of organising the day trips for the club, I've been the web guru. Some more passion in NSW and maybe some more owners will come out of the woodwork.
  25. LMAO, run for the border Sulio!
